As soon as I took the oath, I'd call the embassy, have the Marines go into the Ambassador's office and put him on speakerphone, then I'd pronounce him under arrest, and order them to lock him down, until CID, NCIS or US Marshals can bring him back to face charges of gross negligence.

I had no idea there was so much to this series of events. Is it being covered on TV? Surprised I haven't heard all these details.....you would figure that an attack on American lands in the middle east, and following battles would be on TV 24/7 and some powerful TV statements by our POTUS. I have to close my eyes and imagine what a POTUS like Reagan would do in this situation.
The idiots at CBS are only reporting that 4 have been arrested in the attacks and all the liberal pond scum over there are declaring a sigh of relief that they can all now move on with their blissful 0-worship.

Folks, the US Navy is beginning the largest ever exercise in the persian gulf in preparation for a combined muslim attack on Israel. That is what I think is about to happen.
If Israel decided to attack, the U.S. will be there to discourage the event. I don't think POTUS would be stupid enough to join the Muslims against Israel before the election, but I think he is there to intimidate and possibly feed information to Israel's enemies, should Israel attack.
No, Stewie, a military exercise is outside the micromanaging of the pres and Iran wants to show their power. If Israel attacks while the exercise is going on, Iran will fire on the Navy and the Admiral will be force to react in kind. That is how our military will be involved in the initial strike against Iran.

Oh- I see what you're saying (I misread your sentence to mean that U.S. would potentially attack Israel).....but I still don't think that we're there to help Israel. This administration has already leaked much damaging information with regards to Iran and Israel.
He needed us to be defeated (damn the human costs) so that he can start pulling all American influence from the middle east. He's destroying our allies and even the conservative media only excuses it as gaffes. It's intentional- He spoke the truth to Telemundo.....he knows he has already destroyed our allies [I believe he's proud of it] and let the cat out of the bag about his intentions. I don't think he wants us to have allies/influence in the region.

I was pretty sure they were going to be unarmed. Wasn't there a story a while back about American soldiers forced to go to potentially hostile environments with a politician- I can't remember the details, but they were forced to disarm by our own politicians. This is just more of the same policy.
Insane. Even I learned this just getting a pistol permit. Don't grab the gun unless you are in danger. Do not point it unless you intend to shoot. Do not aim unless it is to kill.
I can't believe what I just read. Embassy duty used to be a privilege and a benefit for those who have reached the end of their enlistment. We were offered embassy duty as a reward for reenlisting. To have these Marines unarmed in a known hostile environment is absolutely the pinnacle of stupidity. I just cannot believe this, any Ambassador not trusting a Marine with a loaded weapon doesn't deserve to be trusted with an ambassadorship anywhere.
No different than what Jimmy Carter did and what Clinton did in Bosnia. The democrat party takes great pride in getting Marines killed.
Oh, I know there were times when we thought Johnson was purposely trying to get us killed to even up the body counts.
That was one of them, I absolutely loved the M-14, the first M-16's had the open three pronged flash suppressors, then we got 5.56 ammo that tumbled out the barrel, but mostly when we were in no fire zones until we were fired on. If any of those Marines die while trying to protect that embassy, than I am quite comfortable changing that 'suicidal' description to 'homicidal'. Why do we have such dumb asses in charge of everything?
All you need to know is that they are Liberals who have no clue what they have done to America in an ever increasing dangerous world. Our foreign policy seems to be that we will be nice to you and you will be nice to us. Right? This never works, it is infantile.

I get it. I think it's been longer than that, though. I was born in 1970 and have lived my entire life under affirmative action where it is better to be black than to be smart and hard working. I sometimes fear we've been infiltrated for too long and in too many high places by an enemy we failed to either detect properly or define properly. Pretty much everyone I know feels like we're living on an unstable bottle of nitro.
