Pelosi: Republicans want to destroy everything

This morning Pelosi told a group of reporters that Republicans want to destroy the public space, otherwise known as the government:

We just passed a bill, 1.2 trillion dollars in cuts. If it were about reducing the deficit, the statement has been made about seriousness to do that. This isn’t about that. This is about destroying – it isn’t about reducing the deficit, it’s about destroying the public space. It’s about destroying public…federal involvement in education. It’s about clean air, clean water, food safety, public safety. You name it, they’re there to diminish it, destroy it.

It’s always been like this since I’ve been paying attention, that Democrats are always charging that Republicans want anarchy or something. But we do want government. We do want regulations. We just want them to be smaller and smarter. We believe in liberty, that is a man’s choice to generally do with his life as he sees fit as long as he doesn’t harm others. He can be lazy and starve or he can work hard and make a life for himself. Of course there are always those who need help and we want the government to fill that void. But as I remember Mark Levin saying a couple of years ago, if we only helped the people who actually needed help, government spending wouldn’t be a problem.

So when I hear Pelosi heat up the hateful rhetoric like this, it just reminds me of how intellectually dishonest they are because they don’t have an honest argument in their corner. On the other hand, if Pelosi and the Democrats were really honest about their plans for America, they wouldn’t need to have an honest argument because they wouldn’t be in power at all.
