If this man has read Luke Chapter 6 verses 27-36 then he would have never done this!

Well said John. Now he must face James 3:1

Ravi Z. has it right. We do not offend those we are trying to win, but we do not shy away from the truth either. Burning the Koran is needless incitement of those who do not need any more reason to feel antipathy towards “the infidels”. This just plays into their belief system.

Man, I love Ravi’s explanation! Just beautiful and Spot on!
- Cheryl~
RZ is exactly correct. Let the power of the Holy Spirit convict the hearts and minds of muslims. We are called to love not to incite-that is the hard part of the gospel!

I wonder if the people inside the temple were offended when Jesus drove them out with the whip and turned over tables? Or was Peter offended when Jesus spoke harshly to him and said, “Satan, get thee behind me!”? Just something to think about because Jesus was a lot more radical than today’s churches and watered down preachers paint him.
- Cheryl~
How many people do you know that were won over to Christianity through condemnation?
- http://twitter.com/PastorWayneSapp Wayne Sapp
We do not condemn anyone. We have never told anyone they have no hope of salvation. What we do is give them a chance for salvation by being bold to tell them and show them the truth. That there is no other way to salvation except through Jesus. Where the condemnation comes in is when you refuse to give them the truth because you are afraid to offend.

One can not always play defence all the time. certainly you have to stop running from a Beast and turn around and smack him in the mouth. I thought about the scripture you quote Wayne, Jesus turned the traders table and throw them out. I will remove a loaded gun from a child if they play with it and lock it away.
Folks, Jesus was the embodiment of love and kindness, faith and hope, with no single sign of weakness. This pastor have gut to burn a text book that teaches
ideas and doctrines that are counter productive to his belief.
There have been numerous jihadist that you don’t even have to give them a reason to get recruited. Most Muslim radical don’t need your help to get motivated. Training to hate and rid all infidels are a daily memory verse even begin from early age at school.
I shall forgive those who trespass against me for I do trespass against others sometime.I shall prevent the bully from stepping on my toe, I don’t like limping around.

Christians should give Islam the same respect that Islam gives Christians.

Yeah, because we’re just as bad as them, right?
- Cheryl~
That isn’t how the gospel works if you are a Christian!
- Carolyn
This pastor (and I can understand his feeling somewhat- but it’s gone too far) needs to learn Jesus’ command to do unto others. Do we like it when Muslims burn or desecrate our Holy Scriptures? No. Why in the world would this pastor or any other Christian sink to the level of those who do such things to Christian Scriptures or symbols? I agree as usual with Ravi Zacharias- we need to reach out and show them the Gospel, not give them cause for more “jihad”
- Anonymous
Simply being alive and breathing gives them cause for jihad.
- Carolyn
Believe me, I know that. I’ve been studying Islam for a long time now. I’m just trying to say that we’ve got to be better than that. Love our enemies- even though we’re called stupid and weak for that, in some cases it has softened some hearts and shown Christ. That’ll never happen if we all start burning q’urans and acting the way they do.
- TexasT
That is not Christ like! I will give him the benefit of the doubt, but true followers of Jesus know that is not what Jesus would have done. Since I make mistakes when I am angry too, then….but that is not Christ like.
- crosshr
NOooo, I will no would ever try to kill someone that do not believe what I believe. That is not Christ like.
I will throw their text book away or burn it or teach against it. This Quran burning minister here is not killing a human being here. - Thomas
Would anyone be upset or writing about this pastor had he burned a Holy Bible? I doubt it. So what’s the difference? The koran is a book as is the Bible. And muslims need no excuse to rage against Christians and non-believers. They plan on taking over the world and many countries are sitting back and letting that happen. Muslims don’t worry about what is/isn’t politically correct. They take drastic actions to achieve their objectives and to hell with everyone else. America had better wake up and take action before it’s too late.
- Adsf
You just can’t argue with moslems – they are controlled by Satan. Any action they do, they will take whatever excuse they can find to be offended. It’s like talking to a wall.
Yes Florida Pastor Terry Jones who came under fire last September for wanting to burn a Koran has finally done it and I filmed the whole thing. Thanks to our good friends at Verum Serum, we have the video:
This is what I wrote back in August:
I mean really, what will burning the Qur’an actually accomplish that’s good? NOTHING! And Rick [Sanchez] is right – it will send a message of hate that will accomplish as much as Fred Phelps accomplishes with his hateful spewages. (Yes I made that word up.)
It is one thing to speak truth with boldness; it is another to humiliate and willfully incite those you say you are trying to love. If you want to share the love of Jesus, stand up for truth and resist religious oppression and follow the example of Christ. I don’t remember [Jesus] having big bonfires where He burned the non-biblical texts of the day that he thought was oppressive.
In my mind, burning the Qur’an isn’t much better than the message that Fred Phelps promotes.
Ravi Zacharias was asked about this topic recently. Here’s is response:
