One little confession ... I HAVEN'T been entirely honest with you. I AM on sabbatical with a lovely grant from one of the drug companies (what can I say, they like to promote "social agenda" by giving stipends to us "literary" types), and I do teach, currently on the U level, but I have taught (History, Public Policy, Sociology ... ok ... you'd say "Socialism," and various other subjects across the grade spectrum. If you have kids and if you've ever sent them to ANY kind of traditional educational institutions, I COULD be/may have been/might be their teacher! That's kind of a scary thought.

As I said before, I knew you flagged me. You made the mistake twice now in claiming that I used a 'certain word' (libtard, btw). I never used that word against anyone. I did nothing more than inform and clarify, as you attempted to do as "jane". I found it interesting that, as 'jane', you said nothing to the person who actually used that word, but felt it important enough to attack me. So be it.
Btw, as to the word hatred. Hmmm. I challenge you to show me one comment I made to you, just one, that is filled with hatred. I don't feel hatred toward you, I feel pity. My comments are a combination of humor and sarcasm, and they might be biting to you as they hit close to home, but there is never an ounce of hatred in it. That is the liberal mistake. They hate with all their hearts and then declare that those who oppose them are filled with hatred. Interesting.
Now, I don't blame you. It's not your fault. You have been surrounded by it all your life, while you were growing up as a child, when you went to College, and even now in your adulthood. But it's not too late. You CAN walk away from it, although it will be hard. You took the first step coming here. Ahhh, that's why you flag every person responding to you - it's a lack of knowledge of the comments policies. Okay. But, know this. If you can't prove something in a blog, don't say it in the first place, because that is no more than pretending you are something you aren't. It's as simple as that. You can call yourself the Queen of Sheba, but it doesn't make it true, no matter how outraged you may appear when someone calls you on it.
It appears, however, that you violate what you think are the rules whenever you feel the need, but hide under the false umbrella when you need to backtrack. I had already figured that.
This site, unlike MediaMatters and it's ilk, is a family of sorts, with dialogue back and forth from all it's members. The conversation is civil and only gets nasty if someone comes in like you did with the agenda you had. If you had read more and spewed less, you may have understood that.

Palin's great. But so is Allen West, Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and Scott Walker to name a few. You should admit Bachmann should have done a lot better in the Iowa last year, but the voters got brainwashed against her. Then Santorum took her momentum and won in all conservative and republican states. But the deck was stacked against him with Mitt Romney being the elites choice and both Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich being hard-headed and not dropping out in time. Palin has her worked cut out if she runs in 2016. It will be the same thing thrown at her as Bachmann and Santorum. Plus I have a feeling Rand, Santorum, West and others may contemplate a run as well. Technically Santorum is next in line. I wish Palin well in whatever she does next. If she ran and won that would be great for the country.

I suspect there may have been conditions to her contract that would interfere with her ability to do other work. She needs to be a free agent or move on to bigger and better things. Many conservatives were not (and are still not) happy with Fox News so she needs to distance herself from that network.

I would be happy with a Palin/Bachmann or Palin/West team up. I would also be OK with Palin/Rubio, but not the other way around because Rubio wants to pass immigration reform. If Palin were on top of the ticket she would close the borders and pass her own plan to reform the immigration system from corruption. Then Rubio wouldn't have his plans pass. It is his main problem. Take it out and Marco Rubio is pretty good. Better than Paul Ryan. I could also be OK with a West/DeMint ticket or Rand Paul/Allen West ticket.

As the mother and the sister of persons with developmental disabilities, what you call the "legitimate word," "tard" IS offensive. It is considered hate speech in most compassionate and informed communities.

Of the $250,000 that was left Palin could pay out of her $7 million book deal or her $100,000 speech fee. (two and a half speeches and her legal bills are paid)

The Times obtained a copy of a check for $128,518.85 that was made out to Anchorage law firm Clapp, Peterson, Van Flein, Tiemessen & Thorsness, which Mrs. Palin hired after a string of ethics charges were lodged against her when she was Alaska’s governor and the GOP’s nominee for vice president.

the rnc could not legally pay for her personal lawsuits as governor. read the facts . during the 2008 campaign, way before any ethics complaints, palin received bills from her lawyers for the cost of vetting and background research. all that goes into selecting a vp. that it what she asked the rnc to reimburse since of course a middle class couple making less than 200k per year could never afford.
of course this only matters to you since it is palin. anyone else getting wealthy because of their chosen profession is fine Im sure
the money that the rnc paid was to cover the cost of her vetting and all the research and tax returns etc.. was sarah supposed to pay that? how in the world could sarah and todd( again, a middle class couple) come up with that mo ey. the rnc should have paid it! otherwise, the only people that can rise to the top politically will be the rich and crony connected.

She wouldnt have had to resign if she weren't being financially destroyed. 2 months before she resigned she was in dire financial straits. $500,000 in debt with a combined income between her and Todd of less than $200,000 annually. Purposely driving a middle class couple with 5 kids, one disabled, into personal bankruptcy because you don't like her politics is evil. Case closed. She was wise to make sure that can never happen again.
I don't think she resigned I think they gave her a bad contract and forced her out. They weren't using her anyway if you read her facebook page. They must have some kind of new strategy at Fox News but I can't for the life of me figure out how it can represent conservatives.
