Watch:

THE HILL – Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) blasted fellow GOP Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Thursday, saying the two “think the whole world is a battlefield.”

Paul criticized the hawkish senators for thinking the laws of war should take precedence over the Bill of Rights. The two had criticized Paul’s statements about drone policy during the Kentucky Republican’s nearly 13-hour filibuster on Thursday.

“They think the whole world is a battlefield, including America, and that the laws of war should apply,” Paul said in an interview on Fox News about McCain and Graham, who had described Paul’s comments about drones as “ridiculous.”

“The laws of war don’t involve due process, so when they ask you for an attorney you tell them to shut up. That’s not my understanding of the way America works,” Paul told Fox. “I don’t think the laws of war apply to America, I think the Bill of Rights do and I think it’s a disservice to our soldiers that our senators up there arguing that the Bill of Rights aren’t important.”

Paul said whether drones can be used against U.S. citizens on U.S. soil is a “very serious question” and was at the root of Wednesday’s filibuster, which delayed a final confirmation vote on John Brennan, President Obama’s nominee to lead the CIA.

“This was a very serious question. It was a question that took a month and a half to get an answer to and so I would argue — and I think a lot of the public would agree with me, both on the right and the left — that what we ask was a very serious question and it’s a question that we finally got an answer to,” Paul said.

what is wrong with the people of AZ and SC? Primary these fools out! They've outlived their buy-by date. Now they're merely annoying.

There is one huge draw back to this....That will be the insurgence of the annoying Paulbots. You know the ones who really only care about pot yet like to act like there is more to them.

Paul stuck his bony finger square in the eye of the National Socialist Republicans, including the pudgy Lindsey Graham and the ever suffering hoer of the Viet Nam War, the only living POW who will not shut up, able Mr McCain.

Next time, please select a sharp pencil.

Bless you, Senator Paul

I'm beginning to think that if the Democrats ran a bi-racial closeted homosexual socialist Muslim for President of the United States against John McCain... They'd STILL win.

it's a disservice to our nation that we are even putting up with people who would even suggest these kinds of things. if the Founding Fathers were alive today, i somehow doubt they would be sitting around squabbling over spending cuts, etc., while a man is actively dismantling our country. that's not the kind of men they were. seems we haven't had men like that since WW2.

i also think it's incredibly naive to have a "wait until next election" mentality which i so often hear on talk radio. are you kidding me? there won't be one unless drastic changes are made now. it's hard and very foreign to own up to these things, but take a look around. we have a hybridized, indefinable terror in the White House chosen for the sole purpose of doing exactly what he's doing.

Since I live overseas I only get CNN and BBC for news, which leaves me without any news. I haven't kept up on this whole drone thing but I do know this - Paul is right, a drone attack it a military strike and it has no place whatsoever on US soil being used against US citizens. No other country in the world does that! Maybe Venezuela would love to have BHO as a replacement after all. He's the same kind of thug.

Really, John and Lyn is that what b.o. said at dinner. I always wonder what b.o has on people that turns them into zombies. Holder must be Hoover, FBI on steroids.

John McCain, and Lindsey Graham, republican, or democrat? It's REALLY hard to tell sometimes!! Both of them make me want to vomit green stuff. Those two truly make me sick to my stomach.

You're darn right it's important. The Obama regime was trying to literally get away with murder. This sort of loose interpretation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights is all too prevelant in this regime and it is wise to pin them down and clarify, since they've been so lawless in the past. I have no doubt that this regime and the monster in the WH are seriously ticked off at you right now.

As for McLame and Graham... they're dinosaurs... and even if dinosaurs existed, we know that they're all extinct. These RINOs are heading that way right now. It's RINO season in 2014.

Stand with Rand on this... he's a hero.

I am sooooo glad McCain lost the presidential race. The truly sad part was Palin being paired with him, I feel sorry for her.

Not that I am at all pleased with Obmama; oh he who can lower oceans.

I was sitting there thinking the same thing today. McCain would be just as bad of a president just in different ways than Obama is.

Rand Paul has done a very important thing here using a very powerful technique:

He has cut through all the noise, back talk and intentional over-complication of the issues that DC feeds on, by stating simply the principles, the ethical code that McCain and Graham are using to justify their action.

the two “think the whole world is a battlefield.”

His filibuster drew the two out and he exposed them. Brilliant and powerful!

I'm still chuckling at the voice mail I left for John Mc Cain at his Phoenix office…

It was so long, they will probably delete it after the first 30 or 40 seconds.

I didn't leave anything out.

Every Senator and representative in DC that has been there over 8 years is the problem and has been the problem. I don't think this country has ever seen a era where so many politicians have been in DC for decades.

When politicians are in office for DECADES they forget reality and become power drunk and arrogant, witness John McCain and his servant little lindsay.

We need term limits on every politician so we have a new crop of Rand Pauls and Ted Cruzes every year, the citizen turned politician briefly, not the professional pol.

tinlizzieowner
tinlizzieowner

Exactly. Vote all the 'politicians-for-life' OUT! Make the Lobbyists (that Obama said he was going to eliminate), have to try to bribe a fresh batch every 2 terms.

"To become the master, the politician poses as the servant".

Amen to that!

And it's an indictment (criminal) of Obama and the Democrats that it is nothing but a piece of old paper to them.

Obama is a usurper who takes powers that are not his to take. His agenda comes before the law and Constitutional balance of power...which he ignores as no other POTUS ever has.

This significant. He forced the regime to go on the record. I believe that next step is addrressing the 1.6 billion rounds of ammo, the 2,717 MRAP vehicles, and the private army being organized by DHS. What is their intended use and what is the mission?

So goes the philosophy of leftist authoritarians. This should tell us all we need to know about the likes of McCain, Graham, and dear ruler Zero. They don't really need the excuse of a war on anything to do what they intend to do. Perhaps an even more serious "crisis" is in order to complete their power play.

The crisis will most likely be financial.

I think what he says here makes a lot of sense.

Some are saying on some web sites today that he is going to begin framing his position to better support his fathers views, and he is "his father's son." AND he might push for a pacifist platform in the future.

My view is that he stood up for the CONSTITUTION, and for us -yesterday.

If we differ with his views down the road, we will contest him then.

America has citizens not soldiers. We don’t take orders from the President. Much as he’d like to think so…. he’s not a dictator.

Unlike Sen. Mc Cain, and Graham, we question authority; we are confident and think for ourselves.

Ok, so part of the Bill of Rights was upheld today and yesterday. What is going to happen with that POS bill that Diane Feinstein has just waiting to hit the floor? That bill attackes the second amenement right in the solar plexis. Isn't the Constitution and the Second Amendment enough? Isn't the language clear enough? Democrats are sooooo in trouble on this one.

There are a few Dems who are squeamish, so Zero and his buddies in the Senate will have to work overtime to twist arms into submission. They will probably water it down to appease McCain, Graham, and others. Even if it barely passes in the Senate, it will die the death it deserves in the House.

Are you sure it will die in the House? They just funded ObamaCare

Don

"are you sure it will die in the House?"

What will die in the House in 2014 will be the political careers of the RINOS who have stabbed this nation in the back by being obvious cowards in the face of those who would transform our nation against the will of the American people. The old saying, "You're with us or against us" keeps the RINOs from ever being a relevant part of the Conservative/Republican parties again. We should thank McCain and Graham for presening such a nauseating act of cowardice to the nation after those who wished to protect our freedoms had made such a positive step for the American people. The mainstream media will shower MCCain and Graham with the same adoration they did Chavez because they have sold their souls long ago.

PatrickHenrysBody
PatrickHenrysBody

I just read that. If the House goes along with any kind of gun control measure, we are definitely up $h!+ creek without a paddle. I was hoping that funding of the ACA (ObamaCare) would not occur. So while Rand Paul was making his stand in the Senate, that took attention away from the House and gave them the necessary cover needed to pass the CR that includes funding ObamaCare. Absolutely disgusting.

I have to be a contortionist to explain how this made me feel...I do think the whole World is a battle field . I also think not going there to fight wars, will hasten how quickly they come here..I also think that arming our enemies while downsizing our own military is treason..Hell people have gotten in trouble for doing much less..like trading broken arms for hostages..But as long as half this country is pitted against the other half..AS long as half this country is treated special, given waivers, given rights others don't have.As long as we befriend people who hate U.S. and defriend people who have always been our friends. Then I want to know, the half that doesn't have a President, can't shoot at U.S...So Thank you Paul and Cruz and anyone else on your team for protecting our rights as U.S. citizens ..Because it has felt lately, like we are looking out for every citizen, but the ones who live here..Just the fact they are sending out lawbreakers who don't belong here free, while not even telling the State leaders who they are and what they did..has many scratching their heads.

There WILL come a time when more and more Americans see how destructive this administration really is. The present admin doesn't understand Americans. They/he believes we're all a bunch of wimps who will relent with a whisper. What he/they don't understand, is what Yamamoto figured out. Awaking a sleeping giant is NOT something one wants to do. I believe they made the first mistake of war; "never underestimate your opponent."

deeme

What they are doing didn't start with this administration, but you are right they are blind to who these people are..just read about the czars..why do you think they are supported by the Communists and Socialists and Marxists in this country?? It's been going on for a very long time.Communist Psychological Warfare is alive and well.Schools have reached their saturation point and how parents can be OK with what is being taught to our children is beyond me..I don't care for myself anymore..but I care deeply for my grandchildren..

When this whole country is yellow ..it's all over..

Sorry about that my kids are grown as well I had to homeschool one for a while but lucked out with God still allowed in our schools for the most part. I feel sorry for parents ,they both have to work because you can't get a place for 225 utilities included like we did when we first started out. Parents who can't homeschool need to remember they are their bosses.

McCain and Graham are two of the main reasons the RINOs are hanging by a thread. Throw Lil Karl into the mix and it gets a lot worse. Romney ignored the Conservatives and 4,000,000 didn't waste the gas to vote for him. The lines are drawn, but there will always those so obsessed with party lines they will forsake their freedoms to tow the line. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, Yamamoto said,"We have awaken a sleeping giant." Yamamoto was dead was right. Obama is our "Pearl Harbor". He and his sychophants will continue to destroy our nation from within until they "awaken a sleeping giant". Carter took this nation to the brink of disaster. Obama is much worse. If Americans wake up, the liberal insanity is on borrowed time.
