It's a fallacy to think that national gun laws can be compared to Chicago's gun laws. It is easy to buy a gun from outside of a city or state then take it into the new locality.
For people who want to control guns, Chicago isn't a template of actually having controlled guns. There are a lot of guns in Chicago. What liberal gun controllers argue is that if people didn't have guns, then there would be less murderers.
EDIT: That being said, Democrats don't actually support materially decreasing people's access to guns. They simply want to decrease CERTAIN guns (ie assault riffles) but not all guns. So it's really a pointless conversation that Democrats are having. Do Democrats really think that someone can kill someone else with an assault riffle but they can't kill someone else with a handgun? No "gun control" policy will be effective until it actually materially limits people's access to guns.
Don't you just love when the dare I say lady in essence states scr3w the truth what about the evil NRA video??? No not the video that depicts “Bullet to the Head of the NRA,” The gun safety video..... Libtards.......... Nut cases.... Wack Jobs...... out to steal every freedom they can.......
I remember it was only two years ago where a lot of conservatives thought Newt was an establishment RINO.
He was for health care mandates just like Romney, was actually to Romney's left on immigration and would've been an amnesty guy, got on a couch with Pelosi, and was another one for the bailouts. Only a year and a month ago, many here were suspicious of him. I remember Bachmann's fiery attacks on Newt Romney's liberal record, and how he completely dismissed her. But then he was rehabilitated into the most anti-Romney conservative because well, he had an aggressive, in-your-face tone (which we can get from Trump and even Christie) and he said he was.
And don't forget Obama took Newt's playbook of trying to destroy Romney in the primaries (face of rich guy, offshore acounts, etc) to smash Romney with the same accusations during the presidential election.
I would like to blame it on the Left - but the FACT is that all this comes right out of ENGLAND. In fact, all the blabber, the tactics and the strategy, is straight from the House of Lords !!! Furthermore, BOTH sides were ramming this thru Parliament. In fact a lot of it was directed at the Labor movement.
The "assault weapon ban" is the least of Feinstein's garbage. Look for things like renewable licences, and anything that reduces a Right to a Privilege . And for those who think it makes sense for the police to decide, read up on New York in the era of "Legs" Diamond.
It doesn't beat her ban on assault weapons in brazenness to defile the Constitution and implement tyranny that's in the open at this stage.
Newt has the experience, the smarts, and the guts. I only wish he was the one to run against and debate obama in this last election that was stolen. Obama and the left always wanted Romney and that should have been the GOP's cue to nominate Newt, but as usual we get taken by the left. They dont play fair and the right is all about being fair. In the end our truths will prevail. Out of those three really Newt and West would be the best combo. I voted for McCain because of Palin but I dont see her on any ticket that the media can play with. Palin will have her time but I dont see it in the next election. She needs more space between her last nomination. The generations need to change a bit for her to prevail. Also her son is still too young for her to be the best president or VP that she can be imo.

You note they cut him off as soon as possible wouldn't want to much truth out there at one time. Now all we have to do is clone him and send him back to House as Speaker. Just knowing Newt was there would send Obama into the corner crying and whining about how it's Bush's fault.
Any time the media doesn't like what they hear, they become cut-off artists. We ALL know they are getting direction 'from the top', and they're being very well overpaid to sell their souls for dirty money.
I do not know the hosts of that morning show but you can easily see how short they were with Speaker Gingrich! One sided lefty bums!
I totally agree. But it could never happen because of his personal baggage. Personally, it didn't bother me, but they (the media) really unleashed the dogs on him when it came to his personal life.
New York is going to be so sorry they passed all those restrictions. The media won't report on it, but they are going to see crime go up, and neighboring states with more liberal gun laws will see theirs go down. (Notice I used the world 'liberal' in its original meaning.)
It will be interesting to see whether folks in NY will be patsies and go in to re-register their guns.
I think they need to post an interactive map of New York showing all the households with a salt shaker on the table. It might just match the gun owners' map.
We have all seen Democratic Talking Heads change the subject when Chicago and guns come up. They refuse to even admit what is going on there. I am talking about Democrats and Media folks.

What I love about Newt is that he is always in control of the interview. This is a clear example of how the corrupt MSM has a leftist agenda - but Newt makes sure that his own talking points dominate. Now if only the rest of the GOP would follow his example...

If this kind of cogent, erudite argumentation continues, the US Constitution will be restored within a month.

We shouldn't waste taxpayer dollars on any sex education in schools, period. Abstinence or the one with the condoms that they want.
Strangers shouldn't be entrusted to teach our kids about sex. We should educate them with "the talk" at home. We shouldn't have to waste our taxpayer money on millions of dollars into that, rather it's the "big government compassionate conservative" sex ed that Bush promoted or the kind that experiences kids to Nancy Pelosi teaching kids about condoms (which would honestly work better for abstinence than anything).
CBS should try to understand this; Obama's idea of gun control is for new controls to be applied to the people who put him in office, but his entourage to be fully armed to 'protect' him against us I suppose.

It used to be that editors made sure the truth was verified and confirmed. No 'opinions' allowed, or biased reporting, or compromising, or trying to 'balance' a story.
Now it seems reporters take direction from editors to make leftwing agendas look good and rightwing anything look bad.

Newt cut to the quick on this one and as far as I have seen was the first person to equate Chicago's strict gun laws with the number of murders to show how ineffective gun laws are.
Yeah, let's see some confiscation of illegal guns in the inner cities going on before they tell law abiding citizens to give up their 2nd amendment rights.
