Glenn Reynolds, aka Instapundit, writes today that Obama should resign for violating his oath of office and resorting to intimidation and thuggery against the man affiliated with the so-called anti-Islam movie:

INSTAPUNDIT – WHY BARACK OBAMA SHOULD RESIGN. Just for the record, this is what it looked like for a man who made a film that made the Obama Administration uncomfortable:

Here’s the key bit: “Just after midnight Saturday morning, authorities descended on the Cerritos home of the man believed to be the filmmaker behind the anti-Muslim movie that has sparked protests and rioting in the Muslim world.”

When taking office, the President does not swear to create jobs. He does not swear to “grow the economy.” He does not swear to institute “fairness.” The only oath the President takes is this one:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

By sending — literally — brownshirted enforcers to engage in — literally — a midnight knock at the door of a man for the non-crime of embarrassing the President of the United States and his administration, President Obama violated that oath. You can try to pretty this up (It’s just about possible probation violations! Sure.), or make excuses or draw distinctions, but that’s what’s happened. It is a betrayal of his duties as President, and a disgrace.

THERE’S MUCH MORE

The Times of Israel reports that after they finished intimidating him and exposed him he won’t return home for fear of his life:

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was interviewed for about half an hour at the station shortly after 12 a.m. in his hometown of Cerritos, Calif., said Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County sheriff’s department.

After that, deputies dropped Nakoula off at an undisclosed location.

“He is gone. We don’t know where he went,” Whitmore said. “He said he is not going back to his home.”

So much for free speech in America.

Obama won’t resign so we must kick him out off office in November. We must and it can’t be stated strong enough.

You only have the rights you are willing to fight for. And THAT, ladies and germs, is why I skirt the edge of appropriate language. Rather than accept PC and being non offensive, I tend to believe that my right to say what I want trumps your right to not be offended. Nowhere is it written that you have a right to never being offended.

This must mean that if you make a comment that is deemed offensive to certain groups or the WH, get ready for a possible raid of your house during the middle of the night. I am now afraid to express my opinions publicly. What say you, if you dare!

How many more impeachable offensives are we going to have to take until someone in congress has a backbone to do the RIGHT thing!!

This is outrageous! What about the first amendment, obama?

If we don't stand up and defend this innocent man it will show the Islamic world that terrorism wins.

Has anyone looked into the background of this guy? I mean it fits awfully nice that all of this happened at the same time.

Chaos is what Obama needs to confuse and deceive.

I have a question, we know that this administration is claiming that the events in Cairo and Libya and now all over the middle east were the "direct result" of this short film. Isn't it possible to find out how many people had viewed the film before these horrific events happened? or even now for that matter. I would think that the numbers would be quite large to get this many people fueled up to reck havoc in such a short period of time. I'm curious! I want to know which came first, so to speak, the chicken or the egg?

Honestly, I don't believe the film is the cause of these events. I believe the film is the distraction set up to coincide with these events.

Anti-Islam Filmmaker Donated Million Dollars To Obama Campaign

.

Blame the movie

Blame the movie.

Blame the movie.

Even though "the movie" was on YouTube for months prior to the collective indignation of thousands of Middle Eastern Islamists all coming together on the eleventh anniversary of September 11th (through wild coincidence, no doubt), we are being told by our government and our media overlords that we must blame the movie.

You see, if we blame the movie for the burning of our foreign outposts and the brutal murders of four Americans (including our Libyan ambassador who was reportedly raped), we won't blame the burners and the looters and the murderers and the rapists.

You see, if we blame the movie for the Middle East burning, we won't blames the Islamists who are doing the burning and looting and raping and murdering.

Which means we won't further connect the dots and blame Obama's failed Middle East policy; the Obama Doctrine of backing away from the region and allowing events to unfold as America stands idly by -- as the Islamists in the Muslim Brotherhood grab hold of power in Egypt, a country that was once our largest and closest ally.

Blame the filmmaker.

Don`t get on obama`s bad side, if you do bad things happen to you.

obama does not go by the constitution or any state or federal law unless it suits his purpose.

It has been long past time to put him out of our White House, lets take America back.

Vote for the Americans---Romney/Ryan, lets throw the Kenyan out of our presidency............

"To the best of my ability". Therein lies the rub. Here's a question for you. If a president does not believe in the Constitution, and does not respect it at all, and swears to preserve, protect and defend it "to the best of my ability", then what does, the oath mean?

The LAtimes coverage of this story and others leans so far left that they updated the story on July 15th 1:46 am. The richest lady in the world said "she could not compete with $2-a-day salary" they translated that to she wants to pay people $2 a day headline (something she did not say). I wonder how much money the LATimes owner has maybe he should pay his editors $2 a day.

Obama resign? - it's never going to happen. IMO, Obama is the most narcissistic President of America in my lifetime. This omnipotent leader has lead America to a point where Carter's failed policies now seem the good old days. Americans must and will vote him out of office.

It wasn't the barbarians who sodomized and assassinated the Ambassador and staff that are the problem, it's the American who's the problem. Insanity still stands with Obama and his administration.

This is absolutely terrifying. And the leftist media is censoring this. If Bush had done this, they would be in a tizzy.

NoToTyrants
NoToTyrants

If it had been Bush, they would be screeching McCarthyism, Fascism, Nazism, etc.

The Hollywood left still makes movies, writes passion plays, sing songs, and lament over the blacklisting of proven communist and Soviet agent Hollywood writers in the 50's.

If Bush were the one interrogating and intimidating Mr. Cerritos, it would give Hollywood fodder for another 60 years of movies, passion plays, songs, etc, lionizing this "artist" and demonizing Bush for his fascistic intimidation of this innocent film maker.

Since it is Maobama and involves a politically correct "religion", these same people are silent.

I find it a wee bit unbelievable that this man was taken in for "other" things just after his film hit the fan. Rubbish. Did it really require half a dozen people to bring him in, with photographers at the ready, as though he were a mass serial killer finally caught? This is all staged to scare anyone in this country from doing anything against the government. It's exactly what we voted for in 2008 - tyranny.

Linky1
Linky1

This is indeed, very scary. This is one example, how many others are out there, going unreported?

Think about it-a few years ago, we would all be labelled a bunch of "right wing conspiracy nuts" for believing that this could happen.

I am reading a book now called "In the Garden of Beasts" - http://tinyurl.com/8jju8nq - it is an account of the US Ambassador to Germany during the 30's.

When you read what happened during that time, how the Nazis presented a picture to the rest of the world of a "happy, prosperous" country, how nothing had changed under Hitler, how in fact, the country seemed to be prospering, while in fact, Jews and non-Jews alike were rounded up for "questioning", to be put in protective custody, how a journalist was made to leave Germany for telling the truth of what was really happening, the parallels are frightening.

What is the worst part is that officials and regular people overlooked what was happening because of the complicity of the Embassy, of US officials and the press. We all know the outcome of what happened, how the whole story never truly came out until the end of the war.

Those who choose to overlook history are doomed to repeat it and I am afraid, this is happening under our noses as we speak. The only difference between the 30's and now is the fact we have the internet and social media to spread the word. The press is useless, they are just as complicit as they were back then.

Yes, it is intimidation and it is tyranny.

Where is Romney, the NYC/Wash DC/Beltway candidate of choice, because he's oh so very calm and moderate, not like us hate filled tea party types? Where is Mittens? If he had any backbone, he's be on this 24/7, making it clear that we are losing our freedom of speech, that Barry Soetoro is a lying hypocrite (why not arrest Bill Maher and the anti-Christian Hollywood Left?) and declaring under Barry, the USA is now Sharia compliant.

Blame the movie maker, not the terrorists who did the actual murder, nor the terrorists who burned the flag and continue to attack anything they can. No, intimidate the movie maker, and throw a bucket of cold water on free speech in an attempt to suppress it. It's the OBama Way!

Remember when the "artists" smeared poo on the Crucifix and the Christians killed a bunch of random people? Or how about when people peed on the Virgin Mary and called it art and the Christians killed a bunch of random people? Yeah, me neither. We're told to sit back & take it because it's freedom of expression! These jackwagons are only bold when their enemy is peaceful. I never saw such a bunch of cowards in all my life.

Per Michael Ledeen: "No serious person believes that an obscure movie shown to less than a dozen people many months ago was the "cause" of the simultaneous assaults in Cairo and Benghazi. Or that the assaults were unrelated, let alone spontaneous. Or that there was no state actor involved in the operation.

The event is strikingly similar to the "cartoon riots" against Denmark. In both cases there was no reaction to the original "offense" against Islam. Many months passed before the cartoons - duly altered to enhance the presumed "Islamophobia" - were publicly displayed to justify a carefully planned campaign that turned out to have been crafted by the Iranian regime and its Syrian ally. In the current case, the Iranians were ready with a crowd to demonstrate at the Swiss embassy in Tehran (our surrogate in Iran)."

Bottom Line what we have here is a person brought in for questioning for no reason about a film he made that the White House is using as a scapegoat to blame Mid-East violence on to deflect criticisms of the White house's own handling of Mid-East affairs.

Stunning. The Big Lie.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!! I have said this before....This ADMINISTRATION deserves NOT ONE ounce of support. This is an embarrassment and was done to show the Arab World how the WHIMP IN CHIEF reacts and to show his love for Muslims and hatred for Americans. He does not deserve to sit in that Office and he is unworthy of any term that relates to honor and dignity. How utterly shameful to see this man being dragged in the middle of the night over a You Tube Video...oh that is right over the BS charge he may have violated his parole....BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is Marxism 101 to the core and shame on the Sheriffs from the Communist Republic of California for adhering. California is nothing more than a 3rd world waste land and is what the rest of the country will look like if the Marxist is re-elected!

Vote Vote Vote and again if anyone tells me that Obama and Romney are the same...YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE FOOL!

If it's true that we really need to throw Obama out of office in November then why did the GOP nominate that flaky twit Mitt Romney?

Because Pete, whether we like it or not, that's the way people voted in the primaries.

That's not really true. The state parties had to keep changing their rules and violating Robert's Rules of Order to engineer the result that the Establishment wanted.

This is a historical fact which is well-documented.

Hey Pete, I know how you feel and who you wanted. I understand your extreme feeling of loss, disappointment.and pain. I'm with you on that.

The primaries are over, the BS occurred and we are stuck with Romney. He's not very many peoples first choice. BUT he is a lot better than Obama, and continuing to criticize him now in my view, isnt helpful. We have the totally whacked out media for that.

This is a blatant abuse of authority. Can't congress do something?

kong1967
kong1967

Obama has abused his authority repeatedly and Congress won't do anything. Technically this guy wasn't arrested for speaking out against Islam, so i don't know that Congress can prove that he was. He did violate his probation, apparently. It is fishy, however, that whenever someone embarrasses the administration they find a reason to drag them into custody. They already realeased this guy, but not until after they released his name and he is terrified to go back home. Maybe that was the intention.....to scare this guy into shutting his mouth.

They can, the question is WILL congress do something? And with Boehner and McConnell you can rest assured that that answer is NO. In fact Boehner will probably just respond by gruffing a little bit and then caving to Obama's next demand because he doesn't want to look mean or racist.
