Questions for Glenn?

If you had the opportunity to ask Glenn one question, what would it be? This isn’t just a thought exercise, btw.

Just post your questions in the comments. It can be personal or political. They may be used for real, and I’ll do a followup post later so you can see if they were used.

Question for Glenn Beck: Since the country seems to be sharply and almost evenly divided on so many issues, do you think that the United States should divide into two nations based on these ideological divisions?

  • libertarianwoman

Glenn can you tell us what was your pivot point? Hope that's not too personal.

  • MoonbatKiller

Glen, why aren't you trying to find out more about Obama's hidden documents he's hidden away? college transcripts, passports, gee i dont know… birth certificates..??

  • jaxcoffee

I truly appreciate the kind of research and fact finding that Glenn and his staff do for the Glenn Beck Show. My question, and it's one out of a real heart concern for Glenn and his family, is why haven't we heard of Glenn doing the same kind of fact finding and truth research about the church organization he attends?

Now I know some will slam me for asking this. Even Glenn himself has mocked those that do. But I believe that what we believe effects all that we are. So if they can be so right on the history and politics of what is happening in our world today, how is it that one could be so far off in what they believe spiritually? Sorry I guess that is two questions. Pick one!!

  • http://punditpawn.wordpress.com PunditPawn

Yes, and Conservatives will keep the money and guns and the liberals get to have Pelosi and Reid and a lot of open borders.

Glenn, How come people don't understand that Bush's absolute worst deficit projection was under $200 billion (the last time Republicans controlled the budget), yet Obama's best projection is $1.4 Trillion? Bush was no saint, but this media treason is apocalyptic.

  • jasper1321

Is his religion killing people. Nope.
Can you PROVE his religion is wrong or that yours is right? I said prove.
Religion is based on faith. what if your the one that is wrong?

I personally think that if your religion makes you do good things (not blow up people and such) then you have covered your bases for any version of god that is out there.

  • williamm

Glenn, How do you deal with people that question your religious preference and think their religious preference is the only key to heaven?

  • jasper1321

    1. DEfunding of our military (on EVERY level, from materials to training, from base closings to operations budgets)

    2. Moving funds from S.S. and Medicare NO TOUCH accounts… to 'quietly' “find” funding for his own pet programs

…there is MUCH more (under the table theft and shuffling of monies from one program to another, with no ~FALSE~ reporting of the depletion and devaluation of the robbed accounts/programs).

  • jaxcoffee

My point isn't to prove anything to you or anyone else. It's to ask Glenn, and for him to answer.

  • Michael_rhea

We can't divide into two separate Nations. The Liberals need our money to survive.

  • jasper1321

So your question of “How can you be so wrong on religion” does not not have to have you prove that your religion is right? Seems pretty elitist to me.

He already has answered your question. You might not like the answer because it does not fit into your nice little box but it has been asked and answered. His faith helps him in his life and he hopes yours does the same.

  • http://thoreauhd.myid.net/ Thoreau

I have a question for him. I'd like him to explain his logic.

How are 911 “truther's” crazy/wrong because there is no evidence to support such a claim, and yet Obama “birther's” are wrong because there is no evidence to support his claim of US birth- as is required by the US Constitution.

The question above has bothered me for awhile now. I would like him to explain how a lack of evidence is evidence that there is evidence. He does so well until he gets to the documentation of his actual birth place- and his actual MD- and his actual nurse on duty- and the actual long form BC. Just, Glenn, please use your brain and think this through without pissing yourself for once.

Glenn, do you think that current copyright laws are too strict? (e.g. YouTube may remove music and movies that are several decades old from its website if a company complains about a violation.)

  • Daryleschroeder

GLENN, IF YOU COULD CHANGE JUST ONE THING IN AMERICA, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

  • jaxcoffee

Re-read please. I ask about the organization, not his personal faith. Even though the teaching one sits under does form ones faith and belief. Via Rev Wright.

Do a search on “Sound Doctrine” you might learn something. And please, quit making this personal, and about me. It's a legitimate question I asked Glenn, not you. If you have a question, post it, and get on with it. OK?

  • KeninMontana

There are many I would like to ask Glenn. I'll go with this one. What would you consider America's greatest and darkest moments?

  • Megan

I feel like we need to push a reset button to get back to the Constitution. Is there a way to do this? The regulations, tax code, entitlement program and other forms of spending, and poorly ruled court cases (let's get back to the Constitution not precedence) have all become endless-I wish we could get rid of it all! Can someone really do it-is it really fixable?

  • leel004

Seems like jasper is not quite fair in his replies to jaxcoffee's original post.
Glenn studies with a passion for truth. Many religions exists. One original faith was formed after the crucifixion of Christ, and basically followed for over 1000 years before major divisions occurred with such strikngly different theologies. Not all can claim total truth. Some truths here, and some there in a multiple of faiths. It is a fair inquiry.
At the same time, Glenn needs some stable platform as the storm gathers, so this is probably not the appropriate time to research this answer, although it may be the most important one.

  • leel004

Glenn, not so much a question at the moment, but more of a joke from my 11 year old (my sons and I pray for Glenn and staff to continue to do what they do…educate with humor…for their safety, and that hearts and minds of Americans be open to God's way and change the demonic path we are on. BUT>>>>the Joke……

What does fund-raising have to do with winning an election and being able to run for Congress?

I am sure that signs need to be purchased and commercials paid for, but I believe that being able to raise 20 million dollars is the reason we do not have any decent people in Washington. No legitimate person would be involved in that.

  • Athf_bum

My question for Glenn: As the impacts of the government removing responsibilities from the people become more and more clear, what do you think would be the best method for shifting responsibilities back to the people? Any move to do so would certainly be met by hostility from those accustomed to receiving handouts. I don't mean strictly monetary handouts, but handouts as services too. People receiving the “helping hand” of the government have become too lazy and too dependent upon the government. If you look at communities that are still ravaged by poverty and crime, you see that it only gets worse as the government lifts responsibility from people.

To restore ourselves to prosperity and dignity we as adult citizens must assume responsibility for ourselves. We know ourselves and that makes ourselves the most capable of taking care of ourselves. Some bureaucrat in Washington isn't going to know what's best for a person taking care of their family.

So Glenn, I'd like to know your thoughts on restoring responsibility.

  • Sandymoody

Glenn, what do you think the perfect job in the Republican party for Sarah Palin is? Could it be a government waste czar?

  • jasper1321

Im not sure how I was not being fair unless you think that everybody is wrong except for you just because you say so. Is religion not based on faith? Can you prove that your version of your religion is correct? I have no problem with your religion or Glenn's, and i am neither of them but i do have a problem with people that have (what i see as ) a “You need to think just like i do” complex trying to convert everybody over to their way of thinking. The Mormons do show up at my door from time to time to tell me about their religion and then leave when I say no thank you. I have never had one tell me that I am totally wrong in my beliefs though and am going to hell like the evangelicals do. I also have never seen a Mormon come on this blog that has and tell everyone that “they are a smart man but how could you be so dumb to be a christian?”

If you would like to follow your logic (The original religion) then Christianity is not it. The original modern religion would be Judaism but the emphasis is on modern religion. The original religions would be the ones that prayed to the sun god and to the god of the harvest that the neanderthals drew pictures of on the cave walls.

Religion is a good thing until it is used as class structure.

“But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no god. It neither picks my pocket, nor breaks my leg.” – Thomas Jefferson

    —-*edit snip*—-

This will be my last post on the subject. I have realized that I am being intolerant of peoples intolerance. I do think that you all have (or should have) the same goal of Personal salvation but if you would like to make it about others then that is up to you.

  • Jaynie59

Who is your favorite Founding Father? (you only get one pick)

  • Leel004

because the topic was about Glenn….I will stay on that theme. He does not talk about sun gods and such. He talks about God and Jesus, and getting on our knees in prayer to the Creator for guidance. He believes that the country was founded on the God who is the God of the Jews, and Christianity is the faith after the death of Jesus the Jew. So the original stance is the same as Jaxcoffee's inquiry.
Why you got on the soapbox in the first place was silly.

How can we “fix” what's wrong with this Nation, without turning away from Fiat Currency / Federal Reserve system and reinstating Constitutional Money — specifically, Gold and Silver — as defined in the Constitution (Article 1, Section 8; and Article 1, Section 10) in conjuction with the Coinage Act of 1792? Is it not true that instead of the Govt being reliant on the People for tax revenues in order to function, Govt now issues “money” into existence with the stroke of a pen, while creating a system in which the People are now reliant upon Govt for their well-being?

  • sodizzy

Are you aware of Rand Paul's extremely liberal sidekick? very leftist pal who helps him with his campaigns. Sorry I don't have the name. This was documented on video somewhere. Some dude from Berkeley, I believe, and if so would you still be such a strong supporter of Mr. Paul?

  • sodizzy

    To all,

Mormons like to tell me they are Christians, too. OK. They believe in Jesus, but we do have a different take on various important issues, who Christ is, the god quality of him, and the resurrection, the blood, what all this means. However, I believe we should Quibble not, unless it is for the purpose of witnessing, i.e., discussion welcomed by the hearer, G. Beck in this case, and Mr. Beck's discussion is about our jointly shared Freedom and the future plight of our beloved country.

I suggest we leave him alone about his personal religious beliefs and get on with the important questions he is open to addressing and is so righteously talented at bringing to the fore, namely questions about our country's history and its future.

There is great unity in agreement. We can split hairs later. Let's get on with the job of saving our country from destruction.

  • sodizzy

I suggest you read the Bible. You might find it interesting and informative. Try different versions.

  • Grampafrogger

Is that the best you can do? You know, there are lots of sites like this one on the net, all of them trying to bring the church down. But then this has been going on since the LDS church began, none of them have succeeded thus far.

  • washington828

Glenn, you look great in glasses! My one question – What is the one thing that you have found out about YOURSELF this past year that surprised or shocked you? Its open for a many wisecracks I am sure but I am asking this as a serious question. :)

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/PMLT5XN3DODARW4HIWZCBBS5YA Mickey

I can but I doubt this is the right forum for it.And no one is trying to bring down anyones church or temple as the case maybe.Just bring people back to the true teachings of Jesus and not the false prophets.

“Beware of false prophets who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew 7:15)

“there will rise up false Christs and false prophets and they shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce even the elect” (Mark 13:22)

  • Grampafrogger

Your slick, but not slick enough, ” And no one is trying to bring down anyones church or temple as the case maybe. ” then you do just that “Just bring people back to the true teachings of Jesus and not the false prophets.”
It's interesting that you quote from the NT, is that your sly way of infering that since the Mormans have a Prophet at the head of the Church, they. are led by someone who is false. You did say that “no one ( meaning you ) is trying to bring down etc, etc” Slick, but not slick enough.

  • Wamarqua

Question: My question for glenn, is that whenever you mention faith, and prayer, when are you going to be more bold, because it seems like you say that whenever americans have to pray you say that americans should call out to their God, but their is only God, and that is the God of the bible, not buddha muhammed, or joseph smith. We cant be a respecter of men, but we have to obey and serve God. No change in america can happen without christ. i dont want to get into this more, because i can easily destroy all arguments that do not stem from Christ the logos, but anyway i would like Glenn to be more bold i guess that is what i am asking of Glenn

  • Poptoy

Sometime back Forbes wrote an article about you and your show. In the article they quoted you saying something about you were only interested in making money and your show was an act or something to that effect. Can you come clean about this? I do not think Forbes would tell a fib. Thank you.

  • Tyler

I saw someone else ask this question, but I'm going to word it a lot more directly and explain why I'm asking this before I ask it.

When you did your interview with Eric Massa, he talked about changing campaign financing as in doing something about the lobbyist influence in government. I understand that your point was to show that he was clearly lying about supposedly having nothing left to hide, but you dismissed a perfectly valid point from someone who knows because he's been there.

Why do you not rally against the practice of lobbying which would allow the individual more access to elect people who will represent them instead of representing the highest bidder?

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/PMLT5XN3DODARW4HIWZCBBS5YA Mickey

I can only be as slick as the words and truth of Jesus and his Apostles allow me to be.And I can only pray thats yours is not a faith built on false prophets and revelation. But as your chruch's president is believed to be a “Prophet, Seer, Revelator” I'm not sure how this is possible.Oh and should i quote NT,OT,BoM,or the Koran.Or maybe Paine..”I believe in one God, and no more; and I hope for happiness beyond this life. I believe in the equality of man; and I believe that religious duties consist in doing justice, loving mercy, and endeavouring to make our fellow-creatures happy.”

  • fadden921

Every religion has flaws. They are run by man. What matters most are the their principles and who they make you as a human being.

Before Glenn joined the Mormon religion he has stated that he was a bad father and an unhappy, miserable person. Since joining the faith he says that he is a better father/husband and a happier person living a full life. And that's what matters most. Not what religion he belongs to.

It matters when the religion is based on falsehoods, denied blacks the priesthood until the Federal Government was going to strip it of it tax exempt status, when the religion was in violation of Federal polygamy laws, and has massarced follow American citizens it does matter.Just a little. And do we have to mention Ezra Taft Benson whom Beck has quoted from before?

  • That person

I pray to the god of Kolob he doesn't.

You can't prove God exists either. He just does. And to correct you the fact of the matter is there IS a birth certificate, so there IS evidence that he was born here. And I by no means support Barack “insane” Obama.

Also, how is a question without a question mark? Besides questions are meant to question, and to question such questions is just questionable.

hi Mr, Beck, my name is Nick Urgero, i'm seventeen years old and i have been a fan of yours since I first saw you on Fox. I have always tried to be on the couch at 4 P.M. to watch your program. O'reily used to be my favorite until I realized how little he truly believes in what you have to say. I recently got my brother Matt to start to watch you and he is now a huge fan. But for over a year I have tried to have my other brother Mark watch at least your show and not be so ignorant and just watch sports. His only reply is that he thinks its a waste of stress, since he believes he cannot make a difference, my sister has said the same thing. My question is :how should i start a discussion with them to make them realize that knowledge is power and that we are the only ones in the progressive's path to a dictatorship??

Is this true < http://usa-the-republic.com/emergency%20powers/… > and if it is, does the added executive power, based on our “emergency” status, give credibility to what is happening today?

I'm looking at the facts, not the messenger.

  • http://twitter.com/SovereignSlave Bruce Hedrick

I look at this issue through the concept of what Adams and Jefferson and other founders called “The religion of America.” If your religion includes the precepts of the religion of America then we can simply move forward with a like-political foundation. The LDS Church doctrine includes all necessary precepts.

  • http://twitter.com/SovereignSlave Bruce Hedrick

I'd love to have a chance at the chalkboard showing the bubbles of our republic and how it interacts (crosses) with our democratic process. This would answer many questions about where rights come from and show the sovereignty of the several states. It would clarify the necessity of individual rights and keep the fed from encroaching on the individual- an excellent subject for a couple shows.

Would it benefit 9.11 and Tea Party aware citizens to know that we are not alone in standing up to and stopping the manufactured Marxist government “fundamental change” to free society nations?

Like, no Cap-and-Tax in Australia; same Cash For Clunkers bad results in U.K., Germany, and now proposed in Australia; “green jobs” home insulation full of corruption here, and the same in Australia resulting over 200 home fires and 2 deaths; etc.

VICTORIANS hit with soaring electricity bills could have their power rationed under a smart meter plan.

Some companies want to “choke” or restrict amounts delivered to homes to help families cope with costs.

Victorians’ electricity bills have surged in the past two years, racing ahead of inflation.

New meters that are being rolled out to every household and small business can ration power to control debt for individual customers.
