Jose Pimentel indeed was a convert to Islam and a follower of Al-Awlaki, whose website he used to learn how to make a bomb. He wanted to travel to Yemen for training before returning to New York to become a “martyr in the name of Jihad”. He also wanted to change his name to “Osama Hussein” because of his heroes, Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. And his target? Our military members returning from Afghanistan and Iraq and normal American citizens.
He was arrested yesterday and found to have already made three bombs:
