It is a little hard to see my tongue in my cheek on the printed page. I typed that more for the reactions than anything else(the last sentence). At least I got a couple responses. That said, I do believe in defending oneself and even going after people that plan us harm.
While I do not consider myself a christian I believe it is best to act that way (christian ideals) because our actions follow us like the wheels of the cart follow the ox (karma). I grew up in the bible belt (south), and experienced many different churches. Buddhism takes me to the same space in a much more direct way. Same destination more simple verbiage. All is impermanent!

Well, in that case...perhaps it WILL be an apocalypse...just NOT A LITERAL end of the planet's existence.

The Mayan calendars have different ages and the current age we're in at the moment is the "Age of the 5th Sun." 3113 B.C. - 2012 A.D.

There's an interesting movie you should check out. It's called Esoteric Agenda. It'll give you some great insight into how modern religions tie into the ancient pagan religions and about the mayan calendar.

It's OUT THERE and I don't believe all of it either, but there are some very interesting points made in it as well as SOURCES to double-check at the end.

Another crusade? Is that not what got this whole mess started? Wholesale slaughter, that will certainly solve it won't it? I agree this was a horrific incident, but what you suggest would engulf the world in blood and fire…Or is that your aim in the first place? I'm not sure what form of Christianity you practice but it differs completely from the form I was raised in, one of tolerance,peace and leaving God's judgement to God.

Apocalypse is ancient greek for A Revealing. As for the Mayan calendar, I think they got bored chiseling it into the stone and the last date was just where they left off.

If you actually read your Revelations book a little more carefully, you'll see that it's NOT talking about an APOCALYPSE. It just talks about the end of the current age. The Mayans predicted the same things to include a global government LONG BEFORE the Bible was written. It's based on the star system and the TRUE calendar which we as a society have long stopped using.

I'd be on the lookout for December 21, 2012. That's when the “end of age,” is going to be.

“This stuff is happening all over the world”. You are very right on that Acidock, I am a living proof, since I could remember back in my country, the Muslims were killing Christians, beheaded them, slaughter Christians like animals hundreds were murdered, to this day, it is still happening, killing, kidnapping for ransom and terrorized the place. All because Muslims wanted to take over the whole region, claiming it is theirs. I was only 8, when my parents decided to leave the place. The experienced had haunted me every single day and night for years. I feared to go to school because they might come to murder us and at night I feared to open my eyes thinking the same. We were under Martial Law then. I asked to myself to this day, why our government has done nothing to get rid of all the insurgents? Don't get me wrong, though the ones that terrorized us were Muslims, but not all of the Muslims are bad. There are different tribes and I suspect certain tribes are being paid by the corrupt government to terrorized people for their own gain.

Since believing God and what I feel He wants me to be. I tried to be as good as i can be. I am not sure what God really had task me to be, but I believe I did my best, this way I am not afraid to die.

What Bush did in Irak wasn't really the best thing to do and is completly unrelated to what is happening in Nigeria. Not to speak that the idea of having marines patrolling every single country around the world is stupid

What you have in Nigeria is people (Christian or not) being so poor, and desesperate, that they can't even afford to defend themselves.

Why ? because they suffer under poor a lack of of their most fundamental rights, and the US and western government are at fault.

Yes the US & EU are to blame not because of being ''evil'' but because they subsidize those bad government and politics in other people countries.

I'm pretty sure that UE or US have funded a gun control law in Nigeria or worse, surely funded the IMF clowns who give bad economic advice to those poor countries and thus provide the medium for this violance
So the first thing to do is to stop Giving foreign aid to government and instead only private donations through NGO who also can't receive govt money

Marines in Nigeria ???? Not such a great idea, when you guys finish Irak and Afganistan, lets talk about it

Considering that these people are being abused by a dictatorial style government…that would STILL require US TO HELP. We'd have to essentially do for these people something SIMILAR to what Bush claimed…oh…AFTER Saddam was captured that we were supposedly doing for Iraq.
