O’Reilly vs Sharpton on Tea Party Anger

O’Reilly and Sharpton went rounds on the recent cries of racism and violence within the Tea Party. When O’Reilly questioned him about it, Sharpton tried to say that the had seen the video and heard the racial slurs. O’Reilly called him on it because there is no video proof of what was alleged. Sharpton then, in defending Pitts who wrote the article in question, tried to say that Pitts said there were ‘elements’ of racism, that he wasn’t painting the whole Tea Party as racist. But that’s simply not true and O’Reilly could have done a better job of pointing that out.  Pitts never used the word ‘elements’ and he was in fact painting the entire Tea Party as racist as O’Reilly kept asserting. Read the article yourself.

Overall it didn’t feel like a ‘win’ even though O’Reilly had some good moments. It should’ve been easy to expose the dishonesty that Sharpton was pimping but it utterly got mired in minutiae.
