Oil Volcano = Fire Hydrant and a Garden Hose

The way things are going, the oil leak is never going to get repaired. We can see this why the absolutely insane fixes that have already been tried.

It’s time for group think. The amount of people who visit this site should be able to come together and create a real world workable solution. Also, I know that there are those that read this site that could get the nation talking about real world solutions.

The reason why the engineers working on the Deep Water Horizon problem are not coming up with a viable plan is that they are working on the problem from the middle, as in how it should have worked and trying to put a fix in the middle. No. Wrong. Very wrong. A break in the middle of the well in not the problem they should be working on.

The Real Problem: A stream of material is issuing forth from the bottom of the ocean with volcanic pressures.

Understanding the small scale tests must be first run and then and only then used on the large scale.

The Small Scale: You have a Fire-hydrant breach. Shutting off the water supply is not an option. Now, attach a garden hose to it.

This is a re-post from the “Luntz” thread but it seems relevant in this one.
Saw this link posted all by it's lonesome on the earlier Mark Levin thread. I don't know much of anything about the guy in the interview, just haven't had the time to research him much, aside from him being an advocate of “nuking” the hole, he brings up a Wood's Hole Institute ship doing a bottom survey around the well finding a “lake” of heavy oil on the bottom covering (he claims 40% of the Gulf bottom) the sea floor.Does anyone know anything about this guy? Is he legit or a crackpot?

Personally I was thinking about a large cylinder (half of the depth of the cylinder would go over the existing well pipe) with open valves on the side a hole at the top and bottom. One of the problems is attaching something against all that pressure. So as you are welding the bottom and whatnot the oil if pouring out of the valves. The top hole already has a pipe thing going to the platform. Once the weld at the bottom is secure close the valves and the oil pressure is directed up the pipe. Of course you would need braces for the cylinder not to collapse down around the existing well pipe.

I've heard from several sources the biggest issue with capping the well head is that the casing has been blown out and without the casing capping or relief wells will not work to seal it. I'm no expert on drilling but with as many people as I've heard talk about it, it can't bode well for this.

Which is why they need to look at this as a whole new problem. As with a car, if the engine fails do to the head being cracked. Don't try to cap the head, instead you tow the car. Think outside the pipe. Approach it as a whole new phenomenon.
