NBC chief foreign correspondent recounts being kidnapped in Syria for a week before escape

Wait a sec. He thanks NBC for all they've done including keeping the story secret. Was this real or a publicity stunt? Why did the kidnappers not milk this? Wouldn't this be good for them if they are trying to free their guys? It would certainly be an embarrassment to the US, I would think.

Something about this is odd.

He was going to a Hizbullah stronghold to meet whom? He claims he was going through rebel (FSA) territory. Doesn't he know which side Hizbullah is on? The Hizzies are Iranian they're on the side of al-Assad. The FSA is Sunni, they're on the FSA side along with AQ and every other cult of death Sunni jihadist movement in Syria.

They probably dumped him after they found out he was from NBC. The must have thought there was no advantage in holding anyone from a lousy network like that.

Escape story sounds a bit too good to be true.

If its too good to be true, its not quite believable.

Don't really explain just what they were doing is Syria in the first place.

Despite not being a fan of Mr. Engle or his pro Arab reporting, I'm glad he is safe. His return must have been a wonderful Christmas gift to his family and loved ones.

Some are saying Syria is a key part of Obama's plans to promote the establishment of a global Islamic Caliphate and destroy Israel, UK and the USA.
