I’ve seen a lot of this guy lately and I really can’t believe he is from Illinois. He’s not really well known, and I’m not sure if he’ll stay in office because of the redistricting and the way Dems were cut into the few Republican regions….but he’s becoming one of my favorite critics of the administration with the way he doesn’t pull any punches when he’s on MSNBC. Hope to see more of him in the future.

I really like the way he brought up the difference in deficit rates. Most politicians are that quick with facts and figures. There was a host the other day that made the case that if the R would only accede to BHO’s $4 B private jet tax, the $1700 B deficit would go away — but no no one was using numbers !!

Ouch, the truth hurts! I am glad that before the interview, Bashir presented congressman Walsh’s comments on the debt crisis for all to see. The truth needs no defense.
Bashir failed to pin down Walsh on the reality of the debt issue and the racist slur. Livid on Bashir’s face says it all as he’d to cut short the interview: He got totally owned and schooled by Walsh, a true leadership who do not backdown and backtrack on his right principles.

I loved that! Bashir wasn’t using facts, he was using statements to side-step facts because the facts were devastating on their own and he had to try to mask the real issue. It’s actually insulting that he tried to use a tax cheat’s demagoguery as though they carried any weight- and then some random economist’s words as though they were the final word on the subject when the bottom line (which Walsh pointed out) was that all of these experts and super-geniuses got us into trouble and with their help, we are in the most stagnant economy since the 30′s which he only used to throw back in Bashir’s face for blaming Bush as an argument about how tough Obama’s had it…..

I thought that was disappointing – why didn’t Rep. Walsh provide actual evidence?? All he kept doing was making the claim that there’s enough money. He should have cited evidence for this, and then asserted that if Obama decides not to send Social Security checks, the American peeps have only him to blame.

Budgeted deficits were a little over 2 trillion, but the actual debt was over 4 trillion. He used the wrong word, but I doubt his intent was to deceive since the debate has been over both debts and deficits.

Eh. Walsh didn’t make his points at all. He just talked about opinions and ruffled feathers through most of it. Plus, he stammered and wandered around in his comments. Not a drubbing in the least!
I mean, he could have talked about the actual debt to incoming revenue numbers. He could have explained why the Aug. 2 date is arbitrary. He could have talked about why failure to raise the debt ceiling didn’t equal immediate default. He could have said that an a lot more.
Martin ran circles around him and made him look like a prick. Even gave him a chance to apologize, which made Martin look magnanimous. Sheesh. Get Allen West on there next time.
