I think I heard Beck talking about this today or yesterday, and his point was that while the driver seemingly made the wrong move in running over the protester, what was the right move in this situation? The protester was banging on his car and wouldn’t get out of the way, so the guy just floored it. I started to say he floored it in anger, but I realized he could have been just scared, worrying about what was coming next. Self defense maybe? The police let him go, so I’m guessing that was what they determined. After all, the protester was being very aggressive.
