This is the absurdity of Democrats right now, that they are denying something that is as obvious as the nose on your face. And it is laughable:

1. It is a tax, OR 2. It is UNconstitutional. WHICH IS IT? (That is the only line Republicans need to use!)

If the answer is 1. It is a tax, well then, it is a tax on WHAT?

If Obamacare is in essence a tax, does that mean that The Catholic Church and all tax exempt groups are immune from Obamacare?

Their 1% number is also bullcrap.

We know millions will be dropped from their employer based health insurance. We aren't all going to be able to afford the entire cost of an insurance policy, and most of us won't qualify for medicaid (and I don't want to).

The new group of uninsured is going to be a lot freaking larger than it was before Obamacare.

Edit: By the way, who the hell is she to call the so-called 1% freeloaders? I've had insurance for 27 years you stupid whore!! I will lose it because of you communist low-lifes! Even if I don't have insurance if I have to go to the doctor you can be damned sure I will pay the bill out of my own pocket.

Nancy Pelosi, the leader of the democrats in the House of Representatives, has been mentally challenged for several years. With Harry Reid, her counterpart in the Senate, it is easily understood why we are on the verge economic disaster with the Federal deficit. Sad as it sounds, the right has to deal with RINOs who are just as bad. This cannot be fixed overnight. Not anything we can do about the democrats as they have ceased to exist for years, but eliminating one RINO at a time is a damn good start.

When is a tax not a tax? When Pelosi say so.

When is Pelosi lying? When her lips move!

Has anyone seen the new public service ad "Addicted to Denial" which shows a mom refusing to see that her son is stealing prescription drugs from her medicine cabinet even though she actually walks in on her son counting the pills?

The RNC needs to do a Pelosi version of "Addicted to Denial." Actually, the entire LEFT is addicted to denial, come to think of it!

Pelosi is:

a. Delusional

b. A liar

c. A delusional liar

d. Typical liberal - totally out of touch with reality and wouldn't acknowledge the truth under any circumstance.

And that's why Obama has hired 15,000 new IRS agents, because as we know, the IRS has nothing to do with collecting taxes. Nancy's late for her insanity hearing.

A tax by any other name is still a tax....

How in the world does she continue to get voted into office?? I mean the people out there don't even have a better liberal who at least has some common sense (if they exist) and isn't as retarded as she is to primary her out? I'm not asking for a conservative candidate out of her district, although that would be nice, but just someone else. Perhaps they vote to keep her in washington so she stays out of there area. Unreal....

Guess she doesn't get that penalty sounds just as bad or worse than taxes.

Ah yes, the old liberal Democratic standard operating procedure of dodging and evading the issue, aka the truth, as so captured and stated with such clarity by Impeached President Bill Clinton, quote- "It depends upon what the meaning of the word 'is' is..

Can Nancy Pelosi be any more of liberal hack and now of course without saying -a dingbat as Gov Palin so eloquently put her into context and terms.. Between Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, it's hard to tell who is in the most delusional state of idiocy..

Is it no wonder why the Nation is in such dire straights, look whose running and ruining the country into the ground..

lol...good Lord. How about doing something about the 50% free riders on the welfare system first who pay no income tax.

kong1967
kong1967

You'll never hear the libs call them freeloaders. Those are upstanding citizens because the vote for Democrats. The rich don't pay their fair share so evidently the bottom 50% add up a lot of zeros to account for most of the tax base.

0 + 0 + 0 + 0.......... + 0 = 95% of all tax revenues (liberal math)

liberals are a combination of retards and communists.

Sandra123456

The Democrats are changing the subject. You are required to buy health insurance whether you want it or not. That's the "tax" we are speaking of, the government forcing you to buy something.

Whenever confronted with this the Dems start their shuck and jive about people not buying health care insurance with be penalized.

Yazz55
Yazz55

from the perspective of a CPA tax professional...

using penalties to raise revenue is just simply bad tax policy

the purpose of penalties is to deter tax evasion, not to raise revenue

badnewzbearz
badnewzbearz

The Democrats are amazing how quickly they assemble their talking points. Lew, the WH Chief of Staff, was saying the same thing on Fox News Sunday - that only 1% of the people would choose not to buy insurance and would be affected by this new "tax." However, the way it has worked in Massachusetts, far more than 1% have decided to pay the tax or penalty instead of buy insurance, since it is cheaper. Then, if they ever need insurance, they get it since they can't be denied for pre-existing conditions. The result significantly drives up the cost of health care.

The Roberts decision vastly increases the taxing power of Congress by essentially creating a new tax - a tax on inactivity. In other words, you either do (a)_______, or pay a tax. There's no limit as to what can be plugged into (a). That's the problem. We are witnessing the destruction of our Constitution and the limits it places on government power over the individual.

Rshill7

No, we are not. The Roberts court just made it much much more difficult to pass extra-constitutional laws/mandates etc. in the future. You don't know what you are talking about.

Go ahead and stone who so many others are stoning. And may the same happen to you some day.

Anyone who doesn't realize Pelosi is mentally challenged should never be able to vote. Having dinosaurs like Reid and Pelosi as leaders, what does that say about the democratic party? They don't have a clue.

Watching this video, two thoughts came to mind. One, thank you Scoop, for giving us only 31 seconds of Pelosi. And two, she is and always will be a dingbat. Of that, I'm sure everyone on this thread will agree.

After reading all 89 comments (so far) on this thread, I see very few, if any, liberals commenting. So, it makes me sad that both sides of this argument are coming from conservatives who all want Obama repealed in November. We are eating our own, folks.

Roberts, whether you like his decision or not, has given us an opportunity. I, for one, dislike his ruling. But there is no appeals process to the Supreme Court. We use what is given to us and make lemonade out of lemons. This November is going to be interesting for several reasons.

Roberts called the penalty a tax (I disagree. I think it is not a tax. But he ruled it was). We can use this in the campaign against both Obamacare and Obama. Democrats, like Pelosi, are adamant in declaring it is not a tax. Why? Because it will hurt them in November if they admit it is a tax. Use this.

Roberts basically sent Obamacare back to the Congress. The Origination clause states that taxes originate in the House. Not bills that weren't taxes and then were changed to taxes, without ever going back to the House for redress. Congress should vote on this to get the Democrats to either vote against it or run on tax increases in November. Either way, they lose.

Roberts not only ruled in our favor on the Commerce clause and the States right to opt out. He also stated a very important point, without ever saying it. We cannot depend on the Supreme Court (nine people, of which at any given time there are 4 on one side and 4 on the other with a possible swing vote) to save us from ourselves. We are the ones that elect our officials and we are the ones responsible for either keeping them or getting rid of them. We can't cry when it goes all the way to the Supremes and then one man decides the fate of a nation. This happens way too often in the ninth circuit, but at least there it gets appealled.

What I'm trying to say in 1000 words that I should have been able to say in 50 is that what is done is done. God gives us the ability to choose (free will). Let's see if we can use that ability for a good cause and get Obamacare fixed the way it should have been, as well as kicking Obama to the curb in the process.

toongoon
toongoon

Absolutely! We are arguing with each other over something that is done and we cannot do anything about. We can all agree that we still have the opportunity to drive a stake through the heart of obamatax once and for all. Roberts gave us that opportunity. Rather than focus on Roberts, let's put our attention to getting rid of the evil.

Roberts is not the evil.
