This is payback. I can't remember when exactly but didn't Chris give an interview before saying that he heard rumors that Obama won't accept phone calls from Congressional members? Obama ran on a campaign that he was approachable and bi-partisan but Matthews blew up and gave a candid interview with someone saying that he heard differently. The media was falling out of love with Obama at that time and Chris unleashed but Obama could still be holding a grudge.

I'm really surprised that the White house offered Biden. Given all of the strange things Biden has said lately, you would think the White House would be petrified to unleash Biden to say what he wants. Well, I guess the White House thought the tape would be heavily edited by MSNBC, so that there would be few problems with the final film. Still, letting crazy uncle Joe Biden off the reservation this close to the election? Not smart.
To be fair, with MessNBC providing the questions for approval 48 hours in advance and giving Biden time to learn the answers they probably thought it might be safe to let the Biden poodle attend the interview. :-)
