How is Holder still in THAT position? At the very LEAST he is incompetent. What worries me is this: If Fast and Furious wasn’t BIG enough for him to be at least NOTIFIED it was going on, what the Hell is DOJ doing that IS big enough for him to be notified? And, if that doesn’t apply, WHAT are WE paying him to DO? No matter how you slice it, that man is in the WRONG JOB.

What he is doing is throwing a monkey wrench into the states efforts to get out from under Obamacare and suing the states for trying to deal with illegal immigration. He has no time for the little things.

(CNSNews.com) – The U.S. Department of Justice is refusing to comply with a request from the House Judiciary Committee to provide the committee with documents and witness interviews that the committee believes, as Chairman Lamar Smith (R.-Texas) put it in a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, would allow the panel “to properly understand any involvement by Justice Kagan in matters relating to health care legislation or litigation while she was Solicitor General.”

Maybe the problem is giving guns to the DOJ and ATF. If their employees were not allowed to have guns or okay the sale of guns and had to rely on local police when they were needed.
Oh, I forgot the F in ATF is firearms. Maybe they just all need to be fired and the function privatized with big criminal penalties for screwing up.

So right you are, I wonder if the Senate will allow the National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011 (House Bill 822) to ever come to a vote after it was passed in the House. I have not heard anything more on that resolution. Got to go now, back later.

Exactly right. I have NEVER thought this was a screw up. Government Beaurocracies suck (and take forever to get anything done), but they never screw up this bad. Too many things went wrong, with TOO many people involved, for this to have been unintentional. Not to mention a “whistleblower” was required to bring this to our attention, in addition to a coverup. NO WAY was this an accident.

Lungren has it EXACTLY CORRECT. Obama/Holder DID try and make this go south so they could enact NEW anti-gun laws–they just didn’t think they’d get caught doing it.
This should get Holder and his underlings charged with criminal charges of at least manslaughter and Obama should be impeached. Unbelievable.

A fundamental difference between the liberal and the Conservative is the fact that the Conservative will take responsibility for their own actions, and the liberal will not. This is the liberal philosophy on parade. Eric Holder’s pretzel contortions and mental gymnastics are simultaneously fascinating and disgusting, and he fights hard to run out the clock, deflect blame and dodge responsibility. From one mouth, he talks about taking responsibility, then from the other mouth (which is located somewhere under the seat of his pants), he claims he saw, hear and spoke no evil, and that its unreasonable for people to hold him at fault for any of this operation that he continues to withhold data on. This is clearly an Overton Window ploy. With this felonious, illegal operation, they shock and horrify America (at least those that pay attention) with the evils of guns and gun-related violence, suggesting we do away with them. They know that they can’t get that outcome; in reality, they’ve intentionally overshot their real intended mark, so when they “compromise” on this, and dial it down a few notches (strict, draconian anti-gun legislation and regulation), the ignorant public will believe the politicians pulled back from the unreasonable and returned to the reasonable, when, in fact, this outcome was what they wanted, all along.

I believe the entire episode was planned to put the blame on legitimate gun sales to help bring them to a halt. “What the hell are we paying you for? You’d have more respect from decent people if you just admitted to the lie.”

Rep. Lungren first establishes the difference between Gunrunner/Wide Receiver and Fast and Furious with Holder, the difference being that in Fast & Furious the agents were instructed to break off surveillance after the guns were delivered which was not so in Wide Receiver. But the main point in his inquiring is to find out why Holder and the DOJ were using the failings of what Holder admits was a flawed program, to pursue more gun laws. Of course Holder denies this, but Lungren doesn’t let him off the hook:
