I wonder if these buffoons are aware of the consequences of making a citizen's arrest on unsubstantiated or false charges?

On a side note, apparently congress as grown a spine (sorta kinda maybe) in regards to the administration's attempts to apply Net Neutrality via regulations by the FCC.

This is kinda old news. Why post it now?

  • williamm

Maybe you can make a list of things ok to post on here. I really hate to see anything upset you. If that doesn't work, maybe you could just ignore it. I had a whiney old aunt just like you.

I know I've been called left for my more Libertarian ideas, but I kind of agree with Code Pink in regards to the previous administration being war criminals and the current one being so as well for continuing the nonsense in the Middle East. That's just me though.

  • williamm

Do you agree with them that the marines are war criminals or that Al-Qaeda is not a threat? They are a bunch of looney tunes. I respect your right to express your opinion, but remember without our military we wouldn't have the right. I don't like the war, but remember we didn't fly planes into their buildings. If everyone had the turn the other cheek attitude, we would be speaking German or Japanese. Thankfully not everyone was a coward back then.

I keep hearing people throw the “war criminal” accusation around,I wonder why no one ever offers or substantiates specifically what the crime or crimes are.I want specific charges along with the law violated and evidence. I'll be waiting.

  • Tyler

I only said about the administration being criminal. Remember, I'm a “conspiracy theorist,” who believes that every “war” from Vietnam on were basically caused by false flag operations.

I absolutely agree that the military overall are good people and out of the 500,000+ people enlisted maybe a total of 30 might be cruel and unusual (bleeps). I met people when I was in the army who joined solely to “kill those sand niggers,” without even caring if they kill innocents in the process, but I don't characterize the entire military that way.

I thank God regularly that there are so many people who continue to join and who did what I couldn't do (re-up). As long as people are still voluntarily giving their lives for this country, that means I won't have to do it again.

They invaded Iraq without an official declaration of war for starters. I'm not familiar with the exact law that breaks, but I'm pretty sure that's a war crime in itself…as in preemptive striking PERIOD being some sort of crime if not a war crime.

I've said it before. I'm aware of Saddam's atrocities and am glad that he's no longer doing the sick and twisted things to Kurds that he once was, but we should stick with A) OFFICIAL wars (which the “War on Terror”) is not either and B) one war at a time.

Sorry to say that no, even a so-called “undeclared” war is not a war crime, that said congress voted overwhelming in favor of going into Iraq, was the action taken, relying on questionable or flawed intelligence? Yes but that still does not constitute a “war crime”. Preemptive strikes are a tactic not a war crime. If you want to get technical both Korea and Vietnam were undeclared wars, but, again not a war crime. War crimes by definition are;Any of various crimes, such as genocide or the mistreatment of prisoners of war, committed during a war and considered in violation of the conventions of warfare. Before going off about prisoners like those detained at Gitmo, I would suggest consulting a couple of sources like The International Rules for Soldiers and The Geneva Conventions, the reason being is those detainees fall outside the protections of the conventions, much the same as mercenaries do. As to “collateral damage”, as in the incidental or accidental deaths or injuries of non-combatants or civilians, while a tragic occurrence, are one of the hard realities of war. Should such incidents be examined, yes. But automatically declared “war crimes”,no.
