None of them are accustomed to this. Not the Imbecile, and not his people. They've enjoyed four years of fawning and drooling by an adoring media/Hollywood/activist population, and come the day somebody pushes back, no one knows what to do.

Without a carefully selected, loud and insanely partisan cheering section, he's exposed. Without a teleprompter to speak for him, he's exposed. With no subject matter knowledge or experience from which to make a cogent argument, he's exposed for what we always knew him to be; a boorish, arrogant amateur - a befuddled half-wit who was way more interested in becoming president than actually being one.

He's not used to being spoken-to like that - it was plain and clear in his expressions of outrage. No one to save him, and it must've felt dreadful to stand there and watch the house of cards he's built begin its inevitable collapse. I haven't started a day this happy and encouraged in a very long time. Maybe, just maybe, there's hope for this country after all. We'll see, but with luck, the independents will pull their heads out and get it right this time.

Thanks for posting this Scoop. I had a meeting last night and missed most of it... am listening now and appreciate it very much!

Romney shined at the debate, and showed what a powerful leader he will be. He even spoke over the moderator Jim Lehrer who lost control, just so Romney could get his points heard.

I hope in the next debate when BO talks about our economy as the greatest system man has developed that Mitt will ask him, "Then why do we need to fundamentally transform America?" Stop letting this man talk out of both sides of his mouth without confronting him!!

Romney was Superb......And the hangover I have from sipping vino on a work night was well worth it!!!!!!

It really ticked me off when Obama said it's going to make a lot of Democrats mad when Romney tries to repeal Obamacare. Hey, buddy, I don't care. You locked Republicans out of the process and told them to sit on the back of the bus.

Romney had a great comeback when he said (paraphrased) "If I were to walk in and say it's my way or the highway I wouldn't get anything done". It placed the responsibility for the gridlock squarely on Obama's shoulders and flat out called Obama a poor leader. Very well done.

Romney cleaned Obama's clock.

My favorite part was when Romney said (paraphrased) "I"ve been in business for 25 years and I don't have a clue what you're talking about".

Obama was called out and thrown on his back for making something up out of thin air. You don't make up a lie about something involving business when you're talking to the king of business.

I could have done a better job than Romney did. Yeah, he did good, but there was sooo much stuff that he should have refuted. When he did fight back against Obama's points, but most of it was mild refutation, and didn't really go into the deeper philosophical issues.

Romney needs to remember that when Obama mentions how swell things were under Clinton with higher tax rates the % of government spending to GDP was lower--I believe 18%--it is now 25%.

BO's ideology really gets in the way of his ability to think rationally. I really got lost as he stuttered through his assessment of lowering the debt.

I just watched this debate for the second time uninterrupted and this time I saw what I had missed first time around. Romney was commanding and had made the case over and over that Barack Hussein Obama is destroying the country from within. Also as expected I saw and heard Barack Hussein Obama spew pure B.S. from his mouth for the entire debate and saw that he did not even believe the B.S. he was spewing... Barack Hussein Obama had to work extra hard to pretend he cares deeply for this Republic and all it's citizens... The look of disgust on Barack Hussein Obama face as the Constitution and Declaration of Independence was spoke of was the same disgusted face I had seen in Illinois when I asked him questions regarding the U.S. Constitution and State Constitution... I thought he might just say at one point during this debate regarding the Constitution "Are You Serious?". I am not sure how but some way the liberal media will give him a 9 or 10 point lead nationally and around the same in the swing States... So overall I was pleasantly surprised that he was not weak in this debate as I was fearing he might be..

I think emperor 0bama has to pick the best of bad options in future debates, and both mean utter defeat for him.

If he continues to "keep cool" it will be another embarrassment like tonight. This debate has shown that the emperor CANNOT defend ANYTHING that happened under his four-year reign nor effectively counter Romney once confronted with facts that he ignored for so long. It's also telling that he kept looking at moderator Jim Lehrer as if expecting Lehrer to save him somehow.

However, if he attempts to get aggressive in the future, the emperor's thin-skinned demeanor and insufferable narcissism may get the better of him, especially since Romney has been shown to be so knowledgeable about his policies and calls him out in turn. It is then the beloved emperor 0bama will erupt in a satisfying moment of uncontrollable rage on live TV.

Heck, if Dear Leader is REALLY ANGRY, he might even spew a profanity or two without thinking.

Also, I can't wait to hear talk radio break this down. I work graveyards but I may just have to stay up late to listen to all of El Rushbo's show. It should be epic.

This debate was like watching Tito Ortiz in a UFC match against Steve Urkel. Or like watching the early '90s Cowboys playing a pee-wee football team. Obama was just so far in over his head it was pathetic.... IT WAS GLORIOUS!!!

This is what we've all been waiting on for four years. What's awesome is the press has done Obama no favors. He's only had to deal with softball questions up to now and facing serious questions and an opponent who wouldn't let him get away with anything, he shattered like a champagne glass thrown off the Sears Tower. His arguments and talking points came tumbling down like a house of cards in an earthquake. EFFING AWESOME!

Democrats, this is how conservatives felt when McCain didn't debate in the 2008 debates with Obama. It's not that your candidate was better; it's that our candidate didn't want to win. Obama has a case of McCain-nodebate-itis.

See I knew Romney was going to give us what we've been asking for in these debates.

I love how MSM tried to hype Romney so he fails tonight backfired and in a big way.

The next debate that could save Obama? Is Biden's against Ryan LMAO!

Tonight was a great night.

Obama's lack of preparation showed the greatest amount of disrespect for Americans and even for the unworthy Democrat I've ever seen. Obama is the poster boy for the effectiveness of advancing unqualified candidates over qualified ones has produced for this nation.

I believe that neither Jesse Jackson nor Al Sharpton could have done more to embarrass themselves, their nation and their people than the lazy, arrogant Indo-waiian..

(Well maybe Sharpton on a bad day...)

It is hilarious to see some on the left trying to spin this. The meltdown on MSNBC is epic!

Good job Gov! Keep this up and you will draw more and more conservatives and independents your way.

Although Romney schooled Obama on every single point, Obama didn't hurt himself by appearing to have been schooled. Obama's gift is the ability to always look like he knows what he's talking about, even when he has no clue about the words coming out of his own mouth.

Obama reminds me of a third grader who totally trusts the words adults tell him to say, and so he says them with total conviction, even though he has no ability at all to determine what the words mean.

white531

There is no depth to the man. That is the quality he lacks, as a human being. Everything about him is superficial. He is always acting. Always playing to the audience in front of him.

His understanding of the world around him, is wrapped up in himself, and his view of his own existence. He is the most narcissistic person I have ever encountered. His love of himself, is so overwhelming, that he cannot understand anyone not agreeing with him.

The vision he has of himself, borders on a mental disorder. He really should be in an institution, under heavy medication.

Having said that, I don't feel like wasting more money on him. Just turn him loose in any homeless camp in America. Let them deal with him.

A year ago, I would have called that a way-over-the-top analysis. Now, it's almost an understatement.

Scoop, keep this thread open until after the election. Things were moving too fast this evening to comment, but over the next couple of weeks, this will become one of the biggest threads ever.

Other than the insta-poll, we know who is the clear decisive winner champ is in this debate, when Bill Maher and MSNBC hardball were fuming non-stop on their chump.

Is it possible that Obama never really had a competent debater? John McCain was not competent on taxes or the economy and neither was Hilary Clinton competent on taxes and the economy. So its possible that he really has not have to defend his marxist ideology.

Stupid DVR. Missed the closing statements.

We took a break for dinner. Mmmmmmm.

Up till the last fifteen minutes, I had Romney up by just a bit. The SCOAMF didn't have to sweat. Romney was killing on rational points and math. SCOAMF killed on claiming BS was fact.

Just go with the lies, Mr. President. Don't worry about the media calling you out on any of them. You say "5 Billion," hey, that's good enough for us!

What a night! I thought we would win this thing, but we seemed to have steamrolled Obama.

Over the next few days, the Democrats will try to spin this every way from Sunday, but they will fail, in their efforts. Without his teleprompter, this is a weak President.

He just proved it this evening, to all the American people, who were watching. It just doesn't get any better than this.

It is like in Little League, they should have had a 10 run rule in place.

Mitt was ahead 10-1 in the first 30 minutes.

'BB Rabozza

What we saw tonight was Obama on his own, without his keepers, handlers, MSM protectors, and teleprompter, and without the ability to control the questions being asked. Tonight he introduced his real self to the entire country.

HBNO####,

Don't want to go negative on myself, but I was talking about the BEER.

BUT, now that you mention it, the results tonight were not what MOST people thought was possible.....even though a lot of US on this site PRAYED for it a LOT !!!!

I knew Mitt could beat him and is a GOOD man, but to have OH-uh-oh

have such a poor night surprised me.

I think he wanted to look PRESIDENTIAL, and not like the man on those tapes just released.

Instead, he looked like little boy who just got caught lying....no racism meant there, but lefties go ahead and SPEW.

JohnBarry2012
JohnBarry2012

The non-verbal body language of Obama gave away much than his verbal presentation. He stood with a negative posture of slouching forward, his leg crossed behind him, avoiding direct eye contact with Mitt Romney and the moderator and his voice sounded dejected as opposed to his deep and well modulated oratory tone of voice. He seemed just to endure himself through the debate and at times he seemed to lost his train of thought, as opposed to Mitt Romney, who was in full command of the debate, in substance and timing.

chatterbox365

I seriously wanted to slap that soured look off his face.

He definitely had lost his luster and mojo without the teleprompter and his canned script.

Romney was even strong on Romneycare. WOW!!

rondo smith

Both candidates were well prepared, spoke well, and were well behaved. There were no cheap shots. Though I gagged when Obama addressed his wife at the beginning and called her sweety. (I almost turned off the TV at that moment, but the call of duty prevailed.) It is stunning how much older-looking Obama has become in just four years. His face seemed shrunken and wizened. But at the same time he looked strong and confident. Romney’s maddening habit of smiling continuously while Obama was speaking made him look weak. So I turned from C-SPAN, which had split screen view showing both candidates the whole time, to PBC, which showed only the candidate who was speaking.

On the economy, I think that voters who are concerned about the economy will get the definite impression that Romney will get the economy moving again, and the even stronger impression that Obama will not, and that these perception will certainly help Romney.

On Obamacare, Romney’s standard critique of it—it will hurt the economy, it involves too many regulations—and his continuing failure to attack it as a tyrannical expansion of government and bureaucratic power (as seen, e.g., in the birth control mandate), suggests that he will have no real zeal to repeal it. If he had such zeal, wouldn’t he have attacked it as the revolutionary, anti-American measure that it is, and not just for its inefficiency?

poljunkie

I didnt think Obama looked strong and confident at all during the debate. I thought he looked deflated and weak. Shrunken into his suit. He made little or no eye contact which to me seemed like a tell that he didn't want to be there, and wasnt interested or prepared.

Romney smiling was much better than the smirk that the President had for part of the time, and the sour look the other part of the time.

In all honesty, Romneys answer in re to Obamacare was stronger than I hoped. I was happily surprised.
