Pat Caddell gave a fantastic speech to Accuracy in Media on the media and how starting in the 1980s they stopped holding both sides to the same level of accountability. He focuses a fair amount on Benghazi-gate but also mentions a few other things including the media’s silence on David Plouffe receiving $100k from an Iranian front group for giving 2 speeches. Caddell totally nails it by saying that the media has now become a danger to America and an enemy of the people.

I sat here tonight listening to your blistering condemnation of the mainstream media ... and clapped heartily for your honesty and courage. There was no mistaking your sincerity and outrage. GOOD for you! GOOD for you!

9 days until Obama will be defeated and the Country can begin a recovery from the past 4 years. Nov. 6 cannot come soon enough.

Pat Caddell speaks the truth, pure and unadulterated, no BS.

I love this guy

In my estimation, a true American hero.

He has issued the Clarion call.

We need to wake up America and get involved before we lose all liberty and freedom.

This assault on our constitutional freedom is on our doorstep.

Finally , a man who sees the truth and has the intestinal fortitude to speak the truth, pure and unadulterated, no BS.

I love this guy. He is a true American Hero.

Pat Caddell has just issued the Clarion Call.

Wake up America before we lose all liberty with a slow insidious march to total

and complete loss of our liberties and freedom itself.

It is on our doorstep. Now is the time to get involved.

Bravo Pat! It's about time someone calls out the media for their "left-wing" bias and

their "slobbering love affair with Obama". Thanks for taking on the media. I pray Romney and Ryan do. If not, we're headed right down the road to socialism, if not worse. It's stunning that Americans haven't figured who the real Barak Obama is yet!

Just wow. This man knows where the bodies are buried.

During the Primaries, Newt was out there pushing this kind of thing, but we went with Mister Safe Guy. Middle of the Road. Not too hot, not too cold. And he's going to careful himself right out of an election.

I'm voting against Obama.

That's what I've been saying about the media. Took the words out of my mouth.

WOW! it's nice to actually hear a reasoned argument without the influence of some blind HOMER's bias for one party or the other!

Our nation's downward trajectory is a BIPARTISAN issue! BOTH sides are complicit in crimes against the Constitution and both should be held accountable to the American people!

"Look there is no doubt Romney is blowing an election he could not lose, and has done everything he can to lose it." -- Caddell

Finally! Someone with an unbiased brain speaks!

"Why isn't Romney saying..."

There's that language again....

"Thy don't do it, because this man (Obamney) dares to be cautious. He's going to dare to be cautious himself right out of a race that was his to lose and he's losing it."

Damn! I never heard such insight from anyone dealing with political journalism! The Republican party should of been taking these guys down years ago. The major news media is the propagandist arm of the Democrats. The Republican's accept it, buns up kneeling.

Allowing yourself to be screwed for your ideological beliefs is not in the best interests of the nation as a whole.

Its time to put up or shut up. Unfortunately I doubt the Republican's can do it.

November will be the real leveler of where this country will move.

Pat asks why Romney doesn't go on the attack - Why doesn't he stand up and say, "I'm running against two organizations. I'm running against the Democrats and the President and I'm running against the Main Stream Media, which will not tell you the truth."

Now, think about this for a minute. How does he get this message out there without getting it filtered by the very same media he's attacking? Should he use a bull-horn? That would sure reach millions! Should he go on FOX and preach to the choir? It might make conservatives feel good to hear Romney go on the attack for once but it won't win over new voters.

If Romney goes on the attack against the MSM for being biased and untruthful, stop and think about what the TV audience will hear. The filtered and twisted message from all the networks will be the following: "In what some say is a total act of desperation, Romney, today, blamed the media for his continued drop in the polls."

I understand why Pat Caddell is frustrated. I'm frustrated, too. But Pat is smart enough to know how the media will twist Romney's message even more if he attacks them directly. It would be like complaining to the refs during a game. It only turns them against you. There are millions of people out there who only get their news from the networks and talk shows. Nobody like a whiner. So the more Romney complains about the media, the more they'll portray him as a poor sport who whines and complains about the refs whenever he's behind. They'll also say he's trying to shoot the messenger instead of taking responsibility for his own gaffs. You wouldn't expect them to tell the truth, would you?

If the media is not going to report Romney's criticisms of Obama fairly, why would anyone expect them to report his attacks on them fairly? Romney can and should do more to point out specific instances where the media gets it wrong. But he really can't go on a general attack against the media directly without looking like a whiner. Let's face it, it's up to people like Pat Caddell and other pundits outside of the campaign to attack the media for their bias. Unfortunately, too many of them are more interested in joining the Democrats in attacking Romney than in helping him.

This is dead on..... Establishment republicans in Washington are a complete joke just look at John Andrew Boehner i think that sums it up... And democrats in Washington for many years now have been and still are socialists.... The main point that the 1st Amendment is being threatened by the press of the last 20 years and could destroy the 1st Amendment through government trying to fix it was dead on... As far as Romney he better lay of this "The president is a good guy" B.S because this man Barack Hussein Obama clearly is not "a good guy". I would never begin to think any man that is president and craps all over our Constitution is a good man what total nonsense.... The shame is to remove Barack Hussein Obama we must vote him out of office and the only way to do that is to vote for Romney but I would like a little help from Romney himself... As far as the people who will say Bush gave us the T.S.A - D.H.S etc. Yes they are unconstitutional but Bush did it though the congress and it was congress who wrote the unconstitutional law and created unconstitutional departments not Bush by fiat... So it's up to the American people to demand that congress repeal the laws and departments that are unconstitutional and we have a lot of work ahead of us... Americans must vote Romney or our republic dies and that's the bottom line......

So many holes in this I dont know where to begin. First, This guy has not been a dem since Jimmy Carter was his boss. Second,The republicans arent corrupt? Just the Bush family in business with the Bin Laden family, before and AFTER 9/11 deserves impeachment. Third The Holder Justice dept. is Political? I suppose Bush firing federal attorneys appointed by Clintonis not political? He is right about one thing, though. The Networks don't cover all the news. Have you ever seen a story about cancer causing chemicals in our food supply? Nope, because Archer Daniels Midland is a major advertiser on all three networks. Caddel doesn't mention that because ADM is a major contributor to Republicans and, of ,course sites like this.

Pat Caddell is representative of what Democrats used to believe and used to be about. They used to have a different view of the social safety net, and obligations of the government, etc. , but were NOT radicals. He is by far one of the bravest Democrats I have ever seen. And he hasn't abandoned his principles because of the radical element that invaded the party. (something that some so-called former Republicans should take heed of, the ones who tend to call themselves RP Libertarians--and for clarification: Ron Paul libertarian does not = mainstream libertarian)

Am I the only person here who saw the GOP debates earlier this year and recognizes that Mitt Romney was handpicked by the liberal MSM network that ran those debates? They deliberately and unabashedly refused some of the those other people time to air their opinions and cut off the mike if they had "too much to say or too much to explain."

As I see it, Mitt Romney owes his "nomination" totally and completely to CNN and secondarily to all the other MSM outlets who subsequently rolled the ball to the end zone, and got him to an entirely uncontested nomination at the convention. And Pat (who certainly must know better) questions Mitt Romney's mysteriously cool attitude toward the media? I don't. Not for a minute.

This is great! And it is about time someone like Pat Caddell a Democratic operative and political pundit. Has had enough on what his party has been doing. And what the Obama administration is not doing. Attacking rightly so the Republican establishment and their lack of courage on calling out the press and the links they (Press) have with the Democratic party. Is speaking the truth like no one has ever had. And here's my favorite founding father-Thomas Jefferson's quote in regards to the press that Pat Caddell open this great monologue with.

" No government ought to be without censors; and where the press is free no one ever will."- T. Jefferson

Sadly, this is no longer true today!

He is right...but I think that even if Republicans get mad, it won't help the situation. This kind of institutional bias is not going to be overcome that easily. Tom Brokaw was actually claiming that Romney gave Obama cover by making that statement he made when all that stuff started up on 9/11...they will never admit that Romney was right, even though he was.

It isn't dirty politics to push for the facts or to demand accountability from the president and his cabinet or that matter the media, which has shown it's disrespect for the freedom of the press to be accurate and un biased as possible. This media is an arm of the Obama propaganda machine and Romney would not be "dirty" to make this an issue along with Obama's incompetence and distortion.

Jaels_Song

Considering of where we are in America, I will consider it more than "stupid" on Romney's part. Because the consequences of an Obama reelection bear such serious consequences for America's survival, I will consider Romney unwillingness to fight darn near criminal negligence. Romney will go down in history as the inner circle Neville Chamberlain. Newt seems to be the only one who has the intestinal fortitude and wisdom to know how to take this media on. Maybe Romney should be doing be practicing debates with Newt too.

Chicago politicians are their own brand of criminal terrorism. Remember what they did to Leon Klinghoffer? Uhhh huuu...

This is the absolutely the BEST Expose' of the press I have ever listened to in my entire life. Mr. Caddell said what is long over due. There are times I feel that what you here from the main Stream Media is something that comes straight out of Iran or the former Soviet Union. You are fed what they want you to hear.....not what you NEED to hear. GOD help us. Something is indeed very wrong in this country. Everyday I feel our freedom just slipping away and very few seem to give a Damn.

Why do we accept these as our choices? Why does the wastefraudabuse go on unabated? Why is Medicare, medicaid, social security, broke, disfunctional, and a rift with wastefraudabuse? We accept this from the people we elected to represent us? OK I've been a "Bleacher American." I plead guilty, is it to late? The Dems need some actual Americans left in their party so they can rebuild it. We need Republican control of government right now, but I'm under no illusions about that being good for very long.

We need to get back to a status where the Dems and Repubs both hated Communism. For a start.

TheFop
TheFop

This is an ongoing problem, and it's not right for Pat to pin it all on Romney.

The Republicans have not adapted to the fact that A) the media is more blatantly biased than it ever was, and B) a lot of older people who were more socially Conservative, have died off over the past 30 years, and have been replaced by young people who have been indoctrinated by our Left wing educational system, which has emboldened the media to promote ideas (like gay marriage) that would have never gone over with people who were born in the early 1900's and are now no longer with us.

So while not whining about media bias made sense back in the days when the GOP were winning lots of elections (20 out of 24 years between 1968 and 1992), this passive "above the fray" approach does not work anymore.

I think the GOP is going through a phase that is similar to when the Jews spent forty years in the desert after being freed from slavery in Egypt, in order to let the older generation die out and new generation grow up in freedom, before entering the promised land. There are some young Tea Party Republicans, like Allen West and Chris Christie, who are not afraid to speak their minds. The Tea Party is here to stay, and more Tea Party candidates will be running for office in the coming years. I'm optimistic that these Tea Party candidates will be more confrontational with the media. We're just not there yet.

Agreed! Romney is fighting 2 opponents and would come off like BO's incessant whining if he would start calling out the press. Who here thinks if Mitt started calling the msm out that they would man up and straighten up? .................Crickets!

Thanks Scoop, to bad this is on every TV channel. My respect for Pat Caddell continues to grow.

There is nothing I would like to have more in politics than a tough decision to choose a representative from dems or gop that holds America's interest above party or their self.

And by that I don't mean for the gop to move more toward the democrats.

JohnBarry2012

It is interesting that Pat Caddell pointed out that GOP was somewhat complicit with the "journorlist" mainstream media (including some political pundits from Foxnews) to destroy their own. McCain's campaign team litterally throwed VP candidate Sarah Palin to the pit of CNN and ABCnews (Katie Curric and Charlie Gibson) and some pundits from the right joining the chorus.

Romney's chief campaign strategist, the "mad-genius" Stuart Steven, the old-school campaign chief from Bush dynasty, obviously is of the same mindset with his ultra-cautious approach not to offend the media with the hope they'll be treated with due respect. Oh boy, they were in a shock of a lifetime as they found out the concerted effort of the new "journorlist" media were all out to destroy them. The campaign team failed to aggresively call them out, challenge them to refute the false allegations, yet they simply let the false narrative defined them. From the old establishment GOP mindset, Mitt campaign also sent out the wrong signals and messages which alienated Tea Party conservative grassroot base.

In the debates Romney must call out Pres.Obama and the media.

It is intolerable that the MSM has decided that they will pick the president for us.

I hate their Obi-wan tactics. "Nothing to see here, nothing to know here, move

along silly stupid little non-elite people.". We must defeat Obama and the MSM.

JDOlson

Caddell is correct when he says Romney must fight the Obama campaign and the media. He leaves out the third enemy: The Romney-bashing conservative press which he himself has joined. Oh look, we're having an orgy of shooting off our own self-important mouths and now we see Romney not doing as well as he "should". Ann Romney was right: Step up and do this if you know so much better.

NoToTyrants
NoToTyrants

Caddell is absolutely on target. It is the Press that got Obama elected in 2008. It is the Press, including Fox News, in conjunction with the establishment, that chose the Republican nominee that would face Obama in 2012.

It is the Press that now protects Obama. And by extension, they are complicit in the deliberate destruction of the Constitution that protects the Press. Complicit in arming murderous narco-terrorists in Mexico. Complicit in voter fraud. Complicit in the Federal Governments violation of free speech rights of a film maker. Complicit in empowering the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists in the Arab world and here at home. Complicit in the destruction of our economy including the devaluing of our currency. I could go on and on and on.

The fact is, the Press are aware of all the evil Obama and the Democrats are committing. They aren't just feckless bias Obama toadies, they are co-conspirators against we the people.
