The animated GIF below pretty much speaks for itself. Talk about contrast:

I would like to know the premiss of exactly what Mr. McCain and others are so happy about? The SOTU, Michelle's new dress, the over powering debt, Iran's envolvement im preoliferating nuclear materials or perhaps the out of control spending. I haven't had tome to read alot of the posts on thos thread, so If I have piggy backed on anyones thunder, it just means I agree with many here and I am sorry to have joined the discussion so late. I seen this at work and had to go to a late mass for Ash Wednesday, but had another issue I read over at news busters. I thought that since this an open thread I would share something I feel very strongly about, it does have a connection to the SOTU (I promise)

Fort Hood Hero Neglected.

From: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-blumer/2013/02/12/sotu-flashback-and-fast-forward-fort-hood-heroine-now-feels-betrayed

Sgt Munley, a victim of Maj Nadal Hasan’s shooting at Fort Hood TX., and recent guest of President Obama at his SOTU address, is now feeling betrayed and forgotten. Any clear thinking person would quickly choose to call Maj Hasan’s attack at Fort Hood what it is, an Act Of Terror. As such, this act of terror is an act of war. President Obama and many on the progressive left have decided to call this anything but an incident of work place violence. In this cowardly choice of words, the progressive left has placed Sgt Munley, and all the other victims in a very precarious position.

At the current time, these victims are classified as receiving injuries other than combat related. To the average civilian this may mean very little, but to any one that has served in the military this means a great deal. Sgt Munley, as a result of Obama’s poor interpretation of the tragedy, could and probably will miss out on some benefits.

If an injury is determined as combat related, the V.A. disability program is put into action and benefits based on the severity of the disability are then paid. Let us not forget, these injuries will be with Sgt Munley for the rest of her life. Other benefits like being correctly identified as being physically limited may be diminished as well. Access to retraining for jobs that will not exasperate her injuries or limit her ability to be successful could be withheld as well.

I am sure the last thing on Sgt Munley’s mind is an award, but by calling this an “Incident of Work Place Violence” instead of an Act Of Terror, omits this brave person being awarded the Purple Heart, an award that this 22 year veteran believes is mandatory for this and every victim Maj Hasan wounded or killed.

Getting past politics, getting past ideology, getting past one’s self image, we must not be afraid to call a terrorist attack a terrorist attack. Therefore we must be brave enough to support heroes that put themselves in harm’s way regardless of where the event takes place! No matter if the event takes place here or in a foreign country, bravery should be acknowledged and to choose words that are less offensive to those that hate us is cowardice in its purest form.

I can't argue with a single point, armyvet. In my mind there is no justifiable reason NOT to call Ft Hood a terrorist attack.

McCain duffus statement of the day (so far):

"I'd be comfortable with my daughter serving in combat."

Really? Really? I respect your service to this country but you would really be okay with your daughter having the potential of being a POW like you were? She would probably be treated worse i.e. rape. I wouldn't want that to happen to my daughter if I had one.

thanks C F. I won't ever be comfortable serving next to her. Well dada JM may have a point there, enemy may be very scared & run for their lives should they spot her in combat, I would !

A gif loop is worth a thousand volumes of Republican rhetoric.

I guess that's why Joe Scarborough and friends viciously attacked Senator Cruz today. And of course they used John McCain's comments defending his good friend Chuck Hagel to attack Cruz as well. Below is a video link and I recommend watching at least first 3 minutes:

Also, McCain and Lindsey Graham were the 2 fools clapping in the animated GIF with those leftists Senators from NY. Ronald Reagan said many times he didn't leave the Democratic Party - it left him. I feel the same towards the Republican Party today.

I feel the same as Ted Cruz...what was there to laugh and clap about? Sickening!

Sorry- posted this on the older O/T by accident, but still it's worth repeating...

Alright- I'm way down near the bottom, so I don't know who will see this- but hopefully those who need to will.

I've been noticing for the past few months now again a lot of activity through e mail alerts every time a comment is flagged. While I appreciate folks being diligent because the moderators can't be everywhere at once when someone makes a truly offensive comment, a lot of the complaints seem to be out of disagreeing with what someone says.

I understand a lot of what is annoying about many of the comments, but seriously, we can't go banning people or kicking them out just because we disagree with their opinions.

I ask that new folks would kindly check out the comment policy before posting, http://www.therightscoop.com/t...

The Right Scoop is the classiest site on the net and we want to keep it that way. We have always had a friendly community here, and again, we aim to keep it that way.

For everyone, new or who have been here a while, please read the Observations from the Sheriff's Stoop. http://www.therightscoop.com/o...

It's worth a refresher every now and then. Thank you!

Hmmmmm, what can the dems do with this picture?.....Possibly demonize him for not understanding things as clearly as he should as evidenced by this picture of a nonpartisan backslap fest. Hilarious, the press is making a big deal over Rubio taking a swig of water but give little attention to a guy destroying our economy, taking our freedoms and generally raping us all under the guise of being Robin Hood. It's more like Robbing for the Hood.. That Cruz guy and his amigo Rubio, them guys are bad, look, one takes sips of water and the other don't know a good thing when everyone else does.

ALL of these people 'R' and 'D' live quite well in an artificial world, created by us. DC and Maryland have some of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation because we are paying most of the salaries there too.

One thing out of many: Raising the minimum wage above the market equilibrium is nothing but another hidden tax on businesses. No socialist has ever been a proponent of pro-growth policy, not in my nor any of the my immediate ancestors' lifetime. Just a thought from a compassionate conservative who gives a damn!!

Great animation! Appreciation for McCain's military service is separate from his abysmal performance as a Senator. He is the poster boy for all we know is wrong with many Republicans politicians. This is a sorry sight for any American who knows the criminality of Obama's administration.
