So rising gas prices are taking Obama's poll number down. How could this have happened? Was the press hammering Obama on rising gas prices...no. Did the Santorum or Romney campaign use this against Obama...no. No one was talking about gas prices until Gingrich came up with his 2.50 a gallon gas slogan and 30 minute video on how to do it. Now Obama's out giving speeches about energy all of which have just been fodder for ridicule by Gingrich. This is what leaders do. They create the narrative and use it against their opponent, it's called offense and no one does it better than Gingrich. This was a brilliant move by Gingrich that has now made rising gas prices a central issue nationally, used to embarrass Obama and put him on the defense.

Rising gas prices are one piece of the fundamental change that the obamessiah promised. Its 100% contrived and intentional. So that only makes rising gas prices another proud accomplishment of the obamessiah.

Obama has a GREAT chance of being re-elected. He is doing EVERYTHING he can to make it so illegal immigrants can vote in the comming election (by blocking states from requiring an id to vote). Gingrich has answered the no silver bullet excuse in several speeches. It's called the presidents pen.
1. Executive order allow the canada pipeline
2. Executive order allow drilling off Lousiana and Texas coast
3. Executive order allow drilling in Alaska (don't remember name place)
All on the first day as president.
I didn't word it as well as he did and he also included the number of barrels of oil possible from each action.
Let's just hope we can get a fair vote, and remember at the polls that the price at the pumps and other atrocities in America now are ALL OBAMA'S FAULT.
Gas prices are an issue, I don't want to slight it in the least. But, gas prices are the consequence or symptom of a much deeper problem in America. We have an economy handcuffed by our own government and a president who is happy about it. There is no cure for gas prices or any other problem without a COMPLETE RESTRUCTURING of our government and monetary system, ie the Federal Reserve System.
The lights are dimming, folks. It probably won't matter who we elect, the 100 year experiment with socialism and the robbing of individual rights is assuming control. I really would rather be positive but the truth is the truth and it is more powerful than what my own mental state should or should not be.

You are definitely correct that this is a symptom of a bigger problem, and that problem is inflation -- actually I think the proper term is "stagflation". Now increased demand around the globe, especially in places like China and India that are seeing expanding economies, is playing a role, but not nearly as large of one as people think.
If you measure the price of oil and gasoline in relation to the price of gold per troy ounce, gas prices are actually *below average*. Measured against gold, the price of gasoline peaked in 2005 and today gold can buy more than twice as much gasoline as it did when it peaked. Hmm... I think this shows very, very clearly where the problem lies, but this problem is beyond Obama's control and actually lies with..... Congress.
I agree with your symptom statement but you have to begin the narrative somewhere and rising gas prices are a good place to start. You can't get completely lost in the overall picture as a starting point.

How many issues put forward have put Obama in such a back peddling position or caused a stir nationally. As far as I can see none.
