Rep Sherman: Violent rhetoric will cause next tragedy

California Democrat Rep. Brad Sherman told Megyn Kelly that while this violent rhetoric coming from the mouths of people like Sharon Angle may not have caused this tragedy, it will cause the next tragedy:

If you have a heart attack, stop smoking. Not because nicotine may or may not have caused your heart attack – you’ll never know – but it’s gonna cause the next one. And if we continue to bring into the mainstream and treat as respectable those who call for violence and disruption and assassination and revolution and insurrection, then whether that caused what happened in Tucson or not, it’ll cause the next tragedy.

What he’s talking about above is Sharron Angle’s second amendment remedies comment that sent the left into panic attacks. Just for context here’s her full quote as she was answering a question on how she feels about the second amendment:

You know, our Founding Fathers, they put that Second Amendment in there for a good reason and that was for the people to protect themselves against a tyrannical government. And in fact Thomas Jefferson said it’s good for a country to have a revolution every 20 years.

I hope that’s not where we’re going, but, you know, if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies and saying my goodness what can we do to turn this country around?

This is in no way a call to overthrow the government nor did she ever encourage people to become violent. In fact the only people that her comment seems to have resonated with at all are these opportunistic Democrats who are now trying to use it to further demonize and silence the Right. That’s it.

This is just another example of these elitist Democrats trying to tie the above statement of Sharron Angle and those like her to a shooter that didn’t even care about politics; whose beef with Congresswoman Giffords went back as far as 2007 before Sharron Angle, the Tea Party, or Barack Obama.

And now it seems that if they can’t tie it directly to this crime, they will tie it to the next crime before it even happens.
