There is no excuse for murdering Americans over the accidental burning of a non-living book made of paper. How many Americans murdered those who deliberately burned the American flag ? How many Americans rioted over the murdering of innocent Christians ?
If all the cost and destruction of life and property in wars were put to doing good and caring for each other, what a wonderful world this would be. After over 10 years of a war in which American troops and taxpayer funds were committed to trying to establish a working democratic Afganistan what the result is a huge loss of human life for Americans and our allies and a huge financial burden placed on those who would do good.
Newt Gingrich is correct in that there should have been a joint public appearance of the President of Afganistan and the highest ranking American military officer istationed in Afganistan both stating that a regretable error on both sides had been made and that steps would immediately be implimented to prevent this from ever happening again. We all bleed the same color blood.
Good for you Newt. It is good to hear somebody in politics has some cojones. I too am sick and tired of always hearing Baroke Obummer apologizing. We will not gain anything by operating from a position of humility. Those we are trying to do "business" with see it as a sign of weakness and cowardice. Negotiating from a position of weakness is just plain giving in.
Bullcrap on anyone who thinks we should apologize. Get us out of Afghanistan. We have no need to be there. You will burn the bible and no one gets and apology.
Burn baby burn! Islam is a camouflage for terrorists, murderers, pedophiles, wife beaters, and has NO PLACE in America! Burn every koran you find and bomb them back to the stone age (which really is not very far for them to go).
I know Newt has baggage, but I like him and think he'd make an excellent president. He is so right on this issue and many others.
As long as there is an "illusion" of a "dichotomy" of two sides rather than a sense of oneness..... there will never be anything that is solved...in ANY area of our lives, whether that be war, abortion, crime, prisons or any other (seemingly ) "controversial" issue....it's time to look at the solutions rather than the problem AND fear mongering is "THE call of the day"...Newt states its well ---it IS getting more dangerous...but not in the way that you and I think that it is..... it is if you say it is....be careful on ...who you believe in.
I think the Muslim world better get a grip on reality, if they dont want others to burn the Koran then maybe they otta stop killing Christians and those who dont beleive in Allah. I'm sick of our President cowtowing to the Islamic world! He should have grown a spine and told them "Hey were tired of you trying to shove the Koran down everyones throat by force and were not going to take it anymore!" This is a Christian nation... If someone burns a Bible do you see Christians runing out killing people and rioting in the streets.. NO!.. Islam quit acting like little babies... Just watched it again, Morgan starts off in attack mode and ends up listening to newt treating him like some kind of sage,just letting him say what he wants to say . Newt must be the one politician media pundits /commentators dread interviewing. Not so much because he is nasty as some say , I hear off camera he is very nice to reporters. Including organising a birthday party for a young female reporter embedded with his campaign,but because he is extremely intelligent and has the ability to make fools of media types.
If this was the general election,who would you feel more confident talking to the media and answering difficult questions , newt or gaffe a day romney.I hear romney said something else stupid about his wifes's car collection. Like it or not (I hate it) the media have massive influence on the election.Just look at what they did to sarah palin. Although I think they couldn't do it to sarah now . If it's newt vs romney , newt is far better.
Yep, I don't ever hear a single Muslim apologize for churches being burned down that are full of people. The fact that they are so one-sided in being offended is their problem, not mine. It's like screaming in outrage if a mother merely slaps you after you brutally beat her child to death. It's ridicioulous.
I hope one day to see Newt and Obama on stage in a national televised debate with no teleprompters and the nation will see just how much more equipped Newt is to run this country. He is a very experienced intelligent genuine leader.
This is how the leader of the FREE WORLD and the President of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA handles himself. He does not allow anyone, foreign or domestic, to back him into a corner; including the media.

Why do these loser mumbly-mouth brits think they know better how to run a country when their own country is a disaster and in ruin?
I'm trying to picture General George Patton apologizing to a bunch of German POW's because we just blew up the bridge at Remmagen.
It ain't gonna happen. Simple.
I don't know why there is even a debate about Gingrich being the best GOP nominee and next President to get us out of this mess.
If I was president I'd burn a bunch of Qur'ans on live television, shortly before ordering a campaign of total war against the major Islamic states, where all options are on the table, including widespread use of nuclear weapons. I'd truly end their war against us, and I'd have the survivors begging on their hands and knees to surrender to us and formerly renounce the ideology of Islam.
Now compare this approach with the one perpetuated by the weak, ineffectual and feckless politicians we have today.
Gen. Allen showed again what a helpless liberal he is when he called this latest murderer "a coward." That's what liberals always say about enemies. It's the strongest statement of moral condemnation they have at their disposal. Liberals can't call people enemies or evil, because enemies and evil don't exist in the liberal universe (except when liberals are thinking about conservatives). So whenever an enemy kills one of us, our leaders puff out their chests and call it a "cowardly" act.
The general may not be a liberal, but simply a man who is under the thumb of the Obama administration, and knows it. Imagine what vile things Obama would have done to the general, had he come out against the idea of apologizing.
That was a great speech, I had to pay more attention than usual because of the poor audio quality on the replay.
WE don't take our queues from the Afghanistanis as to how to act! The reason General Allen apologized as clearly as he did was because we have people on the ground there! Newt was wrong to criticize General Allen for apologizing for this. The apology of the General, and Obama, for that matter, was purely strategic from a military perspective. The pentagon issued an apology today for the same reason: We need to keep the fringe Afghanistanis calmed down while our people are there.
Heck,Reagan signed LEGISLATION 1988 apologizing to the Japanese for the internment camps during WWII. That was the right thing to do then, and the apologies of Allen, the Pentagon and Obama were the right thing to do now.
The position that we must never acknowledge our mistakes because other "dictators around the world don't" drops us to their level. Americans are better than that. This is a losing proposition for Republicans in a general election.

Your comparison is as far off the mark as a Saddam Scud.
That was because they were citizens living in the USA at the time they were put in the camps.
Newt was spot on, that we shouldn't have Apologized and in fact should have demanded one for our solders that were killed over the uprising.
No other candidate in this race could've done that interview with so much grace, yet clear and assertive purpose.

I'm all for burning Korans, if it is simply to take them out of circulation, and done discretely. Showboating it in a war zone in the middle east was dumb. If pressed, our leaders should say, "yeah it wasn't real smart, but we don't see it as a big deal". Then you could start fighting the real battle, rather than chasing Muslims around the middle east. The real battle is against ideological Islam. Guns don't change anything on this front.
Once again, we are exposed to the reason Newt Gingrich SHOULD be nominated, then elected to the presidency! Has any other candidate stepped up with a truthful, straightforward commentary on this latest outrage from our "ally"? Or to pass judgment on the pathetic groveling by OUR leaders? This is nothing short of shameful!
A) The purpose of the Armed Forces is to kill people and destroy "stuff".
B) The military should NOT be building schools, mosques and water treatment plants.
C) After killing as many AQ & Taliban in late 2001 and 2002, we should have left Crapistan and let them live in their own dirt, like they have for thousands of years.
D) After 9/11/ Moooooslim immigration should have either been stopped are greatly reduced.
Bottom Line: You can't fight a war while at the same time allowing enemy "civilians" to immigrate to your country. Impossible.

Piers Morgan trying to match wits with Gingrich? Never gonna happen! The only worthwhile thing that Morgan has ever done is to help a frowzy and frumpy woman with an angelic voice, Susan Boyle take her gift into the world. That in no way makes him ready to spar with Gingrich.
