I’m rather surprised to see this. I was going to comment that this was one of the few places I’ve ever seen where there WEREN’T personal attacks against other posters or trolls. Of course, I haven’t read everything and I’ve only been here a few days, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the lack of trolls and personal attacks. Guess I’ve missed it. Language-I took my cue from what I saw here, so I’m probably guilty to a small degree, but I’ll watch it.

I’ll admit I’m not very observant but, I really haven’t seen much of what you mention. Thats why I come here daily.

“Rights, in response I will quote a favorite artist of mine, “Excuse me? First Amendment? Son, the first amendment protects you from the government, not from me. You can say whatever you want too out there, but if you come within reach of me, I’ll exercise my right to give you a good ol’ country @$$ whoopin’ is what I’ll do”.
Sounds like it could be the artist whose site I moderated for 6 yrs. LOL!

Well I couldn’t agree with you more Ken. Glad to see you sport’n a badge. RS sure knows how to pick’em. But in regards to what you have stated. I have seen the same language come out of most Lib sites. It saddens me that some here will stoop to that level.
It seems civility has been amiss lately.
I sure hope those who are feeling somewhat sheepish at this point will agree to abide to the rules put forth. It certainly will not be a challenge for you to hit the “ban” button with those unwilling to adhere to the new rules.
Right Scoop has been a great source of information for me, I’d hate to see it get bog down with thistle & weeds.
So let’s start weed wack’n partnah!

Thanks Ken. Noted.

Scoop, Ken, K-Bob, Red, Dan and the others you guys are the best site on the net. I don’t say that to suck up, but I’ve been here almost a year now (I can’t remember exactly when I first stumbled on Scoop) and this has been the best place to come and comment, but also interact in a nice community way, which I have never been able to do anywhere else.
I appreciate all of you guys- hard work and now your new policy. I can understand that, as this is what makes Scoop such a special site is that most times folks have been able to air their opinions without having to be worried about being called names or others being rude or disgusting. At least that’s why I’ve loved it here.
I know I’m extremely opionated, more on some things than others, and I hope I have acted in a proper manner, especially when my hair’s really been in a knot more than a few times.
Thank you all for such an excellent place- where I have made fast friends and found a bunch of brothers and sisters I never would have met otherwise.
- Is_Sense_Common
AbC, you always keep it classy! You’re kinda my hero. I definitely need to tone down my “colorfulness” at times. I get a bit fired up & stuff starts spewing from my fingertips that doesn’t come out of my mouth… Anyway, thanks for always setting a good example.

ABC everybody loves you. I think you are never over the top. I have withdrew many comments to you, once I knew you were studying to get citizenship. I did not want to color your memory, with real truths. Pass the exam, then, I will send you a few remarks, trying to steer you to the real truth. I do wish you would hurry up, and get the card. Times awasting, and we really need your vote.
- http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada
I want to get that citizenship Allen! The fact that America is on the precipice is the very reason I want it now so badly- because if she falls on the right side again, I will be joyous that she will be that Blessed nation I came to. If she falls on the wrong side, I will proudly help fight to get her back. Right now, funding is the main issue, and a couple of personal reasons, but once we save up some money- I plan on it pronto- and all y’all at Scoop will hear me whoopin’ and hollerin’ that day!
Thank you so much for your kind words though friend. - Anonymous
And we’ll be here to celebrate with you! We need all the American patriots we can get!

Maybe we can fashion a trade? Send Michael Moore and Bill Mahar and Rosie O’Donnell and the entire cast of MSNBC up to Canada & send folks like you & Linky & others here. Yes, I think we could make that work!

Excellent suggestion. I think that would an extremely fair exchange.

Wouldn’t that put us at war with Canada? There goes the Keystone pipeline.
- Linky1
LOL……Obama started that war. Between that and our own home-grown war against the Northern Gateway pipeline, the MSNBC trade-off would hardlymake a ripple.
- Linky1
I was just about to get my dander up here but when I read the whole comment….awww..shucks, thanks for the invite. I am blessed to have found Scoop’s site and as a Canadian, will throw my two cents in (at par, of course) when needed.
With wonderful folk like ABC, and so many others here, it’s like a giant coffee shop where we can sit, chew the fat, discuss politics, rant, rave and feel safe about it. Having been around political and other forums, I can attest to the flaming, the personal attacks, the trolls and see their drive-by attacks.
What we have here in North America is the freedom to jump online, come here to Scoop’s site, say what we have to say and either get heat for it or be commended for it. Countries like China, ones in the Middle East do not realize the freedom we have here to be who we are and to say what we are and not get punished for it.
Many who have that freedom abuse it when they come here to disparage us for our beliefs, when they lob personal attacks against us – they then scream “First Amendment” when they are banned for such attacks. They don’t realize that the current administration is trying to restrict that freedom through bills like SOPA and PIPA and with behemoths like Google wanting to be a cross between an Orwellian search engine and “HAL” from 2001 A Space Odyessey.
This is why this election is so very important for all of us-Americans and non-Americans. It’s a war of ideas, of ideologies and now, it seems like a war of Super PACS, intending to destroy good, conservative candidates all in the name of power-specifically for the current president and his socialist minions and the so-called front-runner for the Republican party.
I have been having an email discourse with someone on this very topic and I was disparaged by them because I would dare to continue speaking out against what I see as flagrant abuses of power by the current administration and to support a candidate who I felt represented my values, not just because they stood the best chance to beat Obama. When I am inclined (like now), I will go on a rant about things I believe strongly in. Thanks for having such a great site to be able to do that and along with that a wonderful group of people to debate with.
Oh, as for the MSNBC tradeoff-uhhhh…Canadian immigration policy has been strengthened…..the folks @ MSNBC wouldn’t make the grade!
ABC-I will shoot off fireworks when you get your citizenship. The USA needs so many good, decent, wonderful people like you!

That’s one of the reasons too why I want to… I am limited to what I can donate, and work with now. I can belong to groups such as the Tea Party, but politically active things, there are too many things I can’t do except speak my opinions, which sometimes get’s on people’s nerves, but others sometimes appreciate the “outside” view.
- Anonymous
Can I ask you then??!
Seriously. I have been wondering what is involved in getting American citizenship. I mean, is it so hard? someone told me it costs a lot of money. If so, that does not seem right to me.
I think it should be simple and practically free, except for nominal fees for paperwork, so that more people would do it.
Oh, but then I favor English as our language, a learning of history or at least our Constitution, and even a health check. Shows you where I’m coming from.
Still, can’t we make it easier for those who want to become legal to do so? or is it already reasonably simple?
ABC, set me straight, please!!
- http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada
Calm down my friend!
It costs nearly 700.00 to file the forms, then I’d be called for my interview at the closest INS (ICE?) office which is a couple of hours away. I’d be interviewed, then take the citizenship test which is a series of random questions about the US Government and History. Once I pass, then I would go and swear my oath in front of a judge.
Right now, that cost is a bit high, but I’m saving for it. There are charities which help poor folks with their cases, but I don’t qualify. - Anonymous
Same here ABC, (hope you don’t mind the familiarity,) but I feel right at home here! I really enjoy everyone’s comments on Scoop!! ‘Specially yours!! Keep up the good work and lots o’ luck getting the “degree”!!

Thanks to you too!!! BTW, how do I get a cool pix like your avitar, rather than this generic one?
- http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada
I’m not really good at describing things, but I’ll give it my best shot
When you click on your edit profile which should appear to you after your name, click on the tab for Avatar. If you have any pictures stored on your computer you can upload one from there, but it may not come out looking real good if it’s a detailed picture- but you can play around and see what works well. If you don’t have anything stored, go to a site like photobucket, and go to pages of things that interest you. I love daffy for his sarcasm and silly wit, so that’s where I got a couple of my photos from, and I change them on here when the mood strikes me.
FInd some cool pictures you like, and you should be able to right click to save in your pictures on your PC. Then you’ll have something to upload. Let me know if that helps or not. If it doesn’t- ask K-Bob, he’s usually floating around here somewhere and he’s great with technical stuff.
Have a blessed week my new friend! - Anonymous

A friend of mine sent me the link to an Allen West story here a few days ago and I’ve been here ever since. I love the intelligent discussion and comraderie that isn’t found on most sites these days. I really like it here. I get discouraged with the nastiness on many sites and haven’t really had a “home” in several years, other than nola.com, primarily during football season. I comment occasionally on the local news sites and stories I find on the web, but I’m mainly just passing through. This looks like a good “home.” I promise not to come in and crap on the carpet.

Oh me too. I was there when we were wearing bags to the games. I was there when we went to our first ever playoff game. A week or so later I moved to the Bay Area when the 49ers were all that and we were in the same division. We DID, however, take the division in 1991! I cried when Hartley kicked the FG that sent us to our first ever Super Bowl, and I actually went back to New Orleans for the SB. I just HAD to be in the city with all Saints fans. I’d have kicked myself if I hadn’t! It was unbelievable.
- Linky1
I haven’t made it down to New Orleans yet, but it is on my bucket list. I remember those bag-wearing days and used to get roasted silly for being a Saints fan. Between that and being a rabit Philadelphia Flyers hockey fan, I had a lot of defending to do!!
Now, today, I gloat a little bit more, wear my NO jacket with pride and scared the life out of my dog when they won the SuperBowl. Not too much enthusiasm about tomorrow’s game though………
- http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe
Better make it soon. Ob may make free travel impossible. And, you will sorely regret never going there.
- Anonymous
You simply must visit New Orleans. It’s very unique. I lived there off and on during my parents 32 yr stay, but they moved over here by me after Katrina. SB XLIV was the only time I’ve been back.
As for today’s Snooze Bowl, I’ll be contemplating my navel or watching my hair grow. I can’t stand either team or MADONNA at halftime?? Really? That’s the best they could do?

I have ever used “Blue Language”, however I am known to get very pointed and not very tolerant of stupidity (most importantly my own). While there are heated discussions, there have only been a few that were personally attacking a poster. That being said I do not read all of the posts, so the magnitude is unknown to me.
We are all above the age of majority, and should take corrections in stride. Feel free to tell me if I go too far.

Thank you to Scoop, Red, Dan and K-Bob to make this site a thriving community! Thank you for the great job you do in delivering fresh-from-the-oven news and moderating this site beautifully. I am always relieved when I come to not see the kind of garbage other sites have been tainted with.
Thank you for a great job, guy!PS And Ken, I know I have to think of you as the “Sheriff” now however, I still remember you as the good old Santa you had as an avatar a couple of years ago!

Glad to see this…! I frequently visit this site but have at times been frustrated when respectful dialogue seemed absent. In our current society, with general respect becoming an art of the past, it’s great to see you guys put in writing that respect will be the rule here and not the exception. Thank you.
- http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe
Now, you get a small glimmer, of the ‘old south’, as opposed to modern language.
- Anonymous
Appreciate very much the promulgation of rules for posting!
I hope it’s fair game to express a concerned point of view regarding rule number 7.
Sexism, so-called, is, in my opinion, both an unfortunate conceptual formulation–used by the left to imply that distinctions based on sex are basically false or motivated by ill will, and a category error–one might argue that racial differences are relatively minor and should not be emphasized, but sexual differences are vast, effect all areas of life, and cut across all races (isn’t it the liberals who want to deny that, and conservatives who are happy to face it squarely and even emphasize it when relevant?) For example, here’s a link to conservative author John Lott arguing that female suffrage leads to bigger, more liberal government: http://johnrlott.tripod.com/op-eds/WashTimesWomensSuff112707.html There are other, more detailed, international studies reaching the same conclusion.
Homophobia is such an accusatory word, and so often used by the left as a lazy way to dismiss arguments against the supposed validity of the homosexual lifestyle. It focuses on the alleged thought behind speech rather than the speech. I understand the difficulty in coming up with a better word, or utlizing a longer-than-one-word term for the prohibited speech, but my reaction is that this is a term that plays into the leftist/secularist/materialst worldview.
I understand it may seem like a big deal being made a few little words. I just want to express the view that the left attempts to shape and limit individual and collective thought patterns, and public debate, via terminology. It may take a special effort not to fall into their ‘trap.’
- http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe
I tried, really tried to hate your post, but you smooth tongued devil, you swung me around. Great post. Prosper, and live long.
- K-Bob
Your comment is an example of how to discuss touchy subjects. Let’s set the bar high on those. If it takes a lot more thought to make the comment work, that’s a good thing.
I mean, as long as we are spending so much time here, we all may as well profit from it, right?
- Is_Sense_Common
Your comments are well-noted and appreciated, kind sir(s). The great stories are only 1/2 the greatness of this site. The fellow commentators are truly second to none & I appreciate the efforts that are given to keep our conversations & debates above the fray. Keep up the great work!

I really enjoy this site and am glad to get the feedback. I just recently stopped posting on the Blaze because there were some pretty nasty comments being made to a poster. So I said I am out of here. I am always comfortable with the dialog here. So I must have missed any nastiness here. This a great site with good info. Thanks everyone.
- Anonymous
I have to agree with you on The Blaze. I used to read it every day, but the commenters got so nasty I stopped even going there.

I signed up back when it first started and I still get the newsletter every day. For some reason, the passwords they sent never would work and I couldn’t post more than a couple of times, but from what I’ve seen, I’m glad. I honestly wasn’t expecting that level of nastiness. I do read some of the stories, but I learned quickly not to waste time reading the comments. They’re appalling

Don’t ban me bro!
But seriously…
After discovering The Right Scoop by following a link from some conservative author or columnist I can’t remember, I kept returning because of the conservative bent and the mostly video format because I am usually too impatient to read. I’ve enjoyed the typically adult, thoughtful, patriotic vibe, and I appreciate your efforts to maintain it. I’ve made The Right Scoop a daily read… er… view. - http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe
I strongly fought against commenting RS. But i lost. As a child, I was taught ‘blue’ language was the mark of an illerate man. I have written extentsively. I still form my basis on reading, if a person resorts to profanity, I afford him little respect. Profanity disguised with asterisks, do little to change my view. Attacks based on religion, morality, and unfounded ‘facts’, are discounted as well. Okay,if you expressly extend an opinion, but not, trying to prove your point. I give you the civil war as a point. Most of those facts are warped beyond reason. As a post grad, I learned to discuss, with respect due to one’s position, without trying to discredit the other enity. So, having said that, it is with great surprise, some of my comments are ref to moderators,(code for discard). I suspect a sort program, at fault. Thanks for reading, RS. Live long and prosper.
- 11Steve11
Heated debate is the name of the game, I guess. I so agree that personal attacks and profanity are rude and uncalled for. I would like to be one of the first to extend the olive branch and if I have personally offended anyone I would like to offer up my most sincere of apologies. I would also like to thank Scoop and all who are involved in this site for the informative platform that they provide to promote the cause of conservative political principles.

I can’t tell you how happy I was to wake up this morning to see the comment policy posted. I’ve noticed some “newbies” posting some troublesome comments (let’s say out of character of the regular TRS group) in the last week or so, and I was so worried that the trolls would take over the comments here. I’m glad you guys noticed as well and took action.
Love this place and everyone in the TRS community! Keep up the good work.

Good to have reasonable moderating, and kudos to all of you for an A1 site.
I’ll say it again: I come here for the stories and the intelligent discourse around them. I visit other sites and it’s nothing but stupidity, ignorance, and childish behavior.
I know if I’m off base, someone will challenge me with facts and reason, even in disagreement. I do likewise. Good moderation makes that possible.
- Persephone
I’ve been trying to be good.
You know how hard that is for me, Sheriff Ken.I stay away from the Ron Paul threads, because it is just too hard for me to resist calling him

So I look forward to continuing to enjoy posting privileges here, and should I get out of line, all you have to do is say…”Stop it Persephone, you’re doing it again”.
And I will snap out of it.Seriously though, glad to have you here, KenInMontana!

What a difference…
Thanks for the update, KenInMontana.
Wow, what a difference between TheRightScoop and TheBlaze and WND and HotAir and… well, the weird Soros inspired progressive forums, such as Huffington Post, Media Matters, Daily Kos and et al.
After spending 2 hours tonight at WND, an EXCELLENT news site, with the shallow thinking “Obama Birthers” who write such drivel defending the nonsense about Obama’s birth certificate and POTUS eligibility, TRS is definitely a civil forum.
I know that some here do not agree that Article 2, Section1, Clause 5 “natural born citizen” and 14th Amendment “citizen” mean different things, but, at least there’s substance in the comments… well, sometimes there is not, but that’s to be expected.

I’m a birther and proud of it Art, but I totally agree with you on those who comment on WND. I love that site, but the comments are pitiful.
- K-Bob
I’ll join this thread a little late. I was spending the evening with the K-Missus and relaxing in the comfy chair with a glass of Maker’s and ice, with Mr. Kitty purring on my chest. OK it was two glasses. Life is good.
Ken is correct in calling for this now, and Scoop makes it easier for all of us when he puts up the house rules (“Momma don’ allow no guitar playin’ round here”). One thing that comes with expanding popularity of the site is the random influx of folks who’ve never been here. As you’ve noticed, they often come in flaming. So the posted rules make it a lot easier to help them settle in or, if necessary, direct them to the exit.
I have to say, the level of discourse here is startlingly good, especially compared to other political commentary sites. It was easier to establish a good vibe when the site had fewer comments (some early posts had fewer than ten comments, for example). But Scoop’s style and Ken’s watchfulness helped build a really nice community here. (Don’t forget, community is not always a bad word.) So thank you all for bringing your ‘A’ game to the comments section.
One thing that helps in online “debate” is to remember that the internet is essentially a kiosk system (see definition #2 at the link) of communication. (The new kids had to come up with a new term, REST to describe it, but the definition is so tedious it’s just easier to think of a kiosk.) Why do I mention this? Because posts and comments are not the same as going into a room and having a conversation. It’s not “real time.” In fact, as you’ve all figured out by now, it’s “surreal time.”
The good news is, if you use the disqus dashboard, you can see all the responses to your comments, and TAKE YOUR TIME formulating your reply. There’s no hurry to respond at all. You just put up your comment, and eventually someone will reply, and then eventually you’ll respond. You don’t have to answer flames today. Or tomorrow.
Finally, remember: On the Internet, no one knows you’re a dog. Think about that before you respond to “people.”
- Anonymous
Good post k-bob! I have to admit I strayed from the straight and narrow a few days ago and k-bob gave me a gentle smack upside the head for it. Sometimes it is hard not to respond civility when all you really want to do is kick butt. But k-bob was right. I was wrong and I appreciated the reminder.
On another note, I followed the link in k-bob’s comment “on the internet, no one knows you’re I dog” which led to *another* link about “Human flesh search engines”:
“An Internet social search phenomenon in China, known as “human flesh search”, coined the sentence “On the Internet, everybody knows you’re a dog”, due to the human effort-collaborated exposure and mass distribution of personal information.”
Lots of commenters are unaware that the “annonimity” of the Internet is a facade. That’s something to keep in mind.
- Anonymous
Nope, no anonymity anymore. The technology today can track us all.
Warts and all, I’m EXACTLY the same online as in person, except that online you can’t see me talking with my hands or the expressions on my face. I do tend to be a smart aleck and I love a good laugh! LOL!
- http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada
OH YAY! There’s a few of us here who talk with our hands too!!

- K-Bob
Well, now. That’s kinda creepy. That explains how people have been picking celebrities out of Google “street view”.

Thanks again for the reminder… excellent photo.

As I said before, I’m guilty of some of the things mentioned – saying things out of frustration and at other times, just trying to be cute. I know better…
“Attack the idea, not the person”. I actually use that in the management and leadership training that I create. So funny that I got mad enough to violate that “golden” rule.
I’m thankful for this site, the people who manage it, the content, and the commentators. The discussions have been enlightening and therapudic.

I go on huff-po a lot, just to see what’s being said. If you post on there, you are walking into a mine field. Name calling seems to be a prerequisite for posting there. If they don’t like your opinion they make personal attacks.
- Anonymous
Omg, I keep forgetting that when I pull up a story from my aohell home page, it goes right to Huffpo. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such nastiness in my life. I have NEVER posted there even though there are times I have something to say.
- http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada
I did once, and got so many notices on my e mail for responses, and they were all vile. It’s pitiful the hate on that site.

Glad I never signed up to reply. That’s awful!

Fantastic! I had actually pulled back from participating because of the nastiness.

Ken. Let me be the first to say that I love *** Right Scoop. These are the best selection of news stories and comments and commenters anywhere on the net. I always feel like I am being manipulated by the stories the Blaze presents.
You all have taken Right Scoop from a the dense underbrush into the light. I won’t waste a single *** keystroke anywhere else.
(Can’t you please add the word “Santorum” to the Right Scoop dictionary?)

I guess I should have a self-inflicted ban on myself as I am guilty of all counts.
1.I wish harm or death on the evil-doers that want to destroy America (It’s a job but somebody has to do it right?)
2.Nazi references. See #1
3.Profanity- Sometimes I forget I am not down range and need to leave my profanity laced tirades in the field.
4.Disgusting comments-See # 3. I am also guilty of not posting enough.Work 70 hours a week at a job that can also be kind of disgusting at times.
5.Off Topic- Guilty, when I talked to conservative Hippie about his dad on a Santourm page.Oops.
6.Ads or Spam- Hey what’s wrong with Spam? It’s better then an MRE.
7.Racist,Sexist or Homophobic-I am guilty of flirting with the beautiful ladies here.
Sorry if I offended you.8.Duplicates- Actually Triplicates is the standard operating procedure.
9.Other source material-I posted a GI Joe vs Ken video the other day to show NC Hokie that Joe always wins the girl.(sorry Ken-in-Montana,no offense)
10.Threats- Hmmm.Don’t remember doing that but I might have????
11.ALL CAPS-GUILTY WHEN I AM TRYING TO GET A POINT ACROSS AS SCREAMING.
That I should be able to control.Anger management classes have helped.12.Trolls- Aren’t those little Green monsters that live under a bridge? Well if they are armed, the rules of engagement say I have a right to fight.
Well i guess i covered all the bases. So do I at least get a court martial hearing?
Later.

If you are aware of your transgressions and react accordingly, I would guess self-deportation is not necessary

You know I don’t break the rules.I was being a feisty.facetious little twerp that morning.
As for your “I’m not so beautiful” comment,I beg to differ.Your intellect and integrity are what really matter.Did you know that is more attractive to most men? When you meet some hair brained little idiot that can’t tell you who the vice president is or read the hands on a clock because it’s not digital,I tend to think it may be a lost cause. When I read the comments of the brilliant women here my faith is restored.
And NO I will not follow the rules when it comes to flirting with the smart women here. You are stuck with me,but you all love it.LOL - http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada
I know you don’t break the rules- that’s why I enjoy your comments so much :0) You’re the sweetest GreenBeret I know!

LOL, I have yet to see anything in your comments thus far that warrants self deportation, much less anything that rises to the level a courts martial offense. I always pictured trolls as having a sickly purplish-gray hue, but green works too.

“Thus far” Hmmm sounds like a challenge.I don’t get the opportunity to defy orders very often (never) and as I told ABC I was being a facetious little twerp that morning.
Sickly purplish-gray trolls? I don’t care what color they are.If they are locked and loaded they are dust. Rock on.

The moderation change is a good thing. Sometimes, it is too easy to be angry and write out some cranky post and hit send before really thinking about the words written. I am guilty of it, and I have regretted some things I have posted on the net here and there. There has to be a moderation, even when the whole purpose is free speech. Also, I can’t tell you how many times I have heard Mark Levin mention this website. He is the reason I found you. If you are high on his list, you are high on mine.

Heard Mark mention Right Scoop by name on his show last Wed (?). Ran in and told my wife right away.

Right Scoop has always been my favorite, 1st-to-check forum of the morning, and my always-come-back-to throughout the day. I do more sharing from this site than from any others. Simply awesome!

So the moderators have a blue star next to their name. I never noticed that. But then I rarely notice a posters name but what they write.
This reminds me of junior high. And my job in corporate America. Weak teachers, and weak bosses, never have the nerve to confront the actual perpetrators. No, the only way they can deal with behavior they don’t like is to issue new rules (gee, that sounds familiar) that admonish everybody. One bully is all it takes to get the rules changed for everybody. One employee comes in late everyday, takes long lunches, and leaves early everybody gets the memo threatening action to anybody who does the same, complete with the manager standing outside the door watching everyone.
And you know what? The person it was all for never gets it was meant for them. If anything, it gives them a sense of power. Look at what I caused?
Sheriff’s stoop? Really? Whatever.
Don’t worry, I got the message. Even if it wasn’t meant for me.
- http://www.davemacleod.net/ dmacleo
I took it as humorous and informative.
course I am kind f twisted so take that with a grain of salt. - Anonymous
Wow. There’s a lot of things that get my knickers in a knot, but this isn’t one of them. I thought this is one of the most civil sites I’ve seen even before the “rules” were posted and I’d sure like to see it stay that way.
- Anonymous
Long ago they made rules and stuck to them, penalizing perpetrators in an appropriate manner. What you are describing is the liberal do-nothing way of making new rules simply to make it appear they are earning their paycheck without actually confronting the problem. It is something that has plagued our schools, workplaces, etc. right up to our legislators. Even in the way we deal with our enemies.
We need a return to actually confronting scofflaws desperately and if it begins at TRS, more power to them.
- http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada
Well said toon!!

Well I must say, it’s encouraging to see all the positive feedback from this Ken. I’ve been coming here since last fall and like the regulars [you know who you are] we have seen many new names arrive here and many old ones depart as well.
But nonetheless, this is imo the premier hub for the “in-the-know” Intel regarding politics. I would implore [but lightly] that us longtime regulars assist Ken in whatever capacity we feel comfortable with in just reminding those new to our sight [said with much pride] the rules.
RS…, I don’t know if this is part of registering, but maybe a required reading of the rules and accepting thereof would be in order to be allowed in to post. Then there would be no argument for someone to say; “Hey I didn’t know the rules”.
And in the meantime, those of us who do feel so inclined can be the spotlights [i.e friendly reminders] onto those who forget the rules on occasion.
Civility is without a doubt achievable here!

Four Letter Word
You can us it as an adjective!
You can use it as a noun!
You can use it as a verb
but that doesn’t change the sound! You can use it with a suffix,
if you think that makes it work!
Yet it still has little value,
it’s a funny kind of quirk. It grew from shallow knowledge,
with no substance to refine.
So regardless of the polish
it only clutters up the mind.It amazes me to hear it
because it seems absurd,

Four Letter Word…
What a thoughtful poem, ClydeHady.
For years I’ve wondered why people use a certain four letter “F” cuss word, and why they replace it with the other “F” cuss word, the so-called meaningless “freaking” cuss word?
What does the original four letter “F” word mean to people who use it?
Why do they replace it with another “F” word if the first “F” word can not be used?Words have meaning.
What does either four letter “F” cuss word mean?
Something?
Nothing? If it means something, what does it mean?
If it means nothing, why use it?Words have meaning.
Why not use words that have meaning?- – - – - – - – - -
Is your poem original to you, ClydeHady?
If it is used elsewhere, is attribution required?Art

Thanks for the help! - Anonymous
how is it done? i need help, too!
- http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada
I copied what I wrote for lilig- she got it well so I guess my instructions aren’t too bad
Have a blessed week my MLCBLOG!

Ah!!! Vous parlez francais mon amie!!!! Moi aussi….un peu. (Mais je ne sais pas comment faire les accents!) Peut-etre on peux ecrire en francais, et quelqu’un ne peu nous compendre….eh?
- http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada
It’s funny you say you can’t do the accent- me either very well. But a funny story kind of, when I moved to Texas, I wanted to learn some Spanish because there were so many hispanics around where I lived and worked. There was no Spanish speaking TV there at the time, so I bought a spanish language book and learned all sorts of words. Only problem was, when I spoke them, I was pronouncing in French and had them all wrong!!!

- Anonymous
Ah!! C’est drole!! Parce que la meme chose m’arrivee’!! I had taken French in high school and college, and when my boyfriend went on an LDS Spanish Speaking Mission,….I thinks to meself….I’m gonna learn me some Spanish so’s we can communicate, besides, Spanish is much more useful than French!!!…so I took a Spanish class, and like you, no one could understand my French pronunciations. Now I have a son-in-law who is Mexican, tho’ born in AZ, and try as I might, when he tries to teach me some Spanish, it comes out sounding French!! But…it’s the same when he tries to learn French!!! It’s really hilarious to hear us!! We call it “Franglish”, or “Sprench”!

- http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

As one of the culprits who may have been the reason for some of these rules, I agree with them. I apologize to the few people I offended. I just find it so hard anymore with all that’s going on to not get fired up sometimes. I’ve been coming to this site for a couple years now I think and never got that agitated till the GOP race. I want to bite my own fingers off sometimes because the candidates, the smears and all the rest are so frustrating. Anyway, I love this site and will try my darnedest to stay steady.
With the primary season in full swing I am sure everyone here has noticed the increased level of inflammatory
passion exhibited by proponents of the candidates involved. This was not unexpected, and while it is a good thing to vet our candidates and air our positions on those candidates, it is not a good thing for it to devolve to a childish level .
That said, it has not gone unnoticed that there has been an increase in the amount of derogatory rhetoric of an increased personal nature directed at posters. In plain language, personal insults, attacks, and a wagon load of name calling, all of it conduct unbecoming of folks that fancy themselves mature adults. Well it has gotten to the point where it has become disruptive to the community here at the Rightscoop, which is the reason for this post.
When I first “stumbled” across this site, after quite a bit of surfing about looking at different forums and blogs, I thought “this is a nice place, perhaps I’ll hang here and check it out”. The size of the community was modest, but the threads were active. Unlike many forums I looked at where the most recent post was nine months old (I’m sure most of you have seen those forums), it was still an “open” forum as opposed to many that have closed their registration, allowing for no new voices to participate. Since that time the traffic here has exploded (figuratively) and “Scoop” was working very hard to maintain and build the community here, while providing content that was relevant, fresh and interesting. He “recruited” some of us as moderators to help “keep the peace” and allowing him to focus on the content. Then things around here “took off” as I am sure many of the long time “residents” will recall when the Rightscoop broke into the ranks of the top 20 Conservative blogs. Traffic here has increased exponentially with that, as a result Scoop brought more contributors and moderators on board to help with the workload, all the while maintaining the sense of community here. I for one think he has done a fantastic job and deserves one heck of a lot of praise for that.
This brings me to the subject of moderation. When I started as a moderator here, we were going for a more “relaxed” passive form of moderation. Only banning those who were blatant serial troublemakers and then only after multiple cautionary warnings and as a last resort. This worked well for a while, but as the site’s popularity and notoriety (among those on the left side of things) increased, it became clear that moderation of the site would need to step up to a more active form of moderation. This site probably has some of the most active moderation of any forum or blog on the web, as in that I’m sure posters have noticed that, we always seem to be around whether “lurking” or actively participating in the threads. We have opinions and points of view just like the rest of you and we enjoy a good exchange as much as anybody else does. In performing our “duties” as moderators we try to be as fair as possible, recognizing that discourse of a political and spiritual nature can be vigorous and invoke strong passions. We have granted leeway to many of the longtime posters as well, sometimes admittedly probably a bit more than we should have. As a result we are going to “tighten things up” just a little and strive harder to be more even handed in our approach. Make no mistake here, it is still our policy “to suffer no troll to live”, period, exclamation point, end of story.
A few things to mention here to cut down on the “I didn’t know” excuses.
Moderators are fairly easy to spot here by the blue colored header over their comments as well as the blue star that follows their screen name. If someone with that header warns you about something, ignoring what they have to say is ill-advised, as is getting belligerent in response, neither is conducive to the longevity of one’s posting privileges here.
On the subject of posting, it is a Privilege not a Right. I am sure most here have seen posters whine how we as moderators are violating their 1st Amendment Rights, in response I will quote a favorite artist of mine, “Excuse me? First Amendment? Son, the first amendment protects you from the government, not from me. You can say whatever you want too out there, but if you come within reach of me, I’ll exercise my right to give you a good ol’ country @$$ whoopin’ is what I’ll do”. Yes, contrary to popular belief, we do have a sense of humor.
We have noticed an increase in the use of “off color” or “blue” language, We are “requesting” that y’all dial it back a notch or three. If you feel that strongly about something that you feel the need to express with those type of “colorful metaphors” at least have the courtesy to “disguise” it with symbols. Otherwise use your “big people words”.
Likewise, the use of derogatory, insulting, personal attacks on other posters, we are likewise “requesting” that these be dialed back/ceased. We are adults here, we would ask you to conduct yourselves as such. To quote one of our moderators “Attack the idea, not the person”.
What we are striving to accomplish is to keep our community here from devolving into the type of places that other blogs/forums have become, like the Blaze or even Hot Air, where constant personal attacks are the order of the day instead of a place for an exchange of ideas, open discussion and civil adult debate. We hope that you all share that goal.
I would encourage everyone who posts here to check out the new “rules” page Scoop has put together. You can find it in a link above the “write your comments” box.
