Good job. It's about time someone cared enough to help women deal with the guilt and shame that is sure to follow a tragiac situation as realizing after it's to late that you have killed your baby. Women have been so deceived for so long by so many then after reality hits them it is to late. The good news is when it is to late for us that is the wright time for God. Through Jesus Christ we can be forgiven cleanesed and freed from the guilt we have from our sins no matter what they are. We all are sinners and need to be forgiven no matter what we have done. That's why God sent His son Jesus into the world to give His life as the supreme sacrifice for ALL our sins. It is a free gift to us, but not to God He gave His only son. We can't earn it, can never be good enough. It is free and that is good news and that's Gospel (Gospel means good news). As long as we are alive it's never to late. God's gift of salvation is the greatest gift one can receive, however a gift is not ours until we except and receive it. The question is have you received your free gift.
Your words touch my heart, even as a male. May I add that even when a woman can accept forgiveness, she will always remember it, but in a new way of freedom from guilt. With God, He forgives AND forgets our sins. Isn't that awesome.??
I have 2 friends who both had abortions. With one, we've never discussed it at all. The other gets infuriated at the mention. And mind you, I've only mentioned it once. I think most women try to forget because the memory is too painful.
Agreed. There are psychological effects due to our inborn consciences instilled into us by our Creator. How else would we know good from bad? Sin is not just a blank word.
You're right. To sin is to err or to stray away from the life Jesus would want us to lead as moral human beings. But to err is human also. We can only learn from our short falls and try to do better.
Debbie, Although I signed off from commentng a couple of days ago, I am replying to your comment.
Thank you for your reply. I agree with you it isn't always easy to eresist temptations. Abortion is such a life and death issue, it breaks my heart to realize a vulnerable baby growing in the womb is not protected by the the couple .
Adoption istead of abortion would result in a future of much less regret, and better memory, knowing life was not taken away, and at least given an opportunity for a good life with good parents.
55 million abortions, and over 1 million each year, is America's continuous holocaust. This could result in the downfall of a great country. It's so sad.
This is a needed program, the pro-aborts refuse to acknowledge this issue exists for women. I think mainly to keep women away from other women who have been traumatized by this liberal position.
I pray for these women. I could never do it.. but I do remember a time when it entered my head as a way out..for about two seconds..then I remembered my bible..
Did not he who made me in the womb make them?
Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?"
Job 31:15
"For you created my inmost being;
You knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
Your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be"
Psalm 139:13-16
Rescue those being led away to death;
hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
If you say, "But we knew nothing about this,"
Does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who guards your life know it?
Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?"
Proverbs 24:11-12
Rescue those being led away to death;
hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
If you say, "But we knew nothing about this,"
Does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who guards your life know it?
Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?"
Proverbs 24:11-12
Powerful Scripture. Thanks for posting it.
It's a new offering to the ever-increasing political vitriol around the abortion debate...I get the impression, the show is exactly not vitriolic. Unless the show itself is vitriolic, then this is a false statement. But, I have no doubt the feminazi response to the show will overflow with vitriol.
It's not from what I've watched. There are some quick stabs at the other side about the word "choice" but they're minimal. Then they get into the meat of the show. It doesn't appear to be the typical "reality show" format like Real Housewives or whatever.
I have a sister-in-law that had an abortion many years ago.Later in her life she became a Christian, and still wrestles with the guilt of her decision.I try to assure her that she has been forgiven, and she realizes that. The problem is,she can't forgive herself.
Forty years ago. It never leaves your mind or your heart and I know his forgiveness has been given, but it is seared into your soul. It doesn't stop your soul from wondering what that child would have been or could have been.
I had an abortion almost 6 years ago and I was about to make that same comment. I went to Catholic school, knew and believed that abortion was wrong, and for reasons too complex to get into on here, I went through with it anyways. I haven't forgiven myself but I stopped hating myself because I knew that ultimately, I had to take responsibility for what I had done and accept that at that exact time, no matter how wrong-headed my thinking was, I did what I wanted. I couldn't go to Church because I felt that God could never forgive me. After a couple years (and watching every aspect of my life fall apart) I went to an evangelical church with a friend and something that was said made me realize that God had forgiven me a long time ago....it was now up to me to forgive myself. That was the most powerful moment in my healing process that I can remember and I'm still a work in progress, but I'm nowhere near the low points of locking out the world and staying in bed for weeks at a time. I hope this show can help women seed what happens better than the words of people like me.
ALL of our lives are a redemptive work in progress. Paul says to work out your Salvation. God's provisions and promises to His children are YES, YES, YES. What a great gift!!
Thanks for sharing.
Don't forget the part where Paul says to work out our own salvation with "fear and trembling"....that is very sobering. Of course, that comes after having obeyed the Gospel. :)
You would make a fantastic guest and testimonial on that show.
Everything you wrote relates to stories I have heard before. You believe Jesus died for your sins, and you accept that, don't you. It would be a sin against Jesus if you didn't believe it. It would be like saying he died for nothing. As human beings, we are not worthy enough to even die for our own sins. It takes a sinless god to be worthy enough to die for our sins. That's why we keep hearing over and over again, that God the Father gave His own Son to die in our place. Not only is that a great gift, but the fact we can become sons and daughters of God also. What a gift THAT is. So accept the gift, and one day you and your child will be together forever.
I hope the father responsible for your pregnancy will come to terms with this as well. God bless you.
Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
Matthew 9:10-13
"10 And as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Jesus and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12 But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”
I can't watch the video. It keeps saying error, source not supported. This happens a lot on this site.
I use either IE or Firefox. Most all videos here require me to turn off my tracking protection or allow Active X to view them here. But I always can view them if I choose to.
Try it on a different browser 57Thunderbird. Sometimes I have to go onto AOL, or Internet Explorer to get them to show up for me.
Hmmm, it looks interesting. I do hesitate because of what has become of "Christian" shows. I know I can be very cynical about this, but I do hope that this will have the positive outcome that is intended.
This is positive.
The only way to combat the darkness and ignorance is through prayer (God) and education. I fully support an effort to tell the truth to a lied to America (and the world) and this is positive.
You may be right.
However, "reality" programming is addictive for many people (Personally, I despise them) and they ARE breaking new ground here by attempting this approach. I think this could be one of a multi-faceted approach to educating America. It sure worked for the left...
I agree, there are better ways... but again, I view this as positive overall.
I'm very interested to know whatever information they can provide.
I think it will be a help to other women , especially those who are alone with their memories and may be going through psychological strain. Even men can benefit by understanding the consequences of relationships that can risk pregnancies. Men can have long term psychological effects also, and usually keep them to themselves.
I believe the show will be a hit, because 55 million abortions have been performed and still over 1 million each year.
A country that kills its young in such a magnitude risks its future, to say nothing of the displeasure of God.
Best wishes to the show, and I hope and pray it will drastically cut down on abortions, and bankrupt the selfish, greedy abortion mills.
Come to think of it, I'm sure I heard the same thing a few years ago.
The consequences of our actions are evident sooner or later----what you correctly say, 'the ramifications'. Good comment.
I'm hoping somewhere along the line someone points out the link between abortion and breast cancer. The ramifications of abortion kills women along with the children.
" if they are willing to repent and turn to the Lord."
There is the key. Thank you for making that most important point.
Yes, and Jesus died for the sins of priests who abused children and some Bishops who covered it up in order not to upset catholics too.
The Catholic church has organized anti abortion marches long before now. Yes, Jesus died for the women who aborted, too. The justice of Jesus to the aborted children will be pure and rewarding to them. One day mother, father and child will be together if the mother and father regret what they did, and ask for forgiveness and accept that Jesus died for those sins for them. When women can do that, the only thing left to do is to forgive themselves.
You wrote a good commentary. Thank you for that.
As a Christian, I would guess their message will focus on how Christ gave his life to pay for our sins, and abortion is one of many such sins. There is hope and forgiveness through Christ alone, and that forgiveness supersedes the evil of abortion. Because Christ forgives, these women might be able to forgive themselves, if they are willing to repent and turn to the Lord.
It looks as though North Carolina is breaking out and going back to their Conservative values
Hopefully the Nation will follow
Pro-Life is not necessarily conservative. I know a lot of Democrats that are pro-life and if you look at the younger generation they are increasingly pro-life. Take note they voted overwhelmingly for Obama...twice.
What needs to happen is we need to teach the youngsters to connect the dots of pro-life to freedom and what that means and translates out to. We wouldn't have news articles about controlling the behavior of smokers and the overweight if people could connect the dots. Much of the pro-life movement comes from a place of feelings, like the left loves to do, instead of thinking.
Conservatives need to capitalize on this and the philosophy behind pro-life and freedom instead of assuming it is a conservative value.
And yes there is a philosophy above and beyond that rooted in religion.
With respect to the increasing numbers of young people who are pro-life, I heard one make a comment the other day that this is in large part due to them having the ultrasounds from their own fetal development - one can hardly look at that and think about ripping that "clump of cells" out of her own body.
Sure. Not a clarification really, it was merely an additional thought prompted by your comment about the youth being increasingly pro-life.
Okaaay...not sure where you are going with that and what you are trying to say.
Can you clarify?
Conversely, some fiscal/political conservatives are not social/moral conservatives.
We certainly discovered that during the primaries with Drudge and Coulter.
And we have learned some who say they are conservatives are really not - Chris Christie and Romney...
