Rep. John Lewis: Voter ID is like a poll tax, a form of a literacy test

Rep. John Lewis was on the Chris Matthews show yesterday again spewing the same nonsense about Voter ID laws:

“In some communities all across America churches are providing people with a voter ID. But a voter ID is almost like a poll tax, it’s a form of a literacy test.”

Instead of trying to ensure that everyone gets a voter ID, Lewis instead encourages lefty legal groups to get injunctions against these laws:

Well I think right now, not waiting until October or November, the Laywers Committee for Civil Rights, the ACLU, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and different voter groups must go into court and get an injunction against these states, county governments for using this form to try to discourage people from participating.

To be able to cast a vote should be very simple, like getting a glass of fresh water.

Be sure you watch to the end to hear what Chris Matthews thinks about it:
