So... Riddle me this Batman.
Roberts & crew rewrote the law to make this a tax vs. a mandate. However - Article I, Sec. 7 of the US Constitution says: "All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives." The law that the SCOTUS ruled on originated in the Senate, was passed first by the Senate and then by the House.
So... how is it a tax? Unless - Roberts just single handedly amended the US Constitution?
For those of you saying Roberts was being crafty - I don't buy it. And I don't know which is a scarier thought. That Roberts doesn't understand that taxes start in the House - or that he just flat out disregarded it.

Let's repeal their power to tax. Repeal the 16th Amendment. Shouldn't be too hard to do.

Newt who is taking a much needed break in Italy, was reached for comment and he made it clear that what Justice Roberts did was not good for Obama because he now has to defend the biggest tax increase in history on the American people. This may just be Obama's un-doing, Lord I hope so.

I'm praying freenca, I am praying every waking moment, and probably some while I sleep! I never thought I would be glad of Romney winning, and frankly I am still unsure what he will really do to repeal Obamacare, but Obama the crook needs to go! We must then focus on getting conservatives elected to the House and Senate to hold Romney accountable. Sunshine here we come!

Those who think this ruling will hasten PBO's demise come November are dreaming... those most infuriated by this ruling were never going to vote for him anyway.
For the hard left, this energizes them to get off their buts, maybe offsetting the right who is now alert and upset.
But, the large mushy middle, who don't know what they stand for will hear over and over from PBO and his surrogates how this vindicates his 1st term and the law itself. Conservatives and consitutionalists will be on the defensive against the headwind of this case.
This ruling is nothing but bad. How can a PBO vindication be viewed as positive?

Consider a diet, a government TAX diet. The whole family will be on it out of nesscessity. More taxes out of your paycheck means less food on the table, less fuel in the gas tank, higher energy bills to pay, and you get to pay for it all with less take take home pay. Here is the deal. Besides saying that repeal Romney needs to specifically say what he will do that is better. Ie Commerce across 50 states, HSA, etc. Put together a plan and hammer this man!
Ahhh, he made a 'firm pledge'. I see now. It wasn't a 'definitive pledge' or a 'rock solid pledge'. It was a 'firm pledge'. Not meant to be upheld for more than three years. If you wanted the full-bore 'rock solid' pledge, you should have asked for the extended warranty. Sorry, can't help you now.
