NEW YORK TIMES – With the Muslim Brotherhood pulling within reach of an outright majority in Egypt’s new Parliament, the Obama administration has begun to reverse decades of mistrust and hostility as it seeks to forge closer ties with an organization once viewed as irreconcilably opposed to United States interests.

The administration’s overtures — including high-level meetings in recent weeks — constitute a historic shift in a foreign policy held by successive American administrations that steadfastly supported the autocratic government of President Hosni Mubarak in part out of concern for the Brotherhood’s Islamist ideology and historic ties to militants.

The shift is, on one level, an acknowledgment of the new political reality here, and indeed around the region, as Islamist groups come to power. Having won nearly half the seats contested in the first two rounds of the country’s legislative elections, the Brotherhood on Tuesday entered the third and final round with a chance to extend its lead to a clear majority as the vote moved into districts long considered strongholds.

The reversal also reflects the administration’s growing acceptance of the Brotherhood’s repeated assurances that its lawmakers want to build a modern democracy that will respect individual freedoms, free markets and international commitments, including Egypt’s treaty with Israel. …

It would be “totally impractical” not to engage with the Brotherhood “because of U.S. security and regional interests in Egypt,” a senior administration official involved in shaping the new policy said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss diplomatic affairs.

“There doesn’t seem to me to be any other way to do it, except to engage with the party that won the election,” the official said, adding, “They’ve been very specific about conveying a moderate message — on regional security and domestic issues, and economic issues, as well.”

Sometimes you just don’t know what to say anymore about this guy who treats our enemies like friends and our friends like they should be under the sole of his shoe. I know I’ve posted this quote before, but it really says it all and I’m going to post it here again:

They are glibly about to put the Lenins of our time into trains heading for Moscows of our time, they find nothing odd that they are pushing for the Muslim Brotherhood to be taken into governing when everything needs to be done to keep the Muslim Brotherhood out even as one carefully negotiates the long historic transition of Arab societies from tribal autocracy and military dictatorships to representative rule and constitutionally limited government.

Time for another liberty face-palm:

What I read there is that both movements have supported violent Jihad, and fighting off non muslim 'aggressors'. One tries to seek power through putting on a nice face to it, I don't live in America.. I live in Israel and come face to face daily with suicide bombers, terrorists and murderers who intentionally target non muslim civilians. Hamas is Muslim Brotherhood, and a recognized terrorist organization. I don't me to be crude in my comments, but just because Muslim Brotherhood is not pro slaughtering fellow Muslims unlike AL Qaeda, but has no problem waging Jihad against non Muslims does not endear me.

Islamists are now seizing political power across the Mid East, they often tout elections and 'democracy' but the moment they obtain power suppress religious freedom, human rights, espouse Jihad and armed struggle, suppress free speech and employ violence against anyone who opposes them. There's nothing remotely democratic about it, it's just a mask in my opinion to further goals. Take care.

But isn't Obama just completing the project Bush started? From the Boston Globe:

"A small, controversial effort launched under President George W. Bush to fund and train election monitors in Egypt played a key role in the movement to topple President Hosni Mubarak’s regime."

As Edmund Burke warned, "The effect of liberty to individuals is, that they may do what they please: we ought to see what it will please them to do, before we risk congratulations."

Obama is a muslim himself and no one can convince me otherwise. He bows to muslim nations and apologizes for wars that liberated other countries. The man was put here by our enemies to destroy US.

Gingrich for president. The lamestream media is trashing Newt for "historical" baggage. All politicians have baggage if we did deep enough, but the lamestream/left socialists won't expose democrats, they love the big zero/Obama. Newt has made his mark with his "Contract with America," a contract he fulfilled that no other politician can match.

I suspect that this year will be so unbelievably sinister in this country - election rigging, a daily breaking of the Constitutional constraints, the Supreme Court affirming the legality of Obamacare, "missing" people who tried to get the truth out about Obama, etc. IF we survive it, and IF we get Obama out, that will only be the very beginning. This evil is so entrenched in our country now that it will take decades to even begin to reverse it. One election will not reverse anything - it will take many elections and a complete stamping out of the ideology of those like Obama.

The leading cleric and Osama Bin Laden's partner in creating Al Qaeda was Ayman al-Zawahiri, he was the top man in Egyptian Islamic Jihad, which is basically the same thing as the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Muslim brotherhood is the parent organization of most of the violent jihadists movements like Al Qaeda, Hamas etc.

I have been waiting to post this – The time is right for this !

Barack Obama - during his Cairo speech, said:

"I know, too, that Islam has always been a part

of America's story."

AN AMERICAN CITIZEN'S RESPONSE:

Dear Mr. Obama:

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed?

Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day?

Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?

or the

Declaration of Independence?

or the

Bill of Rights?

Didn't think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England?

No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America?

No, they did not.

In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery.

MR.Obama, your own half brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself,

even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black

Muslims as "pug nosed slaves." Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your

family's "rich Islamic heritage," doesn't it Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this Country?

Not present.

There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr.

or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage era?

Again, not present.

In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture.

So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the

'hajib' or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband.

Yep, the Muslims are all for women's rights, aren't they?

Where were Muslims during World War II?

They were aligned with Adolf Hitler.

The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler,

reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi's in killing Jews

Finally,

Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001?

If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center , the Pentagon or a field

in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the

Middle East. No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world

celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day.

Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims who's a$$es you bent

over backwards to kiss in Cairo, Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To

most Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America.

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates.

They were Muslim.

And now we can add November 5, 2009 –

The slaughter of American

soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a

doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers

returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan.

That, Mr. Obama is the "Muslim heritage" in America.

Muslim Heritage, my butt!

He's been friends with muslims for years, he's got muslim brotherhood in his administration, muslims are forced on our inteligence agencies and homeland security, and people wonder that he'd make moves to embrace muslim brotherhood in Egypt?

AMERICANS ELECT may be Obama's fail-proof plan to guarantee his re-election, in addition to:

- preventing voter photoIDs,

- to granting amnesty to a million illegal aliens, - OWS/Arab Spring/Union/ACORN style civil unrest, intimidation. (Jimmy Hoffa Jr. promised violence in Obama's presence at a fundraiser this Fall.)

AMERICANS ELECT:

- Is already set to run an unknown third party candidate.

- Already has big money from unknown donors.

- Is registered on ballot in every state.

- Has been nationally recognized by media - Chris Wallace named its founder as the Person Of the Week on his show.

Here is an article expressing concern by an attorney. Don't miss the comments - http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/01/americans_elect_obamas_third-party_tar_pit_comments.html#disqus_thread

I have written my congressmen, Michele Bachmann, ACLJ about this organization.

The author and other attorneys in the comments section were concerned about the legality of this auxilliary election organization.

For sure! The reasons are stacked so high that I've lost track of some of them! Obama, and his cronies on the Hill, need to be shown how much fun it is to be unemployed.
