Rep. Allen West says the new Dream Act policy issued by the president reflects desperation as he heads into reelection and has everything to do with “politicizing” the immigration issue and “balkanizing the United States of America.” He worries the impact that this will have on our unemployment rate, of which he notes is really about 14.8%, and says that he strongly disagrees with giving work visas to people under the age of 30 because the issue, he adds, isn’t about minors but rather adults.
On the issue of dealing with children of illegals who were brought here by their parents, Rep. Allen West says they don’t need to be deported but also doesn’t believe there needs to be a blanket policy fix either, especially one being issued via a verbal order by the president. He said instead these issues can be dealt with on a case by case basis.
