The "fiscal cliff" is a term that Ben Bernanke termed to talk about the spending cuts that Republicans negotiated in last year's debt deal. Now, for some reason, a lot of Republicans are scared of the spending cuts and are talking about increasing spending above current policy, even though we are already spending too much.

Where is it?!?!?!? Lol!

This, my dear ScoopFriends, is the best and most hopeful news I have read all week. See if you agree. There IS a lot of HOPE for the GOP party.

Another interesting read...I don't know if anyone follows the Ulsterman Report, but for the past couple of years he has been posting 'Insider" reports from a Wall Street Insider, a Democrat White House Insider and a Military Insider. He now has a new Republican Insider, and the first interview posted today: http://theulstermanreport.com/2012/11/13/republican-insider-new-blood-in-an-old-direction/

I am really getting tired of this "fiscal cliff" nonsense. We went over the fiscal cliff on August 15, 1971. We defaulted on our obligations. We've been falling like Wile E. Coyote ever since. We are due to hit bottom any day now...amazing it has lasted this long.

I'd have answered "which fiscal cliff you talking about? The two we passed in the last few months, or the ones that are ahead of us?" What a joke, the fiscal cliff, ha. We're on a downward spiral that no one wants to put up a roadblock on. The better question is "How much of your earned dollar would you like to be allowed to keep in the year 2015 and beyond? Pick any number between 10% and 85% but your answer can't be higher than 40%. Have a congressman ask the question and then thank the respondents with a postcard sized picture of 0, Harry Reid and all the Democratic members of the Senate and House or a similar sized picture of Boehner, Kristol and all the Rinos gathered around a bronze statue of Benedict Arnold.

Stop the spending, cut entire programs..... you morons

You should have to take a test to vote bottom line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

iaintlyin

If I vote multiple times will I have to take the test every time I vote? If so, will you try to trick me and ask different questions at each location? One of the questions better not be asking me if I have ID thats all I can say.

My goodness! How the progressives were successful in dumbing down the American electorate to the point of ignorance being bliss. This is what our government run schools have turned out...mind numb robots and ignoramuses.

All irrelevant as none know that the point at which the implosion could have been stopped has been passed 08'. Ann Barnhardt, if your willing to sit and watch for 2.5 hours, will explain the dire circumstances we all will face in a few months.

Thanks for the link warpmine. I generally keep a pretty good watch on her site but haven't been there for a couple weeks. I know it's going to be full of hard hitting facts much of which is what our leaders ought to be sharing with the public.

pdxlady

Me too, Patriot077. I usually check out her site, but for the last couple of weeks there have just been too many sites to read and too little time.

Then there was that setback we had a week ago.

If our illustrious leaders explained this, there would be hell to pay especially for letting it happen under their watch including Bawney Fwank who'd be hunted down like a whale in 18th century.

Love her. Thanks warpmine- I've put it on favorites to watch later tonight when I have more time.

I can only imagine. One of the things I like about her is she never candy coats anything, and tells it straight up. Sigh. I'll watch it sober.

If this is the greatest country on earth with the amount of stupid people we have...I shudder to think just how many stupid people are in other countries.

My immediate reaction on hearing that Petraeus resigned was that he had said no to the whitehouse blackmail.

I finally found this video which this guy claims he was told to be the case....

Good clip sDee, thanks for searching it out. Those were my thoughts as well. The admin. wanted Petraeus to lie under oath, and being an honorable (?well, he was until that silly married mother collage student got him) man and he would have none of it.

So, he stepped down so he wouldn't be obligated to them. He took the choice of completely obliterating his reputation, et al...because he knew he was a dead man either way.

I believe they will subpoena him and he will give his testimony. Then I believe he should immediately be safely escorted out and placed in a witness protection plan or leave the country. I believe he and his family should be preparing for this now; getting all of their affairs in order, etc.

Scary dealing with a regime that doesn't hesitate to take people out, if necessary; i.e. Andrew Breitbart. R.I.P.

The same people who voted for "Hope and Change." Well, when we do go off the fiscal cliff, they will be left with no hope and only a little loose change in their pockets. Hope they're happy!

Fiscal cliff amounts to the financial collapse of America, come on lets just get it over with. We can rebuild it.

Very nice ending.

"You know how you get to the fiscal cliff?"

For about the past year, I have been learning how to cook from scratch and over open flame. I've planted my first ever garden to learn how to grow my own food. I'm slowly building a "bugout bag" and stocking up on survival items and first aid. I's both fun and prudent.

Few people realize how fragile an advanced society like ours really is. I know so many people who have no clue what the world looks like when power and security are intermittent. Just staying alive is a full-time job when the cradle of western civilization is overturned.

Patriot077

Don't forget to lay in a supply of salt. No kidding. My Mom grew up in the depression and they lived off their land. No cash for anything at all. One thing she recalled being truly hard to do without was salt.

AmericanborninCanada
AmericanborninCanada

Out of sheer necessity, I am surprised at how much I have had to learn over the past few years- about things to do to survive. I've been learning a lot about myself at the same time. I trust in the Lord more than ever, and He strengthens me. These people will have a hard time, as there are no Cliff Notes on self sufficiancy once all you know is nanny state.

Hard times do tend to make us stronger and the lessons learned are not forgotten. I am so thankful that I saw back in 2008 (later than most of you, but better than never) what was in store for us if 0 was elected.

Regarding self sufficiency, stories of people crapping in the hallways after Sandy was a perfect illustration of their ability to adapt to adverse circumstances.

AmericanborninCanada

Well said Patriot! Yes, it was a little before 2008 for us, but better a little later than never. I'm glad you were and are prepared too. Your last sentence is Spot On!!

If you need advice about frugal living, ask your grannies and great aunts if you have any. They know, they've been there, done that - and survived without a fridge, a washing machine, central heating ...

Good advice, thank you.

GO to a used book seller and ask for an "old Virginia housewives cookbook" that one has tons of practical living methods and instructions; making soap, gardening, making your own stuff, as well as cooking over an open hearth, etc. Hope you can find one.

fiscal cliff,,,,, war on women... liberal do not even know what end is up, most proved they want free, and they voted in the worse admin not once but twice. sadly we will go down with them, but they need to own this crap they created. people should be waking up 2014 i hope so we can get the senate back with the house. if we lose both, we will never recover, going to be hard either way. sad is what this all is.

We are smart enough to protect ourselves and have survival plans. They rely on others to do that for them and will be left hanging on to a rope going over that cliff, only to learn the other end was tied to NOTHING

All many of them really know is that the Pied Piper (Obama) is playing a lovely diddy and they feel compelled to follow him "Forward" (right over the cliff).

Stupid, ignorant lemmings.

Today I may have found out why the Republican Party is not challenging any voter fraud.

In seems that in 1982, in a case between the Republicans versus the Democrats, and by consent agreement, they are not allowed to. (?)

I read about it here: http://www.politijim.com/2012/11/no-joke-gop-can-not-legally-help-stop.html

And the case itself is here: http://judicialview.com/Court-Cases/Civil-Procedure/Democratic-National-Committee-v-Republican-National-Committee/10/201975

And here's the entire ball of wax including subsequent challenges and rulings:

They really are the stupid party if they keep renewing this! I would think that they would realize that they have assisted the other side to cheat them audaciously and thoroughly. They have given them a 30 year license to steal our votes. Damn them.

LOL I'm up too still, but just about to get to bed. I'm about seeing double ;-) I agree. No more compromise! No caving!!! Thanks for this sis. I'm going to post it to facebook, then hit the hay. Have a Blessed evening!!!

Me too, although it's only 10:15 here and the night's still young. :D

I posted this link above: http://www.trevorloudon.com/2012/11/you-have-two-years-to-live-an-open-letter-to-the-incoming-republican-house-members-of-the-113th-congress/#comment-86102

and I have been tweeting it out to all of the R's in the House. It is so important that they DO NOT CAVE!!!

We are not going to be liked anyway. No matter what R's do, we will always be demonized, so we must hold on to our principles while we regroup...and just say NO to raising the debt ceiling...the HOUSE is VERY powerful. THEY HOLD THE PURSE STRINGS; so we need to continue to contact them...all; they just cannot cave in like they always do.

Oh boy, I'm on a roll now! :)

OK, I'm still up, and I just read them. I just posted all of them on facebook. Can I let out a string of swear words now? Better not or I'll have to arrest myself. Thanks pdxsister. :-)

lol! It's been a while since I've pulled an "all nighter". I think the last time was when Hurricane Wilma was coming in. I stayed up and kept going out onto the porch to see how windy it was getting and to catch the weather updates.

But you're right, I'm a natural night owl ;-) Usually about 2 am EST for me. I have so much on my mind, it takes a long time of quiet to settle it down to where I won't be laying in bed awake. I'd rather stay up until I crash than toss and turn. :-D Night girlfriend!

You must stay up as late as I do. Seems like I can't get to bed before 2am PST. Once I stayed up until 4am, and the morning shows were on already. I wondered if I should just make a pot of coffee and start the day all over again. But sleep won.

=)

AbiCSis...they're not scary. I read them this morning, and if you haven't read them yet, I think they will just make you slap the heel of your hand on your forehead (I first wrote forward :D) and say eeecheewawa!!!
