Keep trying scoop. This is old and tired news. Romney's position is to repeal ObamaCare. There are still some who don't believe him, but the number is dwindling. If he gets the nomination, all these clips you have here will help him win independents and win the election. So keep up the good work.
Wow, Buzzfeed, Obama's campaign arm is really working hard to hit Romney. Why are we letting them. Andrew Kaczynski, is a Obama surrogate, look at his work attacking all of the candidates from the beginning. Look at his work from before the election.
These clips are obviously out of context and we are believing it, why. Because its Romney. TRS once spoke out against the lies told about Pam Bondi on Romney's team, why won't TRS stand up now against these obvious distortions.
Romney's plan is best told from history and here is a documentary about it, there is much we can learn from it and not make the same mistakes: http://url2it.com/lrsa
THIS is why the GOP wants to wrap things up with Obamney ASAP. The longer we wait, the more we discover about the liberal behind the mask.
Romney is a shameless liar. And, conservatives continue to lap it up.
Its not like they haven't been warned, over and over and over.
If John Bolton Allen West and Andrew McCarthy are part of Romneys Admin he be okay.
And how many more of these videos are out there waiting for release after the convention?
Another thought. Why are these videos coming out only now, instead 3 or 6 months ago?
I like the way he keeps say they "got" every insured. He signed a bill forcing some to buy it, and buying it for some with the taxes of others. He didn't "get" anybody anything.
And with government "running" the insurance companies, hospital and doctors is somehow not government running health care.
There are only three ways to tackle healthcare:
1) You allow people without insurance to die when they get cancer.
2) You have others pay the cost of their treatments (usually resulting in higher hospital costs and/or higher taxes.)
3) You require everyone to take care of themselves by getting their own health insurance coverage.
Which option do you like best? I don't like any of the options. With option 1, you will have Democrats screaming that Republicans want poor people to die. They will win more elections as a result, and we will be back to the same mess we're in now. With option 2, you create an attitude of entitlement, that healthcare is a right and the world owes it to you. And with option 3, you probably violate the constitution at the federal level, but you are also requiring people to be responsible for themselves.
I don't see a good answer. At least Romney did healthcare mandates at a state level where such experiments are allowed. I don't blame him for trying to find a solution to the healthcare dilemma as long as he had the support of the majority of his state. Obama is doing his experiment with healthcare at the federal level and is shoving it down the throats of citizens who don't want it. That's a big difference.
You could go with option 4 and let the states decide and have the federal government out of the equation completely. State governments decide if they want socialized medicine or a market based system. Massachusets went one way, but its at a state level and they can decide if thats what they like or not. Virginia can do something else. The point being the federal government has no need to be in the healthcare business whatsoever. They need to stick to enforcing the current laws, protecting the nation and limiting their involvement in the states business, only ensuring that States aren't screwing each other (hence interstate commerce clause) and thats it.
That is what Romney did. But it's also a matter of thinking of how to do things. Not just wether its a state issue or not but that he would still propose that for a state. If I was in a state that was proposing that I would still be against it. So I don't believe that people don't believe in states rights they are still against that option, wether it be a state option or a federal one. Like getting a concealed carry in Chicago. It's against the law there and it's a state issue however I'm not for that law and if I lived in Chicago I would want it overturned. If someone from a state with a big anti-gun history ran for President I would be inclined to think that they would carry anti-gun beliefs into the POTUS. I wouldn't just think that oh, that was a state issue so they won't try anything at the federal level.
If you want states to decide if they want socialized medicine or not, isn't that what Massachusetts did under Romney? There are a lot of people on this site that don't believe in state's rights any more. They used to, but now they have flip-flopped on the issue so they can hate Romney. Your option will be a hard sell now.
I won't be voting for this liar in the general, should he be nominated.
In that event, he is the GOP's problem, and G*d help the conservatives running on the GOP ticket.
I understand what you are saying.....but if Romney is the Nominee.....Is there a difference?
Agree. This is where I disagree with Rush. He thinks anyone will win against current prez. I remain unconvinced.
This guy hasn't been straight with us from day one. He is a fraud.
Honestly, answer me this: Why would you continue to lie to the Republican Party and it's voters ... and then think your Presidency will be a success?
These are the actions of a spoiled brat.
More likely: "He is crooked too."
Thanks for documenting Romney's position and action.
Here is some more:
1. Romney supported federal funding of abortion: After 3 years of his supposed “pro-life conversion” he signed $50 abortions into law as part of his healthcare plan that was endorsed by Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, and Planned Parenthood. In 1999 Romney said, "When I am asked if am I pro-choice or pro-life, I say I refuse to accept either label." (Glen Warchol, "This Is The Place, But Politics May Lead Romneys Elsewhere," The Salt Lake Tribune, 2/14/99)
2. Romney supported government mandated healthcare (Romneycare) in Massachusetts: He signed into law the forerunner of ObamaCare, and records show that three of Romney's advisers met a dozen times with senior Obama officials to help craft Obama's signature legislation. (Article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44...
3. Romney Supported a Pro-Gay Agenda: He unilaterally implemented same-sex “marriage” in Massachusetts. He boosted funding for homosexual and transgender “education” starting in kindergarten and promised the homosexual Log Cabin Republicans he would not oppose “gay marriage” in return for their endorsement.
4. As governor, Romney passed over Republican lawyers for three quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he faced and appointed Democrats including 2 open homosexual activists.
5. Romney claims to stand for religious liberty and freedom of conscience, however, he supports the passage of the state level, Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which would force churches and other religious organizations to hire homosexuals and transvestites or face criminal fines and prosecution.
6. On Gun Control, Romney favors the "Assault" Weapons Ban and he favors a waiting period, before a person can buy a handgun, Romney stated, "I don't think [the waiting period] will have a massive effect on crime but I think it will have a positive effect." - Boston Herald, 8/1/1994
7. As governor, Romney opposed the Bush Tax Cuts (for which he was lauded by Barney Frank) and raised taxes and fees by a billion dollars which has decimated the Massachusetts economy.
8. Romney supported the unconstitutional and wasteful “porkulus” spending and he supported the unconstitutional bailouts of bad business.
9. Romney supported the international hoax of man-made global warming.
After the Huckabee forum, I've had an overdose of Romney for the month.
Thank you for this great Post. I hope Rick and Newt see your Post and confront him with what you just said. You should be working for either Newt or Rick in my opinion. Thank YOU.
Thanks - you answered my question. There isn't ONE issue Romney can win against Obama. The only difference between them is one has D and the other R next to their names.
Romney is the perfect candidate to run against Obama that will ensure Obama's re-election.
Can you imagine Romney and Obama in a debate? Is there ANY issue that Obama couldn't turn back around on Romney? I can't think of one. The campaign ads by Obama will be out of control and make us look like fools for nominating this guy. And once again, we lose.
We don't need a 3rd party, we need to clean up the Republican party and kick the RINO's the heck out. There are plenty of good people who could easily fill the void (Palin, Backmann, Cain, West, and many others).
Sorry Maxine,We DO NEED A THIRD PARTY,this one is CORRUPT and run by the GOP ELITES,America has NOT got the Time to wait for natural changes to hopefully? get the RATS out! IF their golden boy RINO ROMNEY wins ,see how you feel then, After he gets his butt kicked by Obama, see how you feel then! How many times do we have to get DUPED/COERCED/TRICKED into supporting a candidate who is nothing but a weak moderate/progressive LOSER! The clock of America's destruction is nearing midnight with crushing debt/deficit,record unemployment, housing crisis,Financial crisis,Obamacare,War in the middle-east,Europe crumbling,Islam taking over, all these crisis call for a REAL LEADER NOW,or as soon as possible not 10 years from now!
Well, I guess you missed my original point. I don't disagree with the points you passionately made as I understand the problems we are facing. I think the fastest way to impact change is to throw out those that are not representing us.
I would love to see a Constitutional party, but unless you have a few (maybe many) billionaire friends who support a 3rd party what's your plan? Changing what we have now seems to be more realistic, IMHO.
Not only that but the lefty/liberals have infiltrated the Tea Party itself and like Obama are trying to divide and conquer and confuse them,so as to render them ineffective.
Well, maybe that's the problem. Everyone knows you shouldn't marry an abusive partner. You tell them to straighten up or get the heck out!
I wouldn't say the Tea Party is failing. I'm glad they at least caused a little gridlock. Although they are blamed for things not getting done, I give them some credit for trying to stop BAD things from getting done.
I hope your posts work RS. I don't know if you have an agenda, but your posts are hopefully useful.
I am always curious that no one bothers asking how a 1000 or 2000 page bill appears out of thin air with no one in Congress claiming to have either written it or read it. Patriot Act, Obamacare.....
I think you are exactly right. There seems to be something out there that I cannot put my finger on. It is like all of this is being planned by someone or thing. It is beginning to feel like we are being controlled and it matters not whom is elected.....things are just going to happen and our way of life today will soon disappear. The northeastern Republican Establishment and the Liberals seem to be in charge and to HELL with everybody else. Something is just not right out there.
It is in the desk drawer waiting for the appropriate time. I think I remember hearing that Biden was one of the Patriot Act authors. Remember hearing it was written years ahead of Sept11.
Any doubt left in anyone's mind any more, just exactly what these progressives mean when they say "reform"?
It's pathetic that the GOP might be nominating a guy that cannot defend a position that 60% of American voters are in favor of, AKA repealing Obamacare. I will vote for this guy to be president but I will not vote for him to be our nominee.
I can't believe the number of brainwashed Romney-bots out there, like their leader they can't give any substantial reasons why anyone should choose him other than he's a successful businessman, they deny all the negative stuff with lame excuses.
Over at C4P, one of their bloggers came out for Romney, and argued that he should be elected because he is Mormon, and Mormons are for limited government, by definition. I kid you not.
Donald, with all due respect, the GOP will never learn its lesson and the country will get no better with Romney in charge. Romney will destroy the country just like Obama, just slower or diffrrently. I used to vote to prevent a bad president from taking over (Dukakis, Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama). What did we get for it? Our country is in the pooper because of LEFTISM, not Democrats. Republicans are simply less guilty than the Dems and Romney will not help. It's time to let this country know that we will not settle any more.
BS
Don't Tread On Me
I don't know what else to do. I only started following politics around early 2007. Before then, I was what I now typically lament, the no-information non-voter. The only elected politician I knew was the President and VP, and that was because for the most part of my working life, I worked for them.
I'm hoping Gingrich can somehow be on the ticket, but my first choice was Cain. My only goal now is to defeat Obama with any candidate that happens to stand against him.
