Pastor Beck: Get on your knees and turn to God!

Beck has decided to go with his gut and say things with a bit more candor than he has before. We have always known him to say that he will never say things he doesn’t believe, but he won’t say everything he does believe. Well, apparently this is one of those things he wouldn’t really say before:

Beck has talked this morning about changing his show, although he doesn’t know exactly what it is going to look like. If this is any indication, I have to think he will lose viewers, although I’m not sure that is the most important thing to him. I genuinely believe that Beck is sincere in what he is saying and believes it with all his heart. And I completely agree with him that faith in God is the answer, the only answer. This country has abandoned its desire for faith and we are seeing the consequences everyday.

That said, I know that this will turn people off and perhaps even anger people simply because Beck has always been more political than religious. Sure the faith component has always been there, but it appears going forward that it is going to be even more apart of his message than before.

I said yesterday that the most appealing thing to me about Beck was his ability to entertain while chasing down the truth. If he looses much of that entertainment side, it will probably affect how much of Beck I get on a regular basis. Even last week I didn’t really watch his show because, well, hearing his plans on solving the crisis does me little good practically. It’s the people in Washington that we put there that will solve the crisis if indeed that is in God’s plan. He has always been right on the money that it is really about values and honor, and that is certainly what we need to find in candidates. But I think people are very aware of that now. I’m not sure how he’ll change his show, but I hope he sticks with those things that have worked so well for him.
