If there was an armed guard in the lobby, the shooter could have been put down in 2 seconds ( i am talking about the CT shooting). This Liberal lady is knocking guns because libs feel they don't need them so why should any body else have them???!!!
My wife works part time in a school district and she tells me school security is different in every school.....WHY?...In the inner schools they have metal detectors and guards, why not in suburbia too?...There are plenty of retired cops and other retired oldsters who would love to work part time...and can get a carry permit....I am not blodd thirsty...I can't even hunt animals... but if I saw some crazy draw a gun and point it at a child I would have no problem eliminating the threat.,.. We must have zero tolerance for this kind of behavior but don;t blame honest gun owners.....we should be blaming the mother who let the gone be available to her sicko son...did she never hear of gun locks and gun safes?
First of all you can't be borderline Autistic. These people are idiots and they should NEVER be allowed to report anything. They have no idea what journalism is and are making an entire sector of our population, who are vulnerable to begin with, the target of crazies. Autism does not make one violent! Last I heard (and I'm not really following the biased coverage) is that the rifle wasn't even used. Or at least, there was question. Also, with two handguns, its very likely he could have and did, slaughter that many people.

It sounds like they should have done their homework on guns, but due to the fact they're liberals, that should be taken into account. Most liberals I know, are smarter than these ladies and show disrespect for themselves, let alone their audience and knowledgeable guests, like Mr. Gillette. I won't comment on their physical attractiveness--or lack thereof, but I would suggest these people invite more intelligent and knowledgeable guests to educate, not dumb down their audience. Mr. Gillette may not be an expert on the subject, but he at least does not degrade and talk the usual gibberish of fools, as these ladies clearly demonstrate.
I wonder if Wendy's TV ratings are any better than "The View"? Given the hostess' and the collective "wisdom" and I.Q of her female guests, I'd be willing to bet, are not very high.I guess you'd have to be a liberal to understand their gibberish, let alone give it any credibility. I''d like to see Penn Gillette on the "Factor or "The Five", with some of the most intelligent hostesses, like Kimberly Guilfoyle and Michelle Malkin. Fortunately, these ladies do their homework and are pretty educated in their own right. They're also eye candy for male viewers. Maybe that's sexist, but good looks and intelligence are an aphrodisiac for men as well. Good figures and good I.Q. "figures" make for successful TV programming. Looks like these ladies better hit the books and hire a personal trainer and an appointment for a makeover---fast!

It is amazing the number of people who will get on TV and give an opinion not based on knowledge, but based on ignorance with little regard for the fear they are spreading due to their intellectual laziness. They don't even know enough to be embarrassed by their behavior. If we ban anything it should be ignorance first.

Their statements about guns - can be easily made into machine guns; if he had a handgun he'd only be able to kill two - prove that they have absolutely no idea what they're talking about but are simply regurgitating liberal talking points that someone else who doesn't know what they're talking about made up.

Because school shootings are less common makes them no less important. While car accidents and pool drownings are most of the time tragic accidents and unavoidable, school shootings aren't accidents and are avoidable. The statement Jillette made is not sound reasoning in my view.
That being said, we can make the entire school bulletproof but it will not fix the problem. I have no children but I have a 15 year old friend who I have known since she was 4. I would be devastated if she was a victim or even present during one of these shooting sprees. The survivors experience TSD, traumatic stress disorder and they don't just get over it. It can take years-it can endure for the rest of one's life. Sufferers experience fear of things such as being far from home alone and having misplaced distrust of people in general. It's a prison basically.
I believe the problem stems from a society that has allowed people to avert personal responsibility and accountability for their actions. The fault lies w parents who do not teach their kids right from wrong, the government, local, state and federal who pass laws. The fault lies w the progressive groups who push and protest for leniency when people like this shooter should have been institutionalized a long time ago without the need for parental permission.

I recall news reports quoting police on the scene that the AR-15 belonging to Lanza's mother was found still locked in the trunk of his car. The only weapons found in the school were two 9mm handguns.
How is it that now the media insists the students were all killed with that unfired assault weapon?
A single shot, semi-automatic weapon is NOT and assault weapon! I would never want to go into a combat situation with that rifle, you'd get killed. An assault weapon is a much different thing. Why are we letting the LIBS redefine words???

IF we exchange bullets for words, and guns for people speaking those words then we have just witnessed machine guns being fired blindly into a crowded room. Penn in this case is the protector, guard, police, trying to save us from the crazy people (guns) shooting (words) everyone with blanket fire.
Is this what schooling has taught our citizenry. That all opinions are valid even if they lack actual facts and that speaking ones lack of knowledge is valuable or helpful. Penn constantly corrects these uniformed agenda pushing parasites, yet they continued to reload and shoot.
Penn is an extremely intelligent and conscientious speaker. He brings reality where others live in fantasy. Penn should have this talk show, then just maybe some of the folks displaying their ignorance here would learn something that contributes to a free society.

A friend of mine lost his double barrel shotgun when Australia banded semi-automatic weapons. Seems that being able to fire both barrels rapidly at a flying goose was way too dangerous for them. This crowd of idiots has consistently misconstrued the meaning of semi-automatic. The Latin root means "like unto". Semi-automatic mode is typically a setting on a military weapon to fire 3 round bursts. All this is simply scare talk. The second amendment, according to history, was to serve as a means of preventing a strong central government from imposing it's will on the different States. Now Obama is calling for a national force equal to the military. Knowing 20th century German history, I was astounded that he called for the equivalent of the Brown Shirts here in America. Given his skill at propaganda, Obama may indeed transform America.
Americans will not go gently into the good night like the Jews did in Germany and other European countries. We learn from history and are determined not to repeat it.
The kid acted out in a way of things he had learned in entirety over his life. Violence is all around us, always has been, and always will be. There are copy cat shooters, but it's not the fault of the news media for reporting the stories. People that are over the edge will act out no matter what. Maybe the kid got the idea to do a school shooting because he has seen multiple mass shootings on the news over the years (and it gets attention), but he's the one with the problem. Those things did not CAUSE his insanity. We can't shut down society because a rare nutcase takes ideas from his surroundings and uses them to his advantage.
If we did, we'd have to ban cars, knives, swimming pools, belts (used to hang people), scissors, swords, airplanes, and bla bla bla. None of these things CAUSE someone to be a crazy nut job, but all of them are (or have been) used to kill people.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Virginia Tech shooter kill 32 people armed with only those handguns that Lapin was talking about? If all you want to do is kill a lot of people fast in a confined area, semi-automatic handguns are just as deadly as semi-automatic rifles, and the Virginia Tech shooter proved that. So what's Lapin's point, take all guns away from everybody? And I can't stand it when moronic crowds who know even less than this woman blindly applaud this type of stupidity just to seem politically correct. More kids die needlessly each year in auto accidents than by guns, any guns. Maybe if the left stopped dishing out all this propaganda more Americans would listen to them. But as long as they keep spouting out emotional lies, then they will be tuned out by most Americans, especially gun owners.

By the way, it is not that easy to convert a semi-automatic rifle into a fully automatic rifle. It takes special accessories and machinery to do the conversion. I mean, one could use hand tools, but that person had better have a lot of time on his or her hands because the task will be difficult. Then you have existing firearms laws to deal with. One cannot possess a fully automatic weapon manufactured after 1986 and if one does have a fully automatic weapon, he or she must register that weapon and go through background checks with the FBI and BATFE. If he or she wants a license to carry the weapon, he or she must get written permission from either the Chief of Police or county Sheriff. Paying for the license is the cheapest part of owning a fully automatic weapon. A fully automatic weapon will cost $10K or higher (usually higher). Of course, if you're a criminal, background checks, licenses, and laws don't matter.
