Obama disgraced Netanyahu at the White House

I’ll be honest – this made my blood boil. Obama doesn’t stand up to Iran or N. Korea who are threatening other countries while trying to acquire nukes yet he gets upset over settlements and humiliates Netanyahu by dissing him for dinner. He’s such a jackass:

For a head of government to visit the White House and not pose for photographers is rare. For a key ally to be left to his own devices while the President withdraws to have dinner in private was, until this week, unheard of. Yet that is how Binyamin Netanyahu was treated by President Obama on Tuesday night, according to Israeli reports on a trip viewed in Jerusalem as a humiliation.

After failing to extract a written promise of concessions on settlements, Mr Obama walked out of his meeting with Mr Netanyahu but invited him to stay at the White House, consult with advisers and “let me know if there is anything new”, a US congressman, who spoke to the Prime Minister, said.

“It was awful,” the congressman said. One Israeli newspaper called the meeting “a hazing in stages”, poisoned by such mistrust that the Israeli delegation eventually left rather than risk being eavesdropped on a White House telephone line. Another said that the Prime Minister had received “the treatment reserved for the President of Equatorial Guinea”. …

Left to talk among themselves Mr Netanyahu and his aides retreated to the Roosevelt Room. He spent a further half-hour with Mr Obama and extended his stay for a day of emergency talks to try to restart peace negotiations. However, he left last night with no official statement from either side. He returned to Israel yesterday isolated after what Israeli media have called a White House ambush for which he is largely to blame.

I said it before the election and I’ll say it now: Obama hates Israel and it’s clearer now than it’s ever been. In fact, none of his foreign policy moves make sense to anyone. He gives grandiose speeches to the Muslim world telling them we are their friends yet he refuses to support the oppressed in Iran when they are getting shot in the street; he stands up against Honduras when they follow their constitution and oust their dictator wannabe President, yet he refuses to take a tough stand over the illegal government of Iran when they clearly ignore the people’s votes and fix their elections.

He definitely has an agenda and it’s not one like we’ve seen before. To diss a key ally like he did is reprehensible and immature. How long do we have to put up with the likes of this marxist? (it’s a rhetorical question!)

It really is like we're in two separate realities here… Obama hasn't stepped up to North Korea and Iran? Compared to whom?

What happened with North Korea under the last administration? Oh, they were removed from the list of “state's that sponsor terrorism” (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/13/world/asia/13…). I guess that was a reward for getting nuclear weapons.

What did Bush do to stand up to Iran? That's right, nothing. At least Obama is pushing for sanctions. Sadly, they won't do anything and Iran will most likely get the bomb, just like North Korea did under Bush's watch. All of Obama's talk when he first came into office, trying to play nice with Iran, appears all for naught. It looks like the U.S. doesn't have anything credible to use to stop them, short of all out war. And we all know that's exactly what we need right now.

Israel is the biggest headache of an ally the U.S. could hope for. Sure, they'll gladly accept our military support and the billions of dollars we send them each year. But the U.S. asks them not to continue their settlement policy (something Bush asked them not to do either, by the way) because it's intentionally antagonistic toward the Palestinians, and what do they do? Thumb their noses at us. Great dynamic we got going.

Obama is a nightmare. A marxist, crypto-Islamic Manchurian. I still cannot believe the country elected him POTUS.

And, the media was disgraceful in their promotion of this maniac.

  • williamm

jd73, It doesn't matter what Bush did. He is no longer the president. I agree Obama does stand up to the people he feels is his enemy. Unfortunately that is the American people and the constitution. Why do you libs always try to make Obama look better by comparing him to Bush. Try to make him look better by finding something that he is doing good for this country, that he isn't shoving down out throats.

  • poptoy1949

This surprises you? When will everybody get their head out of the sand and realize what Obama is all about. Do not listen to his words but look at his actions. Obama is PRO-MUSLIM. BIBI is a JEW. The two to not mix. Obama is a disgrace. What he did to BIBI is disgraceful. Pray this Kenyan is not re-elected.

  • williamm

jd73 , I apologize in advance for calling you a liberal. It's unfair to judge you without knowing you and calling anyone a liberal is not a good thing. Sorry.

  • aardvark1956

Actually, the only one Obama disgraced was himself —- but i know what you meant ;-)

Why do you want to compare him to Bush? Ok, let's do it. Bush did pursue sanctions against Iran. Did alot of good didn't it. Obama's doing the same thing that didn't work last time, so I guess that makes him super smart.

But really, this isn't about comparing him to anyone. Those arguments are lame. He has a job to do and he is doing it poorly. it's clear he has an agenda against Israel. Right or wrong, he is very inconsistent as I pointed out in the post.

  • Jrusha

Where is the dislike button? Israel is our only friend and ally in a sea of people that would (if they had a chance) kill us. Why are we throwing them under the bus. Check your history all these countries re-emerged in the last 100 years out of the Ottoman Empire. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PALESTINIAN!!!! The word means Philistine land. Do you know any Philistine? Read your history.

  • crazee

Don't forget taking out missile defense programs in Europe. You know, that continent that we're supposed to work with.

  • jd73

I compared him to Bush, because when you criticize a president's current policy on something it's helpful to compare him to those that have already walked in his shoes.

And does he have an agenda against Israel, or is the U.S. upset that Israel has decided to continue building in East Jerusalem knowing full well that it makes any chance of a peace talk more unlikely? Again, expansion of Israeli settlements was something that the former Republican administration was against. And if it were a Republican administration in the White House now, they'd be against it too.

  • jd73

Do you have a point here? You're arguing that because the people that are living in what is today Israel weren't called Palestinian's 100 years ago, they should leave and make room for the Israelis (who also were not there 100 years ago).

You do know that prior to WWII the number of Jewish individuals in what is now Israel was in the low thousands, right? And the number of Muslims in the millions?

Not to mention the contradiction that you yourself point out. The term “Palestine” is derived from Philistine, you're correct. So, if you're going by the Bible to determine “who was there first” (not something I recommend) you have pointed out that they have a historical claim to the land, just like Israel.

Maybe they'd be against it, but they wouldn't act like immature babies over the issue. They'd continue to try and find a solution. Look, when Iran was killing their people in the streets, Obama basically took a strategy of non-involvement. But when Israel builds settlements, you'd think the end of the world is coming. Obama is clearly a hypocrite.

  • jd73

Alright, absent of comparison (though I believe it to be completely fair and justified to do so) Obama has a mixed record so far. He's trying to get Russia and China on board with Iran, but yes, even with sanctions Iran will get the bomb if they want it. I imagine they do, and they will. It's unclear to me what the alternative is.

Obama has stepped up the fight in Afghanistan that has been long neglected, that gets approval from me. Combat troops are on schedule to return home from Iraq this summer, that gets an approval from me. He's reached a landmark agreement with Russia to significantly reduce the number of nukes, that gets my approval.

Plenty of area for improvement, certainly. But hey, at least he hasn't started another two wars for us, right?

  • williamm

I agree he hasn't started another foreign war, but he has started a war against America. He pushed through a health care bill that the majority of people don't want. Even Sen Baucus admitted health care is all about redistribution of wealth. ” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY4Qbv7gPbo

To me, Bush was a loser. Obama is worse. Instead of attacking Iraq and Afghanistan, he attacked us and the constitution. Obama, Reid, and Pelosi's popularity has dropped like a rock.

The construction within Jerusalem, (a city which the Israelies consider their spiritual and historic capital city) is an internal matter within the state of Israel itself. Which makes it none of our or Obama's business, this is something for the Israelies and the Palestinians to work out. But for Obama to disrespect our only real ally in the region and probably our greatest intelligence source for the Middle East , shows his true “colors” and real lack of qualifications for the job he now holds. As another point, Yes williamm, Baucus has lost his way as he has been in DC too long and is now a posterchild for term limits. We're working on bringing him home so he can be deprogrammed.

  • patm714

China basically owns the United States now because of all the money THEY have given US (I know they are supposed to be loans but don't think for a second that the US has any intention of fully repaying them). We have leaned on China a whole lot more tha Iisrael has leaned on the US. If China decides to give us an ultimatum to stop building in our capital, what do you think our response is going to be?? If you decide you want to put a shed up on your own property, and your neighbor tells you he doesn't want you to because he doesn't like sheds, what are you going to tell him? You're going to tell him to go pound sand!! East Jerusalem never had a building freeze imposed on it because Israel has always been upfront with everyone that east Jearusalem is not negotiable. Obama is just trying to make himself look important-at Israel's expense- because all of the other countries have told Obama to go “pound sand”. Obama's tactics are those of a coward.

  • ndes

I honestly don't care about that as long as he doesn't put Americans at risk, which I don't think he does.

  • TourOfRicky

“I said it before the election and I’ll say it now: Obama hates Israel and it’s clearer now than it’s ever been. “

    NOBODY CARES

AMERICA SHOULD STAY OUT OF ISRAEL/PALESTINE AND LET THEM SORT IT OUT ON THEIR OWN.

  • sickofgoverment

How exactly is Israel a friend? It seems that we provide them with weapons, money, aid, protection, and in return they provide us with…. well, I can't think of anything.
