Palin lowers the BOOM on Mitt Romney! Who else in the entire GOP field has done this? Compare this Tim Pawlenty, who couldn’t go after Romney in the last debate. Palin is one shrewd cookie. She is already setting up the next GOP debate to be a tee off on Mitt Romney to lower his numbers ahead of her announcement! And to those who think she’s not running, why then does she go after Romney like no one else has?

She was not amused by Hannity joking about her running for POTUS…She said something about legal reasons for not declaring…I think she is going to run.
- Anonymous
I think she was talking about the legal reasons for declaring soon, that is the necessity of declaring soon because of statutory deadlines on declaration for Republican Primary candidacy in some of the states. If she is going to run as a Republican, she has to declare by a particular date, and the state with the earliest declaration deadline determines the breadth of the primary field.
Now, the deadline for independent declaration is much later, but the burden of registration is higher in each state (number of signatures, etc.)
She is one calculating woman! The TEA party ‘hostage’ power was tested these last two weeks, and was demonstrated to be sufficient to alter the entire establishment dance in Washington. The Republicans couldn’t pass the bill with only Republicans, so they had to dilute the final deal from Harry Reid with enough leftist bloat so they could bring House democrats on board to pass it. The Republican Establishment is weaker than we realized.
She now knows she is in the driver’s seat for the Republican primary, she can wait it out longer than any other candidate. She’s holding the Repub Primary hostage, but none of the candidates or the establishment can say anything because it will be a sign of weakness.
Rick Perry, Chris Christie, (I can’t believe I’m saying this) Jeb Bush, are all the establishment has left to go with if she gets in, but they are constrained by the same deadline that she is.
Obviously, I am leaning toward Palin’s candidacy, but just watching her strategy play out successfully is persuasive. Leaving office 2 years into her governorship to support the TEA party candidates was a big gamble, but her brood of hatchlings just paid dividends.

How true!! You nailed it big time!!

A fine analysis!
- Anonymous
I’m glad you evaluated her remarks in a positive light. It has reinforced my hope for her to run; however I don’t think she is tactically approaching this campaign to benefit herself. She is practically and prayerfully looking for someone that can assimilate the essence of the Tea Party principals. She even said in her Alaskan TV series that she would much more want the freedom of that particular feeling she had at that moment; but she also has shown me that she has Higher principles that is driving her past the false and empty feeling of leisure. She is not in it for the money; and she will run if there isn’t anybody out there that embodies her vision to restore America to the great world status it once had. We need to pray for her because I firmly believe that a good portion of her decision will be a “calling”.
- Anonymous
Good then you’ll probably get this.
She is Deborah. As an administrator/Judge respected among the people, she sits under her tree (whatever trees are common in Alaska) handing out judgements. She’s looking for Barak (not the current one) she says ‘you lead’, he says ‘uh….uh….only if you come with me….the people will follow you’. She says, ‘OK, but know this. A when the songs are sung of this day, when the victory of the Lord is recounted, it will not be your name that is sung, but that of a woman.’
Pretty much sums up the present state of affairs. She sure as heaven is not waiting for me to declare.
That’s why her Christian testimony is important to me. (an authentic one) There are many whom I would follow because I know that the reward they seek is not to be found in earthen vessels, the righteousness they proclaim is not their merit but the robe of Christ, and the ultimate authority is not in the hand of man but in the throne of God. They are not without fault, and I will not elevate any so high as to divorce them from that first nature from which we all derive our common decent. (and I don’t mean Lucy)
You know you’re the leader when you’re going in the right direction and there’s no one else ahead of you.

Wow. For Christians out there, drawing the comparison between SP and Deborah is a very powerful one, and it seems to hit the nail on the head. She really is looking for someone to lead that she can get behind, and I agree with custodydoc: if/when she gets in, it’s going to be because it’s a calling.

Sarah Palin is so articulate and has no fear. No wonder the left hates her. I was so glad to see her expose Romney for being a fraud. Does anyone really believe that if he were in charge that things would change for the better. Palin’s praise of Michele Bachmann was very telling. With few exceptions (Rand Paul, Marco Rubio) the Republican “men” could learn a lot by following the example of Bachmann and Palin.
As an aside, thank you Right Scoop for your excellent site. I really appreciate your hard work, and for finding all this material every day.

Fine and dandy. But, really. Are you suggesting that any current GOP candidate is worse than what he have now?
- Anonymous
Wow. It is difficult to imagine anyone worse than we have now, perhaps Hugo Chavez? But he is not (currently) in the current GOP field. But is your question the most relevant one? After all isn’t that the purpose of the primaries, i.e., to select the best conservative with an opportunity to win?
- Anonymous
Well of course we need to pick the strongest candidate. My point is that one would be hard pressed to find a worse candidate than our current “winner”.

I agree with Cindy09. Romney has some great political advisors and often that is the worst that can happen. I believe that if he gets elected he will be a great leader, but the smart campaign advisors will not let you take any risks at this stage. I hope Palin has just taught him to show some leadership.
Reagan showed that a true leader will teach correct principles and not just what advisors say will get you elected. - Anonymous
Nice props to Bachman supporters…
Since Bachman has stalled, Palin’s going for her supporters.
She’s playing 3 dimensional chess!

I assume that you are referring to Ron Paul. He certainly is astute, principled, and well-spoken, but he is not the only person the elites and statists fear. I too admire Mr. Paul. I just wish that some of his most ardent supporters would not be dismissive of other principled conservatives.

Where are you hearing that Bachman stalled? I kind of read Palin’s enthusiastic response as sincere as well. If she’s just going to be a cheerleader, that was a pro for Bachman, although I don’t think Romney can count on her rooting from the end zone……maybe spiking the ball, but not cheering him.

Michele Bachmann’s “intensity score” among Republican and Republican-leaning independents has fallen by 33% in two weeks and by over 40% since mid-June.
- Anonymous
Bachmann on Watch List
Bachmann’s current Positive Intensity Score of +14 is down slightly, though not significantly, from the +18 Gallup reported last week. Next week’s update will provide a better indication of whether her positioning has indeed slipped.
On a longer-term basis, Bachmann is clearly less well-positioned today than she was in mid-July, when her Positive Intensity Score registered +21. She is also down 10 percentage points since her peak of +24 in mid-June.

That’s too bad. Michele is important for the TEA party brand in the primary. I hope she gets a bump from her stand on the debt limit. ….. …. thinking…. oh.
Methinks I just noticed SP did not mention Ron Paul’s vote against the deal. That kind of blows my whole theory from yesterday playing on KeninMontana’s suggestion of a Palin/Paul ticket. If anybody gets a boost from standing against raising the debt limit, there’s no sane reason Ron Paul shouldn’t.

Oh, without dispute. Rand Paul is a known quantity for me, I’m just not as certain about Rubio. With as hard as the establishment Republicans have been trying to reach out to Hispanic voters (all the way through the Bush era…being squishy on amnesty, the border, etc.), he seems like a convenient figure. He was in politics before the TEA party got going.
I had to check myself when I first started following Allen West; standing, as he did, in such stark contrast to BHO. But when Allen West started talking about his faith, there’s just something a Christian knows that you can’t fake. When he talked about how the ladies at Church, when he was growing up, would put a hurtin’ on him when he didn’t fly straight. I know that, that’s from breeding. When he can talk comfortably about the name of Jesus Christ, that’s from personal experience. It’s what makes Allen West a rare bird. (that, and the balls to fire his pistol next to the Iraqi informant’s ear, I’m guessing Allen West was not the one blinking in the negotiations with speaker Boehner….unless Boehner was blindfolded….which I expect he was not.)
I’ve heard Rubio talk about the American opportunity and the great principles the nation was founded upon, but not his faith; not a passionate defense of his liberty in Christ. (Come to think of it, Palin hasn’t either. But if someone won’t deny accusations of being a creationist, that’s nearly a litmus test.) If Rubio is going to refraining from such articulation to navigate the political waters, he doesn’t have the stomach I need. And if he doesn’t have the faith, he is ill equipped to engage the present crises. But that’s all from my catbird’s seat.

She said what has been lingering in he Haick of my mind during this whole debate: why are these candidates so quiet? Only Bachmann and Paul made their position widely known, although perhaps because they were directly in the process and would need to explain their vote.
This says a lot more than I care to notice about our current field of candidates. If you sit back and calculate/hesitate taking a position on something this important, then I can’t vote for you.
So, unless Palin herself runs, I’m going to stick with Bachmann or Paul. - David Robertson

Did you know that Palin’s writings actually scored a higher grade than Obama? It’s true. Somebody took Palin’s writings and ran them through some program that determines reading and writing by grade and she actually scored higher than Obama did.
As far as her speaking style and syntax, at least she can put three words together in a sentence without an “uh” or an “um” in between two of them. Listening to Obama try to talk coherently is painful. “Uh, let me be clear, um, eh, eh, eh, look, uh, I, uh, I, uh….. Bush….did it.”

As much as I want Sarah to run, her family would be put through living hell as soon as she declares she is running. The commie progressive liberals all had a field day when she was chosen as a VP candidate and they have continued to show, with what they did to Allen West and others, that they have no sense of decency when it comes to attacking an opponent. It is never issue based because that would require a debate of facts, it is always personal attacks on candidates. So if Sarah were to run she would need a security team (secret service) bigger than Glenn Beck’s because I have a sick feeling in my stomach that there would be an attempt on her and probably her family’s life. Sarah keep fighting the good fight outside of running as you are a powerful force that cannot be contained.
- J. Rauch
I agree with you, these freaks are potentially dangerous. Like David Horowitz always says, if you think it’s possible to create a utopian society, what wouldn’t you do to bring it about? I’m not so sure it was in the 60s or 70s that Bill Ayres was caught on tape saying how to get things right the way they wanted them, they might have dispose of 25 million people. He wasn’t kidding.
Nor is Van Jones kidding. He said he became a communist after the Berlin Wall fell. Some other Marxist freak in the administration’s on tape talking about the “wonderful revolution in Venezuela.” They *want* a President for life; they want a Castro and everything that goes with having a Castro right here in the US. If they could get the power to control the Internet, they would shut down this website.
These leftists never think they can’t win the argument because their *argument* might be wrong; they think the people who aren’t buying it are stupid, or else tools of the oppressive capitalist machine, so their opposition to the left is illegitimate.
These people call us terrorists, Nazis, racists, etc., to justify their own disgusting behavior. After all, if someone is a Nazi or a racist, if that’s why they vote the way they do, they have no right to a fair election. The riots in Seattle, where these people covered their faces and destroyed private property — in their minds, they were moral actors.
So you will get no argument from me about Gov. Palin being in danger. She already is danger, right now, and the minute she declares it’s going to get worse, because she’s going to start taking Obama apart immediately. From that moment, the real leftists — the people who are willing to cast as many votes on election day as they can, because they feel justified; the people who riot wearing ski masks like the freaks in the Middle East (whom they admire) — are going to go absolutely bananas. They think they are so close to dismantling this society via a Cloward/Piven strategy or whatever it is they have in mind, they are going to be foaming at the mouth — and while most won’t act, a few of them will.
What they don’t understand is that if they ever did that, if they ever pulled off what they dream of doing, it’s not going to win them the election. Instead, it’ll bring the country to brink of civil war, only they don’t have the numbers to win that fight — not by a long shot.
In part, this is our fault, because we’ve tolerated the criminal behavior of this group of freaks for far too long. E.g., we’ve tolerated massive election fraud as the price of doing business, and this has emboldened them. In 2008, we had in a US polling station men in paramilitary dress, armed with batons, menacing voters.
No more. Do I hear you with me? Yes, I do — I know that. But we cannot say No more with a Tim Pawlenty or a Mitt Romney — they’re not tough enough, and they don’t get who the left is and what they’re really about.
So while I too fear for Gov. Palin and her family’s safety, she can’t sit this one out — she’s not meant to be a cheerleader but a leader, period. As far as I’m concerned, she showed up just in time.
And I think she knows that better than anybody.
- http://twitter.com/Super_Sachiko Jasmine Clark
oh come on. you think that up until now, the family has never gotten death threats and other attacks? i think they’re aware of that. the lefty hate is not new to them. that’s no reason to not run.
plus, WHOEVER the nominee vs obama is will get death threats and stuff, because the left can’t stand to see anyone against their precious obama. by your logic, no one should run against him.

Sarah has class!
If she does run the MSM will attack like never before.
But she will win! - J. Rauch
The more the MSM attack her, the more it will backfire on them. Gov. Palin has their number, just like she’s got Obama’s.
Gov. Palin is the one candidate who can take Obama’s help from the MSM and turn it into a liability — because she’ll call attention to it.
The one thing I worry about is Gov. Palin’s safety. These left-wing nutjobs talk about the right being violent, but we know that’s pure projection. When they call the Tea Party terrorists, it’s because they’ve been looking in the mirror too long. Their craziness, their lust for power, and their loathing for this country’s institutions must never be taken lightly.

I ask you then, Governor Palin, not for my sake, or my daughter’s sake, but for your own sake and the sake of all you love: Take up this fight. Battle relentlessly, not merely through a campaign season, but until your terms expire. It’s a mighty chore. It’s a terrible burden. It’s as awful in contemplation as any political endeavor I can imagine, except for surrender.
I can promise you only that which I can be certain to deliver. I do not speak for a group. I do not speak on behalf of some special interest, save my own, and I do not make idle promises: Run, Sarah Palin! Run! I will stand with you in all ways that I am able. I will deliver yard-signs. I will recruit. I will send such money as I can muster. I will paint my own quarter-mile stretch of rural highway frontage with the name “Palin.” I will be your shield, though you’ll not know it. I will get the vote out to the polls. I will take your part in every fight. I will absorb as many of the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune as circumstance will permit. My support won’t stop on election day, or upon your inauguration. It will in all ways I can make it be seamless and fluid, like a perpetual beast of burden, happily carrying his share, without break or pause or idle. I pledge this, because it’s my life, and my love, and my values now under the gun and whip of the merciless state. It is my future, the future of my daughter, and any children she might one day bear. It is our country, our freedom, and our way of life which is now under severe and gathering threat. It’s me. It’s you. I’m with you. I’d ask my fellow conservatives and also libertarians to do the same.

Voters may differ in how they see Ayers, or how they see Obama’s interactions with him. We’re making no judgment calls on those matters. What we object to are the McCain-Palin campaign’s attempts to sway voters – in ads and on the stump – with false and misleading statements about the relationship, which was never very close. Obama never “lied” about this, just as he never bragged about it. The foundation they both worked with was hardly “radical.” And Ayers is more than a former “terrorist,” he’s also a well-known figure in the field of education.

- J. Rauch
You’re either a liar, Brenda, or an ignoramus. Obama and Ayres go way back; your little lefty sites can call themselves “fact check” or whatever they want: we know tons of stuff — and we haven’t even begun to scratch the surface. You can’t lie and spin this stuff away — the facts are there to be found out, and you can’t stop us from finding them.
Take that brilliant book Obama supposedly wrote — Jack Cashill over at The American Thinker has taken a close look at it in comparison to Bill Ayres’ writings. And you know what? Bill Ayres is a scumbag, but he’s not a bad writer. He’s pretty prolific, too; he has a substantial bibliography, large enough to reveal a style: word preferences, repeated misspellings and unusual spellings, favored metaphors, etc. If you read his books, from one to the other you can tell that the same author wrote them.
Not so with the two books Obama says he wrote. One is so-so in terms of the quality of the prose, while the other is much stronger. And the one that’s stronger, well… let’s put it this way, Brenda: If Obama were an MFA student and handed in “his” manuscript, if the professor ran a plagiarism check against published works, Obama the student would be expelled from the MFA program.
None of the above is debatable. The anti-plagiarism software is what it is; how it works isn’t a secret. Nor is Obama and Ayres’ relationship unknown; it’s just lied about and avoided by the MSM as a topic of discussion. But the MSM are losing power every day; they can’t hide stuff and lie with total impunity like they used to. Obama and Ayres spent *plenty* of time together, and Ayres is known to help other leftists who aren’t as skilled a writer as he is and find themselves struggling to finish their manuscripts. E.g., Rashid Khalidi *thanked* Ayres on the acknowledgments page of his (Khalidi’s) book.
Obama was not so gracious, however. In fact, this seems to bug Ayres a bit. See, Ayres is a narcissist, so it’s got to be hard for him to hold in such a secret. Imagine that: you do more than rewrite the book of a man who winds up president, and nobody knows.
The urge to tell must be absolutely vicious!
And you know, Brenda, I have a sneaking feeling that Bill Ayres won’t be able to hold his tongue forever. In fact, I think he’ll start wagging it right about when Obama’s licking his 1-term president’s wounds back in Chicago — probably lounging in the jacuzzi in that men’s club he and Rahm were known to frequent.
So don’t come here, Brenda, and imagine that you fool anyone. Your beloved Obama is a liar. Like he himself said, he’s an empty screen onto which people project their hopes for who he is.
Lastly, have you ever noticed that conservatives rarely if ever troll leftist websites, whereas leftist trolls are always popping up on conservative sites? Myself, I regularly visit a few conservative blogs that are my favorites, and over the years I have visited more than a few. I have interacted with lots of other readers at these sites, and none has ever said anything about leaving troll comments on leftist sites.
Know why?
Conservatives don’t care about lefty sites. We don’t feel any need to troll your sites to try to demoralize you, because you and your websites aren’t important to the debate. Besides being morally indefensible, intellectually shallow and dishonest, leftist philosophy is boring as hell.
That said, Brenda, I don’t mean to be so hard on you. My guess is you’re a college student, in which case your current politics are excusable — you’ll grow out of them one day, once you’ve grown up.
In any case, happy trolling!

There are, however, “life panels,” where bureaucrats decide who gets to live.

“And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values doesn’t make much sense.”For what it’s worth, the story Palin cited in her comments, the Oct. 3, 2008, New York Times piece, concluded after a review of Chicago Annenberg archives and interviews with a dozen people who know both men, that Obama “has played down his contacts with Mr. Ayers…But the two men do not appear to have been close. Palin clearly has a narcissistic personality disorder. She sees an opportunity to insert herself into a controversy and attempts to become the center of attention. She’s one of those people who is always looking for a reason to be owed an apology. But if anyone calls her out on her stupidity, it somehow means we’re scared of her! no one in this world is scared of stupid people!
- http://twitter.com/Super_Sachiko Jasmine Clark
what the heck. that makes NO SENSE. what exactly did she do in this interview to make herself center of attention? speak her mind on the issues? calling her that is absolutely ridiculous. she is FAR from NPD. she is often giving credit and promotion to others, and not promoting herself, even when something IS about her. example: a movie was made all about her and she spoke to an audience watching the movie and said it wasn’t about her, it was about her TEAM, when the movie was obviously all about her. another example: when she was blamed for the gabby giffords shooting, she made an 8-minute video… not to defend herself, but to talk about america. she almost didn’t mention herself at all. and i could add more examples too, it’s CRAZY when people say that she is narissistic, because she has done so much that is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE. people who call her that show that they know NOTHING about her. so kindly stfu.
- http://pulse.yahoo.com/_F2AASGJWPNMDYJWSKBSPYL4VM4 Cortney M
please get over yourself.
Certainly, Sarah Palin is entitled to her opinions; the question is why the media continues to indulge her narcissistic grandstanding. She’s done nothing to qualify as an expert on anything. That her frightfully simple-minded appraisals of everything are actually taken seriously offers damning insight into the spineless gullibility of a large swath of the American populace. Her constant need to be on TV proves my point. - Anonymous
Cortney (mispelled?) you need to get a clue, SP actually works for Fox so of course she is going to be on. She doesn’t call them up and say “oh me oh me…”. And she has certainly done more than Obama before he became prez.

Of course their hypocrisy knows no bounds.. Obama has ordered that no one is to call, let alone use the correct term, “Terrorists” or “Radical Islam”, about any arab islamic muslim extremist terrorist person, or organizational references, to with, in any written or verbal communications, but yet.. Obama, Biden, their staff, and Congressional liberal Obamacrats, yell, scream, and spew out hatred and venom, with these terms, against the Patriotic American People of this Nation.. Yes, to this, America must respond, and on 6 Nov. 2012. they will see just how much we, the Patriotic American People, think about about them.. and I suggest that they all start packing their bags, and make sure unemployment insurance extension bills are passed before they depart.. and I would say to them on the way out.. good bye.. and good riddins.. and don’t let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out..
Look, these Anti-American Liberal Socialist-Marxist radical fanatics and extremists, are sad, pathetic, and desperate parasites on all Free Democratic Societies, in the Western Free world.. and like Hitler, and the nazi’s, they use the same techniques and tactics, to control the people, to create anarchy, chaos, and heightened states of fear and emotion.. These people in the White House, Congress, the media and hollywood, are the Domestic Enemies of America and the US Constitution, and are determined to take down America, Americans, and the US Constitution.. by any means necessary.. plain and simple..

I’m curious to know where the myhtological people called ‘feminists’ are? Do they exist? I don’t think they really do, after what has been done to this woman. You’ve heard the term ‘atheist’, I’m a femisithiest, Sarah Palin getting attacked all the time where are they? If EVERY WOMAN MATTERS, why not Sarah Palin? You know good and well if they treated ROsie O’Donnel like Sarah there’d be blood in the streets. I willnever believe feimism exists. Nope. NO such thing. No woman wants to be equal anyway. They want to be ‘Superior to a man, they can do it better, you better treat us much better than men,’ never just like a man. A man gets beat up by a woman a judge will try to keep a straight face, a man beats a woman up he’s a monster, especially if she’s a liberal. Someone post pictures of ultra feminists at Wal-Mart, where did they go? Have they been kidnapped? Quick put their pictures on milk cartons.

zzzzzzz yet another baseless bashing of any conservative female
Sarah Palin says that she isn’t just going to roll over and say to the left “hit me baby one more time, call me a terrorist again, call me a racist”, but rather she’s going to call them out on their hypocrisy. That includes Obama, of course, who she said wouldn’t have a problem with the Tea Party if they were really domestic terrorists:
If we were really domestic terrorists, shoot, President Obama would be wanting to pal around with us wouldn’t he? I mean he didn’t have a problem with paling around with Bill Ayers back in the day when he kicked off his political career in Bill Ayers apartment, and shaking hands with Chavez and saying he doesn’t need any preconditions with meeting dictators or wanting to read US Miranda rights to alleged suspected foreign terrorists. No if we were real domestic terrorists I think President Obama wouldn’t have a problem with us.
That was awesome. But it got even better when she went after Romney for ducking this debt ceiling debate when it really mattered:
I want these candidates to not be sitting back. And bless his heart. I have respect for Mitt Romney but I do not have respect for what he has done through this debt increase debate. He waited until it was a done deal that we would increase the debt ceiling and more money would be spent and more money borrowed and then spent on bigger government. And then he came out and he made a statement that ‘oh he didn’t like the deal after all’. You know you can’t defer an issue and assume the problem is going to be, then, avoided… You need to get out there and you need to tell the electorate what you really feel about these issues
All of the above is part one. I’ll let you be surprised in part two:
