Here's when not to use the word "illegal": when a crime is not perpetrated. It is a crime to enter the United States without going through LEGAL channels to become an accepted member of this country. When to use the word "undocumented": when the immigrant fails to bring his or her required paperwork along to INS interviews AFTER he or she has already legally applied for and received a work visa, student visa, or green card.

Detroit was exactly the wasteland I was thinking about. Excuse me for being too general. 'Obamaland, Illinois' means Chicago. There are parts of both these states that are completely normal. I was born in New York but New York City is an alien planet.

I was talking with my son about this last night (drones, assassination, rendition, violation of rights by this government etc). I asked why his friends/generation (the Obama sycophants) do not see it and why they are not outraged.
What he told me was interesting. He said that of course his friends see it. They are as mad, or madder than when they railed against Bush2. But he said, they place zero blame on Obama. No connection at all between the man and his policies! They see Obama as the great crusader who is fighting against insurmountable odds to stop all this.

I hope your sons friends realize they will suffer for their failure of holding "O" accountable. The policies they give him a pass on will come back to bite them and ruin their lives. This needs to be pointed out to them, they need to expand their thought process and learn to think…
This is where the GOP is failing, the connection is not being made with our youth. I don't know if it is schooling or lack of parenting but it would seem there is a lack of connection between actions and consequence. Maybe more parents should be getting out "the belt of discipline", it at least makes a direct connection between actions and consequences...
sDee, that is exactly what I've seen. I laugh when I see articles about how happy people in Europe are. How can they be happy, they have nothing to compare their existence too, they have no concept of what freedom is, they except being property of the state and have been deprived the prospect to think or do otherwise. They live minimalist lives in empty tiny apartments, with nothing to look forward too.

I suggest an exercises to see how that works for them in practice. Something like having them intending to pay their rent but don't, let them see how well that goes over, or invite them over for dinner but don't feed them… Intent is not a measure we should be holding our representatives too, results are… Unfortunately these young people are going to have a hard life if they continue down this path.
That is actually how we got talking about this. Our kids were raised understanding where socialism leads - not so for many of his peers who have no independent thought.
I told him that there is a very real possibility unless he and his friends join us in this fight, that his children will never even know freedom. I told him of the difference between me and my cousins in Europe. My father escaped the destruction of National Socialism while his brother stayed under a naive intellectualism that socialism could be redirected for good.
My cousins have no spark of life - no fire. They accept their secure job, their uniformly modest apartments, and no prospect of every owning a car, or land, or their own home. They cannot understand why I do not take vacation and worked 60 hours a week my whole life. They get all bubbly at their prescribed vacation time at one of a few prescribed locations affordable to them. Sad, yet they think they've such a high quality of life. They have never known freedom nor the work it takes to realize it.
Maybe we should adapt "criminal fence jumpers", how about "subversive law breakers", no come to think of it Illegal is a pretty accurate term.
Question is what should we call an elected official that is supporting illegal activities? I would suggest "inmate" would be a good start.
How about enemy invaders? Foreign nationals that enter this country with no intention to assimilate and become citizens through legal channels are not "guests". Some of them have maimed, mutilated, and murdered American citizens. That is the act of an enemy combatant/invader.

It would seem that militias from certain countries are invading our lands. We also know that some members of our government have gone to great lengths to arm some of these militia members.
Now, we are seeing a concerted effort to provide cover and assistance for these same militia members!
Yes, it would be reasonable to say there is a conspiracy be perpetrated on upon the American citizen!

According to one report Obama's new Immigration plan would have made it easier for the 9-11 Hijackers to enter this country and become citizens. I wonder if that tidbit will make it's way in this debate.
All of the 9/11 terrorists would qualify under the DREAM Act too. So it's not just under Barky's plan.
