You know it is amazing that Texas has done so well with the rest of the country being ravaged by Obama and the Dems. I read that if it were’nt for Texas, the unemployment rate would be 10.1%.
That’s how good Texas is doing! Obama needs to thank Rick Perry.

I’m waiting for him to actually turn into Superman and win the 2012 election.

If you don’t focus too close, in the top left corner at 1:29 mark, it looks like him in a cape. Just my imagination, I suppose.

Good ears there, TRS. I thought 2001 Space Oddesy(or however you spell it).
But then I get those old blockbusters mixed up, and HOPED it wasn’t Planet of the Apes!

It reminded me of some of the music from “Dances with Wolves”. Loved the music in that film!

I liked the subtle shot of the no left turn sign!

Perry campaign did well picking up Tim Pawlenty’s video man, Lucas Baiano. He’s good.
I’ve seen it before in Perry’s ads, but I always like seeing the “no left turn” road sign.

My first thought was the song was from a western style movie or TV show. Which led me to one of two songs; either the theme to “How the West was Won” or the theme to “Wild Wild West”?

You probably love the music of Ennio Morricone or Lalo Schiffrin? They wrote the music for A Fistful of Dollars, Once upon a Time, Mission Impossible, Return from Witch Mountain, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and countless of the Western Spaghetti’s theme movies. They were my favorites when I was a kid.

Sounds good to me!

oops, wrong direction. sorry.

Hehe, love it. I haven’t heard them called spaghetti westerns for ages. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

The debating season is over. Now the election will be driven by campaign appearances and TV ads. This one is outstanding. The Forest Gump Strategy is working.
This posting at RedState sums up why I support Perry. Warning to Perry Haters™: do not click this link.
Proud to support Perry - Anonymous
The debate season is far from over. Here is the schedule of upcoming debates – and this is just for January (all times are eastern standard time):
Jan. 7 – 9 pm on ABC
Jan. 8 – 9 am (yes AM!) on NBC
Jan. 16 – 9 pm on FOX
Jan. 19 – time TBD on CNN
Jan. 23 – time TBD on NBC
Jan. 26 – time TBD on CNNThere is only one debate scheduled *so far* for February.
The entire primary debate calendar is here:
http://www.2012presidentialelectionnews.com/2012-debate-schedule/2011-2012-primary-debate-schedule/There is still time for Paul to show his nutiness, for Perry to bumble and stumble, for Newt to school the moderators, and for Mitt to get all red-faced and flustered.
The fat lady hasn’t sung yet.

Jan. 8th on a Sunday at 9:00 a.m. eastern time. Let’s see, a lot of people are either already in church or on their way. If you’re in the mid-west or southwest, a lot of folks are probably finishing breakfast and getting ready to go to church. And for those of us on the west coast….. it will be 6:00 a.m. and we’ll still be sleeping and I don’t plan to set my alarm any earlier to watch NBC!
What the heck is NBC thinking…. oh never mind, it’s NBC. I don’t want to give them ratings anyway.
- Anonymous
They probably only wanted the non church-going, northeastern liberal New Yorkers crowd anyway. They don’t care about the rest of us.
I’m sure their purpose for the debate was not for us to see it, but for them to get slanted soundbites for the evening newscasts.

Softer gentler “The Magnificent Seven or Marlboro soundtrack”

I thought about the Magnificent Seven also. That was a great movie!

WOW, yet another great ad! Keep them coming Gov. Perry. He must have a great ad agency because they are all so professionally done, and right on message.
Great job by the Perry campaign! It’s too bad he didn’t get on the ballot in VA, as I feel bad for his supporters there that will not have a chance to vote for him. But, VA doesn’t dictate that national results. So I still have hope.
- Anonymous
I hope Rick is the GOP nominee. He’s great in one on one talks etc. Debates are another issue, but they should be over. I couldn’t watch them unless I had one of the websites open for their comments to keep me amused.
- http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez
There are 6 debates in January and 1 in Feb, 3 in March..
- Anonymous
They are designed to get them to attack each other so that Obama, etc doesn’t have to do anything except use clips of the attacks on the candidate that will be our nominee and use them in ads. They are all “got you” questions, that’s why I won’t watch w/o some comments at a some websites.

Thanks Scoop for putting up something uplifting and fun after a long week. I must say I couldn’t play “Name That Tune”. (For those posting here that are as old as I am remember that game show…. it was a blast when we were kids.)
I’m 100% behind Perry as I think he would be a great president. But please keep reminding people to pay attention to their Senate and House races as they are critical if we are going to turn the corner in 2012 and take our country back.
- Anonymous
What an uplifting positive ad. This is the nominee we need. Perry is a consistent Conservative with the jobs record and the vision for the future that will enable him to beat Obama. He has supported the TEA party and fought against Obamacare and the EPA, he has fought to secure the border. Time for a Perry surge.
- Anonymous
Best ad yet…. Perry finally seems to be hitting his stride and using the one thing none of the others have to his advantage. Success in this economy. Keep it coming governor, keep reciting the numbers and reminding them of who you are. Run the race you want to run and let the chips fall where they may.
- K-Bob
Hmmm. Has elements of the Theme From Patton. I can’t place the music, though. It’s very much like a movie theme.

It has that ever so common big majestic brass sound; trumpet, french horns, euphoniums, tuba, trombones – you get the drift.

I just love this ad, it is very inspiring and positive. Rick Perry comes out with the best ads, it is easier when you have a good candidate and record to run on.
Rick Perry, the most consistent conservative experienced candidate running. Rick Perry has the record, the record of accomplishments and experience to get our country back on track. Rick Perry has the best record to contrast against Obama.
Go Rick Perry 2012

Great ad…he is also drawing large crowds in Iowa.
Keeping my fingers crossed. - TxGold

Reminded me of the heroic theme from Secondhand Lions. I love that movie.

Excellent ad…I agree, Scoop.
This one is one of his best, as good as the “President Zero” ad.The uplifting music is a nice touch.
It reinforces his message, that “our best days are still before us”.Perry has said, repeatedly, that our regulations and tax structure should be kept “simple and predictable”…so that businesses and job creators will be freed up to do what they do: Create jobs and tend to their businesses.
This is what makes a vibrant economy.Perry’s consistent stances on sound conservative principles is one of the things I like about him.
In that regard…he himself is predictable.
I like that in a leader.
We haven’t had that in a long time.
It is stressful to not know what to expect next from our President.
With Perry…I know that he would always be on the side of ‘what is best’ for the country.Perry 2012.

Yet another good ad. He has been pumping out the dollars for these ads and they don’t seem to be working…yet.
He’s in for the long haul, which is what I want to hear. I get disappointed when a candidate I like drops out early over one or two bad results. Give it a chance, keep fighting. I know….it takes money…..lots of it.
- Anonymous
That was goosebump inducing. Most excellent. Happy New Year to my fellow Scoopers.

I am a Ron Paul supporter, but that ad was well done.
- Anonymous
This is what I WANT to hear…a candidate who is concerned with the future of America and a candidate who speaks positively. Now I want to see some ACTION.

As a Texan, I find that it is too bad this ad has no relevance to reality.
The guy raised taxes by many billions, increased the budget 85%, got the debt to 4 times what it was, and helped exacerbate the situation by giving benefits to illegal aliens.

He raised taxes by billions?

Perry is still my choice. I hope he starts gaining traction.

I like Perry. But, I fear the the Bummer will out slick him in debate “Chicago Style”.

While this ad sounds really good….Rick Perry’s record in Texas does not match what he has done. This sounds more like listen to what I say and not consider what I do.
Taxes in Texas rose under Rick Perry and spending by the Texas State Governement spending increased significantly.
By 2009, Business taxes in Texas were 8% HIGHER than the national average. Texas is the 18th highest tax state for businesses. (according to the Texas Council on State Taxation). Some industries are very heavily taxes in Texas, for example, utility companies pay about $60,000 in taxes per employee in Texas state and local taxes. Texas has a very regressive tax system, the poorest 20% of Texas voters pay over 9% of their income in taxes. The richest 20% pay 3% of their income in taxes. Simply put, the higher your income, the lower the percent you pay in taxes if you are in Texas. Texas also has high property taxes, with an average residential property tax rate of 1.88% (10th highest in the country), and an average business/industrial property tax rate of 2.52%, 3th highest in the country. Texas has the 11th highest state sales tax rate at 6.25%.
Spending in Texas has increased 79.2% (over 18% if inflation is considered) while Gov. Perry was Governor. Perry raised taxes and raised spending while governor.
So the ad does not really reflect the facts that Perry is a Tax and Spender while running the state of Texas.
So beware because Perry is running under false flags with this ad!!!!!!
