“National”?
Why can’t people just pray without nationalizing it?
This kinda reminds me of this one sermon a priest I knew made: He
complained that Christmas was the one time of the year the church was
packed, but all the other sundays the church was routinely empty. - Tyler

I had no idea that it was this bad. I have only heard a little and did not sound as severe as it was reported. These poor people must have felt so alone. The beauty of the states are that we have always gone to the aid of each other. Has anyone gone to help? Why haven't the Gov and mayor asked for help? Why haven't the media given this as much attention instead of all the nonsense they report on? God Bless Tennessee. How can we help?

I watched the Colbert Report from last night and he had a pretty cool clip of a Blazer pulling a guy skiing on the waters until they got busted. You think with their town so devestated, they'd have more important things to worry about than cuffing a guy for trying to have some fun. It'd be one thing to stop him and give him a warning for his own safety, but the guy was CUFFED. C'mon, now.
I thought it would be fitting for us to remember and pray for those in Tennessee and other areas where there has been massive flooding recently. There hasn’t been alot of media coverage of this and now is as good a day as any to highlight it.
Thanks to Noel Sheppard from Newsbusters.org for providing links to the following charities where we can help:
I’m currently trying to locate charitable organizations doing storm relief. One is the Middle Tennessee Red Cross.
Also, WSMV-TV is doing a telethon Thursday evening, May 6, featuring Vince Gill, Keith Urban, Alison Krauss, Naomi Judd, Darius Rucker, Phil Vassar, Steve Wariner, Buddy Jewell, Lonestar, Bo Bice and Lee Roy Parnell.
Another option just sent to me by a reader is the Tennessee Emergency Relief Fund at www.CFMT.org online or 888-540-5200.
For those near the area or looking to head there to help out, Hands On Nashville has a listing of volunteer events.
Here’s an extensive list of organizations helping with the crisis from WKRN-TV.
