Newt hits Romney hard on his dishonest PAC ads

Newt says that Mitt should be man enough to stand up and admit these dishonest ads are his and says that if we can’t trust him to level with the American people about his ads, then how can we expect him to level with the American people about anything as president:

For a lifetime politician like newt, you would think he would know that negative ads are part of politics, Im sick of hearing him whine and cry about it instead of doing something about it. Instead of crying about it fight back. What is negative about telling the truth anyway? flip flopping, 1.8M from freddie, mandates? Are they not the truth?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

good point I’m tired of the whining also…

    • Anonymous

I think Romney will live to regret these tactics and his self righteous attitude. Won’t be by my hand, but I think he will regret it.

      • Anonymous

I dont know, the Obama Team and DNC and the other candidates have been dishing out ads against romney, and romney is dishing it back. Newt is only whining about it because he doesnt have money to run ads.

        • Anonymous

According to the e-mail updates I’ve received Newt’s campaign raised $10 million dollars in the last quarter of 2011. He should have the money to run ads from this point on.

          Watch out Mitt.

        • Anonymous

If you listen carefully to Newt’s comments, it is not his complaint about the attack ads per se, but it’s the PAC system which fronts for the candidate without the candidate paying for the ad. And if you have a rich constituency to pay up the damage can multiply for the opponent. Yeah, Newt is hurting… obviously. But the practice is simply unethical. You may dislike Newt, but it’s perfectly valid for him to point this out.

His argument is …. look… you can run a negative ad, but own up to it and claim it as your own. If it is a false negative ad, you will be exposed as being a dishonest political broker. But if it is a truthful negative ad, the truth will stand.

Again, it’s not the negative ad per se, but the deceptive PAC system.

          • Anonymous

And like Romney has said, by law he can’t communicate with the PAC’s, and why should he? The ads are mostly true and if Newt had the money, trust me he would go all out negative like he is doing now.

            • Anonymous

              “The ads are mostly true”….

              BINGO!

Newt has said he will tell the truth in his attacks on Romney.

        • cabensg

Or maybe it’s because the ads contained lies. I guess if someone is lying about you it’s okay not to call them on it. Why should it concern you if the only reason you’ve fallen from first place is because someone has spent millions to lie about you. Why be upset…right?

Yeah, ’cause Mittens didn’t whine and cry when he was interviewed by Brett Baier. Oh, wait…. he did. And nobody was even attacking him.

    • cabensg

He’s not a lifetime politician. Changing your mind and saying why is not flip-flopping. He actually did tell the truth instead of whining and actually suggested a solution. Maybe reading a bio would make you knowledgeable about a candidate and give some credibility to your comments.

WTF does Piers Morgan know about the “American way”?

The only one that needs a smack is the lying manipulative lying SOB media scum like Morgan. Perry’s got the right idea on handling them.

New Direction – New Solutions – Newt Gingrich in 2012

    • Anonymous

we need someone who is not a government insider, newt is the same old news and has enough material in his closet for Obama to have a field day with.

  • http://www.planettron.com NickDeringer

Sorry, Newt, your 15 minutes of fame are up. Everyone is stampeding on over to Rick Santorum.

If we can’t trust a man to level with his first 2 wives, how can we trust him to level with the American people?

no separate hell for fornicators, from adulterers just one hell for sin is sin. BUT there is a Heaven for those that have Godly sorrows for their sin(s) and have repent and forgiven. So run away from being judgemental, for there’s only one JUDGE.Newt has asked for forgiveness, from God and people he’s hurt along the way.On the other hand, we are admonished and inspired to forgive so we may also be forgiven . My point is , none is perfect. But I would consider my vote upon whom I believe will defeat Obama, and not do what Obama is doing.

I could write a long reply to how unfair, and oh so pious the attack on his his 2 failed marriages is. But I’m tired. I dont know if you’re conservative or what, but Saintly Glenn Beck was an alcaholic and vulgar p.o.s that cheated his first wife and screwed up his kids lives, yet he’s around now preaching the gospel constantly. Rush limbaugh was also divorced, what an evil low life huh? and those RX pills! Oh my!
Amazing how some people are allowed forgiveness and understanding and others are just destined for Hell no matter what they do. At least there are many perfect and pious mortal judges to warn us.

      • http://www.planettron.com NickDeringer

I’d love to write a long rebutal to your post, but Newt is finished. He’s been exposed for who he is and it’s not good.

Romney’s Republican thuggery tactics against Newt are striate out of the Labor Union playbooks. This not conservatism, that is organized racketeering unless you believe “the ends always justifies the means?”

    • Anonymous

what in the heck are you talking about? What Labor Union playbooks? How is it conservative or not conservative to run attack ads? What has conservatism anything to do with this. Gingrich is perfectly justified to run ads as well. Nothing in Romney’s, Perry’s, or Paul’s ads are false and fallacious.

I just wish candidates would focus on themselves and what their policies would be, what their beliefs are and what they will do to bring this country back instead of focusing on what someone else did 10, 15, 20 years ago. Tell us why we should vote for you, not why we should not vote for them!!

    • Anonymous

      Profound!

    • cabensg

Actually this is what Newt tried to do from the beginning and it was a winning message. I think he’ll get back on message and turn this around. He needs his own ads refuting the lies and showing his conservative record of actual accomplishments.

Attack is fine with me as long as it’s true and a proven fact. If ads are false and unproven, a real leader with spiritual depth will seek to disapprove such display. And I am not talking about a religious leader, I’m done with religion 1000 years ago.We have an occupant of the of the WH with religious supporters of all kind and party that thrive in falsifying statements, motives, agendas, etc and behave and act so shamelessly. That may be Politic, but the citizen of this great country do not deserve it one bit.No country, no bussiness, no marriage, no relationship can ever be build with dishonesty. From all the pretentious behavior of our current parties and leadership in the hill, do we feel suprised by the current condition of our ecconomy ?
Let us all smart up in this election circle, our hopes and dreams are within us and DEPEND UPON US,not on the gov.

I don’t know how you can disagree with Newt here. “Ensure that every ad for a campaign is approved by the candidate, every ad.”

Romney is a backstabbing, gutter snipe who allows these PACs (of rats) to do the dirty work for him. Romney is not paying for the attack ads. The funds are not being used to show what kind of man and President Romney could be. The funds, none from his pocket are being used to trash one of the very few men in this race who actually have experience in high political office.

Romney is a manipulative con man. Can you actually imagine shaking hands with this wimp? Does he look like the kind of man you could work for, go to war for or respect?

It’s a con. He’s a shadow. The mafia deacons and southie’s in the Romney’s back office will do his dirty work while he gets a manicure. His organization is an exact match to Obama’s, like a photographic negative. I would vote Ron Paul before Romney and I think the Virginia Republican elite are going to be very embarrassed when Ron Paul takes that state.

Here’s another helpful Newt interview by Reuters: http://www.reuters.com/video/2012/01/02/newt-opens-up?videoId=227755798&videoChannel=1003&refresh=true

He comes across as believable, genuine, competent, willing to fight tooth and toenail against Obama and his ideology (Islamism, marxism) and backers (MoBrohood) and against general liberalism.

The difference between Newt and Romney:
Romney claims conservatism, but governed liberal left.
Newt gives lip service to the right, but legislated conservative right.

A quote from Red State on Romney:
“Re: “Romney changes his beliefs so often he has probably agreed with Obama on every major issues.”
Says it all. This is one of the biggest reasons Romney will lose. I can see the debates now. Romney tries to make about any point and all Obama has to say is ‘Mitt you agreed with me back in 200X’. The worse part is Obama would be telling the truth for once.”

Romney can’t stand firm and hold the conservative line because he never has.

(Re Santorum: backing by Murdoch and some of his voting gives me doubts.)

    • Anonymous

Romney is a democrat, pure and simple. I agree.

  • StNikao

Romney might make a good peacetime president…BUT we are not at war from all sides and within against a pernicious coalition of enemies from the top down.

Romney is a gentle, quiet, fatherly man and does not exhibit the mettle or convictions to muster the forcefulness, cunning, resolve necessary deal with this kind of enemy. Which of the can

    • StNikao

Correction – BUT we ARE at war from all sides

    • StNikao

Correction II (sorry) – Which of the candidates does have the kind of mettle to deal with Islamic assault against US from outside and within and to take on Obama?

Bachmann – wants to continue foreign aid to Pakistan and other so-called allies. Is pro-Israel.
Newt – He stood up against the lie of Palestinian victimhood. Pro-Israel.
Perry – Fell for the peaceful Islam lie, had school children indoctrinated about peaceful Islam in public schools. Wants to end foreign aid to enemies.
Santorum – knows a lot about Iran and Islam and was not afraid to say we are at war against Islamists.
Paul would bring troops home, defend our borders, stop foreign aid, arms to enemies.

      What do you think?

All I have to say is that it is about time Newt hit back and RINO Romney and his lies!

    • Anonymous

So, if Newt says it’s a lie it’s a lie, right? If you check his record he most certainly did have positions being pointed out by the ads. Instead of attacking the messenger, why doesn’t he instead explain why he has had some very progressive and liberal positions in his past?

      • http://twitter.com/113KriEger 13Krieger

        name them…..

      • Anonymous

Man made global warming. He still believes in it. He just thinks it was a “mistake” to sit on the couch with Pelosi….obviously for image reasons and not for ideological reasons.

He has supported cap and trade, and when he says it’s a lie he is a liar.

        • http://twitter.com/113KriEger 13Krieger

Nope you are wrong. He has been an ardent opponent of Cap and Trade and does believe there is climat change but it is not man made.

then please take a look at this….

Newt says he is against cap and trade.
Here is Newt from 2008 on the stupidity of cap and trade regulations on jacuzzis.

Oh and just to back that up. Here is Newt form the 1990s on C-Span testfying in the Senate against Cap and Trade.

          http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b13_1240607482

Newt Gingrich says “Well, I’ve said it’s one of the dumbest things I’ve done in recent years — it was an effort on my part to say that CONSERVATIVES are concerned about the environment — we have better solutions,” Gingrich said of the television ad. “I actively opposed cap and trade — I testified against it the same day Al Gore testified for it — but the commercial is just a mistake.

So this is much to do about nothing.

Problem is, Newt, that the ads aren’t dishonest and they portray your past positions and efforts pretty accurately. The liar I see here is you. You are accusing Romney of running the ads, but the SuperPacs running the ads are not operated by Romney and he cannot tell them (by law) what ads to run. It is not Romney’s job to do PR control for you, idiot.

Additionally, you continue to say the ads are lies, but most points made in them can be proven to be true…and that makes you a liar again.

Having members in the SuperPacs that have been past Romney staffers or whatnot doesn’t mean jack. They are not on his staff now and being a Romney supporter doesn’t make him responsible for what they do.

Disclaimer…I am not voting for Romney, but Newt is a lying jackass and he doesn’t want his record pointed out. Too bad, Newt, that’s what happens when you have a record.

    • Anonymous

How do you know what is true and false about Newt? You read it on the internet so it must be true. I don’t know whats true about any of the candidates past cause I’m too busy living my life to care. One thing I do know, out of all of them,I like the message Newt is putting out now. He’s as smart as a whip and he has an answer for everything that comes at him. You don’t here him, ahhhhhhh or ummmmm or grasping for answers like a stumble bum when asked a question.

      • Anonymous

This is eery. You have the same pic that a lefty used on another site named James. Is your name James? I hope not, because he’s a lunatic.

You don’t know where I get my information, so your condescending attitude is BS. Newt has a record, you know, and he leaves a trail that cannot be erased.

In that ad with Pelosi, it directs you to a website dedicated to fighting man-made global warming. If he didn’t believe in it, why participate in an ad promoting a fight against something that doesn’t exist?…..

        http://climaterealityproject.org/

He said he never supported cap and trade, which is a lie….

        http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2011/dec/07/newt-gingrich/gingrich-claims-he-never-favored-cap-and-trade/ and…

        http://www.factcheck.org/2011/12/gingrich-on-climate-change/

He supported reducing CO2 emissions to curb man-made global warming (his own words)……

He claims the Romney ads are all lies….which is a lie…

        http://factcheck.org/2011/12/attacks-against-gingrich-how-accurate/

I actually check for facts. I don’t take his word for it like you do.

        • Anonymous

If you noticed it is a right hand. My name is not James, And if you would take notice to two key words I used…..past and now.

          • Anonymous

Ok, I will give you that. People’s positions evolve, and I hope he has changed instead of just being politically expedient. Romney says a lot of the right things, too, but he also has a record and I don’t know whether I can trust that he will govern as a conservative.

I just woke up, so I haven’t checked yet….but I think Bachmann and Perry are out. The only candidate I have left on my list is Santorum, and this is the first fire he has shown the entire campaign…so it may not stick. I have problems with his addiction to earmarks, though. The only two choices might be Romney and Gingrich…well, Ron Paul the moron.

In any case, between those three Newt will be my pick. He does run a mean debate. I just wish I’d hear him say that government being in the way is the problem. Instead, most of what I hear is more big government solutions. Once I hear that Santorum is out, you will see my demeanor towards Newt change here. I will support him.
