During a press conference on SB1070 today, Rep. Steve King ripped the Obama administration and the Justice Department for selective enforcement of the law solely for political and racist reasons. After citing example after example of how the Obama administration has done this, he went to the nub of it and spelled it out rather bluntly for the press:

There’s a political motive for this and it should be very clear to all of us. It’s not a mystery! This isn’t about somebody else’s idea of what the rule of law is, this is about somebody’s idea on what’s going to benefit them politically. … We cannot be a successful nation if we’re going to let politics flow from the Justice Department and from the White House and usurp the rule of law.

These statements should come as no surprise to anybody. The democratic party is the party of hypocrisy before anything else. It's always been do as I say not as I do.

I believe Barack is to the point now where even if the healthcare law is overturned (for example) by the supreme court, that he'll just say something like:

"They've made an incorrect choice in this matter and we're going ahead with our plans because it's what the American people put me in office to do".

To summarize the Congressmen, the law only applies when it's favorable for Barack and the democrats to apply it.

P.S. Notice how I do not call him the President but call him by his first name. Because only a man who respects the Office of the President deserves to be called that. He has no respect for the office therefore I have no respect for him as my President so I'll just call him Barack.

The birth certificate issue is a no go. The Supreme Court has ruled multiple times that the person suing has no standing....and that includes a Congressman. No one seems to be hurt by Obama being a fraud....at least according to the Supreme Court.

All I have to say about ObamaCo's attempts to squelch the States' and the Peoples' rights to defend themselves from foreign criminals is this:

"The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."

Put plainly for the stupid: just because the federal government has certain enumerated powers, does not mean the states cannot take on similar, or identical, duties and responsibilities. States are sovereign, and instead of their being this mythological "separation of Church and State" that prevents theologians from having a say in their own government, there actually IS a wall of separation between the States, the People and the federal government. As far as I'm concerned, if I was president, I'd let states have their own anti illegal immigration forces, similar to Border Patrol and ICE, and pass their own laws that did not conflict with federal law and the Constitution. I couldn't care less if the States started rounding up illegal aliens, imprisoning them at hard labor for a time, and deporting entire families (which is prudent, in accordance to the 14th Amendment).

I think that even if everything blows over, you'll still be left with increased tension and distrust.

This, under an administration that was supposed to stand for reconciliation and as living proof that Americans were beyond the color of a person's skin. It's all he can think about! I'm utterly disgusted that Obama, of all people, doesn't use his election and his position of authority to bring unity.

You're absolutely correct. We've got Allen West, Paul Ryan, and a few others - see previous Scoop pages for specific examples. We need to get MUCH more vocal in the Senate. The way I see it, Mike Lee is really the only faithfully outspoken Senator when he gets the opportunity. Rubio has some good moments, but he's creeped me out a little over the past few weeks with his endorsement of Mittens... We need noisemakers in both Houses AND we need to change leadership in BOTH Houses.
