O’Reilly to Coburn: What’s with the Fox News bashing?

Coburn seems to be operating in a world of opinion and generalizations, so much so that he can’t offer a refutation to O’Reilly when he calls him on his allegation that Fox News suggested people would go to jail. I know it’s been talked about, but I don’t remember that conclusion being drawn outside of trying to figure out what actually happens when you refuse to sign up. Allahpundit finds some ‘evidence‘ that it was spoken on Fox News, but even then it wasn’t by Greta, but by her interviewee, Rep. John Shadegg. I think Bill was looking for any ’employee’ of FNC that made that suggestion.

And since when does Fox News demonize people? I know that the left will quickly site Glenn Beck, but he doesn’t demonize them, he plays their words. He works hard to ensure that he has the facts when he presents a case about someone, like Van Jones or Obama. This isn’t some case of smearing them because he doesn’t like them, he simply presents the facts. Point being that FNC doesn’t demonize people. If you want demonization, go to MSNBC. In fact, just tonight, Olby in his intro called Sarah Palin an idiot.

Bottom line is that Coburn doesn’t come off well here. Instead of backtracking he tried to take the high road, the road the Left always tries to take when trying to rise above the hate. He comes off sounding a bit naive about the other side. He just needs to understand that the people on the Left, primarily the leadership are out for blood. He sounds like he’s bringing a water pistol to a gun fight.

What do you think?
