Obama blames GOP for gridlock, says they just want to get him out of office

Obama is asked about the gridlock in Congress and told that a leading Democrat, Congressman Norm Dicks, says he could be doing more to get rid of the gridlock situation. Obama says he’s open to suggestions and the reporter quickly responds that she’s got one from Dicks, that he said that Obama should meet with more rank and file members of Congress. Obama replied that he’s already doing that.

He then told the reporter that the problem is that the GOP wants to get him out at any cost:

Whatever Obama’s for, we’re going to be against, because the economy’s bad and we figure the President usually will be held more accountable than we are. And I understand that as a political strategy.

He then invokes the use of executive privilege to get past the gridlock.
