I get drawn in by Rands slow southern monotone. I kind of like it.
He cosponsored the Life at Conception Act to end abortion on demand.
Might not set well with moderate republicans.
He is talking the "comprehensive immigration reform" line which might not set well with the conservatives.
But I'm listening.
I'm glad Ben got this out of him. Mark Levin had Rand on for ten minutes the other day, and Rand adroitly danced around the "defense of Israel" issue by pointing out the one thing we ALL agree on on the right: we should not be arming Israel's enemies.
I got a little nervous about his refusal to jump right in and say we are Israel's strongest ally, and we should defend her no matter what. Mark didn't hit him with it directly, but he set up that softball three times, and Rand let it go by without notice.
I really wish the Paulians would just forget about Israel as an independent actor on the world's stage, and accept that we are tied to Israel by incredibly numerous family bonds, thousands of years of religious teachings, the natural alliance of democracies, defensive strategy, logistical necessity, economic advantage, and ordinary human decency. The tendency by some libertarians to treat Israel like some rogue state is simply a very poor use of reasoning.
I heard the interview and I got the impression that Levin was really trying to listen to Rand with an open mind. I know Levin HATES Rand's father, but Rand was early on backed and endorsed by Palin, who Mark respects. I still think Levin is skeptical but open to Rand. Time will tell.
I hope and pray he runs for president. Rand Paul seems to be the only true conservative who speaks his mind and is always right. If he doesn't run, who else do we have? Most other republicans have become RINO's.
Didn't have too much respect for his pops; but, Rand is solid! That dude needs to run next go-round. No more weak, brittle wussies that didn't want to run in the first place getting the nomination.
I'm thinking of David (Israel and the few true conservatives who know and stand for Truth, Love and Life and the Judeo-Christian ethics) and Goliath (the leftist cabal: Islam, Communism, etc.)
One little Rock (Holy Truth) aimed in the right direction...can bring down this enormous structure of lawlessness and chaos.
Obama was only elected because of the evils our nation has embraced and protected. Obama's record and words affirm his advocacy of evil. Yet we have allowed the media to exalt and promote him. Leviticus 26 tells us GOD will allow those who hate His people to rise up and rule over them if they abandon HIS Covenant/Commandments. We have - so anti-Christ, anti-Law, anti-America Obama is ruling over us.
Isaiah 31:8-9 promises this evil collective will be brought down by GOD's sword - His Word. We have to practice and live it to use it against evil.
At least Rand Paul is pro-life, against tyranny in every form, foreign or domestic.
And right now, we have plenty of domestic tyranny to stand and speak out against.
FINALLY, somebody has the stones to say it! I'll bet if the White House made this an official policy rather than just "hinting" at it, Obama and his minions would get a lot more respect and results from the arabs and it would put Israel in a much stronger bargaining position with the arabs. After all, if the Palestinians always scream that they are fully supported by Hezbollah and Iran and Saudi Arabia, to name just a few, why can't Israel count on our full support and advertise that fact? It's about time the people in the Middle East, ESPECIALLY the Iranians, see the line in the sand and if they cross it they will pay the price. Right now, under Obama, they see nothing which is why they're doing anything the really want to do, including getting a nuclear bomb.
Except the Democrats have sided with the Arabs. I want to puke every time I hear a liberal say that if Israel lays down it's arms there will be peace. Obama uses these morons to push his agenda of strengthening Islam around the world.
Obama is a traitor welcomed in the open arms of Democrat voters.
I love me so Rand Paul and I've been a fan of him for many years. He was talking to Beck yesterday and he said that the Islamic Terrorists "Just don't seem to be part of the civilized world".
In response to Senator Paul's comments, the anti-Semites were out in force over at Daily Paul in the comment section:
Rand Paul: An attack on Israel is an attack on the United States
http://www.dailypaul.com/271937/rand-paul-an-attack-on-israel-is-an-attack-on-the-united-states
Also note that forum members have given his comments a thumbs down in rating his remarks.
This is my big problem with Libertarians. I like a lot of what Ron Paul used to say, I like Rand a lot better, but when Jew-haters are attracted to them ,well, it's a put off. I don't understand why Libertarians find it such a threat to be a fan of another country. I support Israel but I live happily in the U.S. and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
I just don't get it and if I see that Rand has a huge Jew-hating following, no way I could vote for him. And before any Libertarian says it's not that they hate Jews, just Israel... go visit the Libertarian forums. They mock Jews and and Christians, it's sickening.
As a Libertarian, I'm constantly amazed by the hostility some of my fellow Libertarians have towards an mention of Israel and believe me I confront them on it, only to be answered with excuses. Sadly, a bunch of unsavory folks tend to associate themselves with party.
I see that sort of confrontation among libertarians all the time in the comments at Reason .com. It's the one thing that totally limits their success, nationally: they have too many nationalists.
He's golden with me. And I would never in my life vote for his father (sorry, 9/11/truther/nutters). Rand speaks clearly and forthrightly. He looks you in the eye and speaks genuine conservative sense. I do pray that he is his own man and that there is no crazy hanging in his closet.
Israeli's want to live in peace while the terrorists attack them from all sides. I don't understand how people can view Israel as the problem, they most certainly are not. Jihad is the problem and westerners are the target. Israel is the big Satan and the USA is the runner up according to Iran's Evil Leader. Liberalism is a cancer of the brain and few can be saved from themselves. Let Natural Selection Work I Say. Prepare for tough times people. Four More Years of The ObamaNation will Destroy US
Maybe, but keep the faith. Obama did not, like Reagan, win in a landslide. He only won because the MSM made it so. We need to hang tough. This ain't over yet.
He's the only Republican who didn't suck up to Hillary at the senate hearing that sets him apart from a lot of cowards out there. Rubio's question was incoherent and I don't want another Bush. Walker has done an awesome job for his state but he now has baggage with the left haters. It may fade in time but has to wait his turn. Rand Paul could carry a large number of Ron Paul supporters if he makes it past the primaries for 2016. He has a coherent message, he knows what he stands for and no flip flops, no baggage. I will continue to watch him carefully in the next few years.
Ron Paul supporters are akin, in numbers (and delusions), to Ralph Nader supporters.
If Rand Paul is a copy of his father, I would never support him.
Re: video on Paul questioning Kerry in hearings. Rand Paul seems like he would fire Kerry too, if he were president, and he brought up problems of funding not only haters of America but also of Israel. He didn't hide his disgust. He seems presidential--won't back down Kerry looks like he has constant indigestion from his own words.
I have to say this at this point. Those who are true Christians support Israel, for it is a Biblical mandate. Those who support Islam and Arab states are disobeying the Bible, for they are supporting Israel's traditional enemies.
What is going on here is what Revelation is all about, Israel is being threatened by a false religion, that is a misnomer (the say peace, peace (religion of peace) but there is no peace), they follow a false prophet (Revelation 13) who raped little girls (http://www.think-israel.org/greenfield.borninchildabuserape.html), they behead their people who convert to Christianity (Revelation 20). They want to run the Jews into the sea(Revelation 12:14-16), i.e. KILL THEM.
The people who support the Jews are NOT in the White House, they are giving Israel's enemies warplanes. We are to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, yet liberal pastors tell us to pray for someone who is endangering Israel. Our Government is based on a document that those who are now trying to harm Israel swore to uphold and defend. Israel is our Ally, yet our leaders are endangering them. It seems every nation IS against Israel, including ours under the current administration.
Rand Paul schools Kerry on the Constitution.

This man is the kind of person we always thought of as NORMAL. He calls it like he sees it, no more, no less, and accurate. A brave, clear thinker I can trust---so far.
So did a little research on his 2012 and 2011 votes. These trouble me so I'd want to understand the reasoning behind his votes:
Voted no to expand military TriCare to include coverage for Autism
Voted no to expand benefits for law enforcement
Voted no to continue the accelerated depreciation expense for small biz (spurs growth)
Voted no to decrease food stamp spending
Voted no to extend the Payroll tax redit (Feb '12), didn't vote on it Dec '11
Voted no on Defense appropriations
Voted no on Balance Budget Amendment
Voted Yes to allow Al Queda suspects to not be held by military
Voted Yes to allow terrorists to be tried in civilian courts
Voted Yes to increase the debt ceiling in 2011
He has been questioned on how and why he voted on some bills. Can't remember the specifics, but he gave logical and constitutional reasons for his vote. I was satisfied with his answers even though I didn't agree with everyone. That's expected.
I haven't looked that far just at votes so far. These will all be targets for the Dem candidates too. Proper vetting must happen. Certain things I will not get past like have the Gitmo prisoners in the US and civil rather than military trials and illegals. I'm also leary of a Libertarian running as a Republican. Run under their true party (ie Barky under Communist)
wheres your source for this? He has not voted to raise debt ceiling as far as I'm aware.
Most of the other votes are spending related, he doesn't vote for spending he votes for cuts so that's why he probably can't support them. He supports a balanced budget amendment to the constitution and has proposed one. There hasn't been a vote on a BBA so again i've no idea where your getting these votes from, maybe you've made them up?
Here are his votes:

Debt ceiling vote 2011
Project Vote Smart has all of the legislation and how everyone voted. This one took me a bit by surprise which is why I said I would have to know more as to reasoning.
I suggest you check the Senate.gov website.
FYI - Project Vote Smart is funded by a soros group.
It's a highly regarded site and lists all bill and all roll calls. If you read my post, I clearly said I would want to know why he voted the way he did. Perhaps there was pork in the bill he didn't agree with. Best to vet. And I don't have a duty to do anything. Rand Paul, however, has a duty to run under his true Libertarian party.
Just an fyi, not everyone on TRS is a dude....
dude it's obviously wrong, your source that is. Do some further research it's pretty easy to find out how he's voted and he hasn't voted to raise the debt ceiling or voted against a BBA, if projectvotesmart is saying that then they're giving incorrect information and you have a duty to inform them of that and to challenge it.
Good work.
The yes to al queda suspects not being held by the military and allowing terrrorists to be tried in civilian courts sound alot of something his kook daddy would do. Pretty troubling there.
The yes to raising the debt ceiling is infuriating.
Still though the GOP is so full of RINO's with no backbone that Rand looks good by comparison.
Sad state that we're in.
Yeah I know. There isn't a single RINO worth anything but it is still very early. I'm trying to focus on 2014 so we can take the Senate! But we need to watch what Rand Paul does between now and 2016 as well. And I only went back to mid 2011, need to look back further too.
I can count on one hand the number of politicians I TRULY trust. Sarah Palin being # 1 .
She supported Rand, so I will too, I'm so sick of not being able to trust what a politician says.
OK so if we are providing the people with the weapons, what does that make U.S. I know we aren't a friend to Israel..This is why I loved Rick Perry , he said the same thing, anyone who's not with U.S. and maybe some that are..??? And five departments right off the bat..Not the military, not the seniors..and a post card for our taxes if we like..Clean House..Private Sector wont' be going bankrupt, especially not with 500 million of taxpayers money..
Someone should hold a candle to Christie...just to see if he bursts into flames.
Christie should be grateful to kerosene and subsequent oils. After all, they saved the whales from extinction. I'm not saying he's a whale, but he does share some common characteristics with some of them.
lol you got all this funny stuff man R. cool !
I guess an old man can still laugh out loud, sweet cripie hat !
There's a funny picture of him with Obama at http://rushlimbaugh.com
Just scroll down until you see it :-)
I don't have to tell you what a big boy Christie is. What's amazing to me though is how mobile he still is. He's also kind of a dick.
Put those both together and you have the perfect descriptive name for him:
Moby Dick.
Chris who ?
got it OTM, the LibRino. For a while now I've been sending support to Rand Paul, I like him a lot
