Rand Paul slams House Republicans for retreating, saying that Boehner is basically surrendering to Obama on the debt ceiling:

POLITICO – Sen. Rand Paul accused House Republican leaders of having “retreated” in the face of a confrontation with President Barack Obama, criticizing their decision to vote on raising the U.S. debt ceiling this week during a speech in South Carolina Monday night.

In remarks to the Charleston Meeting, a gathering of conservative leaders in the first-in-the-South presidential primary state, Paul rebuked the House for its plans to delay the debt limit fight by a few months. Republicans intend to vote this week on raising the country’s statutory debt limit to delay a spending standoff with the White House by about three months.

“I saw the speaker on TV handing the newly sworn-in president a flag. I am afraid it was the white flag of surrender,” the Kentucky Republican said, according to a GOP source present at the meeting.

Alluding to the House GOP’s gathering last week in Williamsburg, Va., Paul jabbed: “They came out of their retreat and retreated.”

When they re-elected Boehner as the House leader the entire Republican party handed Obama the white flag. They all know that Boehner gives away the farm and gets nothing in return. Why they voted for him is beyond me.

I agree with Rand Paul, the RINO republicans are caving in. I hope Rand Paul runs for president with Herman Cain, Mark Rubio, Chris Christie, Allen West or any true conservative like he is.

Our Congressmen and Congresswomen are a bunch of cowards. They will not answer a single letter or phone call. Cathy McMorris-Rogers is my Rep and she is in hiding after voting for the Fiscal Cliff debacle and now is no where to be found on the debt ceiling. They are not Conservatives I can tell you that much and it seems to me the only thing they are concerned with it their benefits package and pay raises.

If the House of Representatives is lost, it is all do to Boehner. People have no reason to vote for cowards and appeasers. If they want to be socialists too, we can't support them.

I know I have ranted on people like Alex Jones in various sites, a few times here at Right Scoop in some posts lately, because he is muddying issues and attacking all sides and his Ron Paul can do no wrong, but Ron is done with his career so who know whom he latches on too next. The guy is a truther and the guy has supported pet issues of the libertarian base that are anti-conservative. I therefore, don't always agree with Jones and his theories.

But I don't always agree with Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh either.

However, I was searching out on any information on Impeaching Obama I can find. I know Jay Severin is talking about how to Impeach Obama on his show on the Blaze radio network. And I know some congressmen have expressed interest in Impeaching Obama like Louie Gohmert, but they will probably have it hard with the dumb establishment. I also know that it is time to draw the line in the sand.

I first found Jones when researching Secret societies a few years ago. The guy is interesting, but I have bashed his theories at times. At the time he leaned one way in his shows. When Obama ran and won in 2008, Alex Jones was not focused on Obama. In fact, the guy started to oppose Obama over the last four years, but it was not a major focus. He didn't even care about CNN much. the Guy's main focus is the New World Order theory and the coming Police State. I think over time, he noticed that Obama is the commander of the country and he is part of the problem. So, and I should research it to be accurate, but in recent months he came to see Obama as worse than what he thought.

Well he is working on his own plans now to expose Obama now and attack the administration. Well, I landed on a impeach Obama account with information. I was surprised to see a link to Jones' Infowars. Well the guy is trying to Impeach Obama. And every little bit counts and I agreed with his video post. SO I will add that we can benefit from his voice if this is his current direction instead of attacking conservatives or whatever. So Alex Jones is of use.

But I can say that his newer buddy Dr. James David Manning of the Atlah Church in New York tried a sedition trial a few years ago against Obama and it did nothing because he was a bit loopy in staging it and had no press.

Still this climate will make for strange bedfellows.

I too listen to Alex Jones on occasion TMZ2, and maybe I can give you some clarity on who he is. I believe he is in his early to mid 40s, raised in the Dallas area, and his father is a sucessful dentist or oral surgeon, still practicing in that area. He is a Strong Willed Passionate God Fearing Christian Patriot who Loves this country VERY MUCH !!! He now lives and broadcasts from Austin, and is married with 2 young children. I have an idea he sees one of his missions is to Wake Up America to UN Agenda 21,muslim brotherhood, the world banksters, and other tyrannical threats we face from within as well as outside our borders including the New World Order. He loves to expose shams and deceptive practices of mainstream media and was apparently friends with Breitbart. months before the election, he stated that the same people supporting B.O. were supporting Romney, giving Goldman-Sachs as an example. He is on B.O.`s case now and I think they put up the impeachment petition last week. As far as I know, he has a worldwide following, and the "powers that be" don`t like it. I hope this helps...Peace be with you....

So what. It still won't change the fact that the GOP will raise the debt limit.

Looks like Rand Paul has figured out how to get noticed. Just stand up for Republican principles. Standing up for principles will get you traction with the people. Not so much in the Republican Party. I do believe that patriots are ready for this.

Boenher is in a district that added rural areas in a 2011 redistricting (unless the info I have is out of date). Also, in the district just SouthEast of his, the incumbent was defeated by a Tea Party candidate, Brad Wenstrup, who's also an Iraq War vet.

Here's info on Ohio's 8th district (currently represented by Weepin' John). He looks like he ought to be primaryable. We can do this.

Amy Ohio guys want to take him on? We can start the ball rolling right here!

Now that the Senate, Congress, the CIA and FBI have allowed a Constitutionally-unqualified POTUS (alleged biological son and adoptive son of foreign nationals, not a natural born citizen of citizens) to run and hold office twice, and not had a budget (a Constitutional requirement also) for years, they have little to no moral/legal/political weight or authority to hold to the Constitution on any other matter.

I'm not sure it's such a disaster, but rather a difference in tactics. Why waste leverage meaninglessly now - we only have one house, after all. Any time we posture KNOWING THAT WE WILL LOSE is a time we lose credit with the voters - the swing voters, that is.

It's all a game of compromise in the long run; we have to pick our battles and not die for every hill.

At least I hope that's what is happening here. Yes, O won. Thank your friends that didn't vote.

If the Republicans in the House do NOT fight big on spending real soon, they can kiss the 2014 elections good-bye. They were elected to stand for something, and giving Obama and the Democrats a blank check was not it.

Of course Paul is correct. We have seen recently, first Bonehead, then Cantor and latterly Paul Ryan, waving the white flag. They have been negotiating severely and relentlessly against themselves, illustrating the courageous spirit we have come to expect of the GOPe.

Rand Paul is always waving the welcome flag to illegal aliens while you and I would be in prison for tax evasion. He isn't clean either, but is distracting to other issues while he sneaks in amnesty.

They say one thing, and do another. Thanks for nothing, John.

"John Boehner has been running around saying any hike in the debt ceiling must be offset by a dollar for dollar (or more) cut in spending for a long time.

Now he will bring a bill to the floor of the House tomorrow that will suspend the debt ceiling for four months and include ZERO cuts in spending."

Here's the speaker's contact info, Scoop feel free to remove if you don't want it here. I just think it's imperative that he know we DON'T LIKE how he is handling the crisis situations that this administration has forced upon us. Remember, be kind when you call~I know it will be difficult.

Is Rand Paul going to become the leader of the Republican party? There is nobody that is taking the lead. McCain is a failure, forget McConnell, and Boehner?

Recently, Paul has brought up gun running to jihadists in Benghazi, now accuses Boehner of giving up. These topics are not what the rank and file rep's talk about.

Boehner, could be considered the leader of the republican party lite.

Unfortunately Mike, they think Americans are just dumb or ignorant enough not to care what they and their co-conspirators are doing and the only way that's going to change if their is a trial and they are the ones being tried.

I've said this before and you know in your heart I'm right, we haven't a chance with this bunch unless we take up arms against them. We could have done it peacefully back in the summer two years ago if we could have mustered two million outside of the Capital for a month but it wasn't to be. These traitors must feel the noose tightening around their necks before they'll do anything correctly, constitutionally.

Don't diss the new guys. The vote was very close. It was no slam dunk for Boehner. If we want results we need to reinforce the good guys in the next election. Their numbers are to small to accomplish what's needed at the present time.

Can I ask a stupid question, please?

Do the constituents in the various congressional districts have a right to recall their congress critter?

If yes - why not recall Boehner and replace him?

I ask because this 'right of recall' is being debated here, and many wish we could recall an MP who is doing feck all. We don't have that right yet.

Betsey_Ross
Betsey_Ross

I have friends that live in Boehner's district. They may have voted for him, but no credible person tried to primary him either. They do not look at him as we do. He's their guy. There are probably a few that would recall him, but just a few. The guy that did try to primary him was a pro-life person. He made being pro-life the end all and be all of his campaign. Not good. A one issue person is not going to make it. The media won't allow it.

Just remember Aikin and Mourdock. Although they were not one issue persons, the media beat them over the head with it. Our Republicans just can't seem to fight back.

cabensg

Thanks for link. Since Boehner's from Ohio and we know how much we were able to depend on people here in the last election, I'd say recall is pretty futile.

colliemum

Thanks for that link - very interesting and informative!

So Ohio does not have this right of recall, however difficult it may be to enact in practice.

That means Boehner will be speaker until ... the cows come home ...

colliemum

Yes - if everybody gets at their State secretaries to institute voter ID, and even better, get back to pen and paper voting.

After all - that is good enough for the election of the speaker of the House, so it's good enough for all the people.
