Why the Democrats resort to peddling nonsense like this as they attempt to make a case for extending unemployment benefits for the umpteenth time is beyond me. It seems so unnecessary.
They could just say “millions of unemployed Americans need this help” or whatever. I bet that by itself would resonate with most people in this miserable economy, regardless of the macroeconomic justification (or lack thereof) for extending the benefits yet again.
Instead, they pull numbers like this out of thin air and insult everyone’s intelligence by insisting that unemployment benefits also create jobs.

So that means there must be other “experts” out there besides Paul Krugman flushing their credibility down the toilet on this absurdity. I wonder what their names are.
