Looking forward to hearing more details on these proposals.

You can read more here, its a very bold plan, and it pretty much declaims war on the Washington establishment.

Wow…if he really does what he is saying here…I might have to forget about how much I abhorred his “heartless” and “last name” comments.

This is the only thing that can save the Republic.
All of the Central Government is permanently and hopelessly corrupt. Too too many Americans are too ignorant, afraid or dependent on it to cut it to the bone.
Now, why do I have the sinking feeling it will be empty rhetoric?
- http://twitter.com/conservative__ Anonymous.
Because you’re not paying attention.
- Anonymous
I liked your comment… except for the “empty rhetoric”.

I just distrust all politicians, so I wait and see. Some have been with the tea party movement before it started, some are just adapting.
- http://www.facebook.com/tdubthetruth Timothy Bladel
he said ALL this in his book, a year a go.
- Jeff Song
Because he is taking most of what Ron Paul is saying and then racheting it back a couple notches. “If Ron Paul thinks it is good I better say the same, but I don’t want to sound crazy, so I will make my position a little softer”.
- KenInMontana
Unfortunately of the three points mentioned , a President only has the authority to “uproot” that bureaucracy of the executive branch. So, unless they (Perry or Paul) are talking about scrapping our Constitution, two out of three are non-starters.
- Jeff Song
Your right, but what is all this uproar about “Obamacare”? Obama never put health care in place – it was a job for congress.
Do you think that a president that wasn’t so devisive as Obama could achieve at least as much as that?
- KenInMontana
That would depend on “that” President’s backing in Congress. Obama had his field marshals (Reid and Pelosi) to push it through, along with Baucus’ committee to put together the bill with an enormous amount of input and brain power courtesy the Center for American Progress. Not to mention the resources, directly or indirectly of George Soros. Does this hypothetical President of yours have that kind of backing?
- Anonymous
Perry is still very much in play and I want to hear more of his ideas too. He has pulled me back in his direction with cutting government talk. Now let’s get into the specifics.
- Anonymous
i know this man has the ability to lead this country. he will be a slow talker of plain english. he loves our country, and has a pretty good idea of how to lead us back to our greatness. we should be proud to hold our heads high. some of his ideas are the usual beltway jargon of junk of the same ole same ole.
may not be the debater of the century, but he can deliver speeches, and write excellent articles, great interviewer, and people communicator in crowds such as townhalls.
- Anonymous
“…I’m gonna unveil a plan to uproot all three branches of government…” (Perry)
I really like Perry but this doesn’t sound right. Uproot them? It is kind of thought-provoking. I’ll wager the M&M’s will try and spin this right into the looney bin, deservedly or not. They’ll spin anything that doesn’t spin them first. They’ll say he wants to do away with all three branches of government. This should be predictably fun, in a ‘here we go again’ sorta way.
- Jeff Song
Unless you have a something specific about the term “uproot”, I agree with Rick Perry — but I don’t think he really means it. Even if he does, I don’t think he has a good enough understanding to be able to back it up if he was challenged on a one-on-one detail conversation.
Also he is copying the phrases like “nibbling around the edges” and “bold idea” (this one is especially bad because of the way Cain destroyed it).
- Anonymous
On second thought, I was reading article huh(?) section wha(?) in the Constitution, where it says, and I quote:
“All powers of the root, including upping of said root, shall reside with the President. If President uproots all three branches, he must first uproot the house and the senate. If he uproots the Presidency, he, at that moment loses the power of the root and must flee into the forest, forthwith. Amen.”
We recently had some trees removed. I thought they were going to cut them down and then grind the remaining stumps. Instead, they pulled them up by the roots. It was awesome.
- Jeff Song
If I understand you correctly, your right,
but what is all this uproar about “Obamacare”? Obama never put health care in place – it was a job for congress.
Do you think that a president that wasn’t so devisive as Obama could achieve at least as much as that? I don’t think that president would be Rick Perry.
- Anonymous
I didn’t mention Obamacare. Not sure what you’re talking about here.
- Jeff Song
I’m the one that brought up Obamacare. I did this to point out that a president makes things happen that are not the responsibility of the president.
If Ron Paul won the primaries, the underlying revolution that is going on would explode. The sentiments of the people would be behind Ron Paul and a congress with like minded people would likely increase. The revived “Tea Party” would keep congress in check more than it did these past few years.
There are already all sorts of leaders rising up from the Freedom Revolution as mayors, county sherrif’s, etc. – others getting ready for running for governers and congressmen.
I have great fear for the country on one hand, and on the other I have great hope. Please excuse me if I’m showing too much hope for your comfort. There was too much false hope and lies from Obama — it’s time for the real thing.
- Anonymous
Paul certainly appears to have a chance in Iowa. It looks like a 4-way tie there currently. (within the margin of error.)
I’m glad he’s at least in the race. He definitely adds to, and sometimes changes the conversation. He sheds light on issues of importance

This is off topic I know, but is anyone else seeing an ad to “Put Progressive Champion Alan Grayson back in Congress” on this page, right above the add a new comment box? I have a Firefox browser with adblocker and I’ve never seen ads like this before coming up.
Alan Grayson. Yuck. Just yuck, ick, pooey. Satan’s brain-damaged spawn.

Yep, I see the ad and I have seen it on other sites as well.

Nope……mine is Citi Bank refinance. I’m in CA, demographics I guess.

I am in HI and I see alot…so demographics cant be the reason you ‘lucked’ out. You are in a state that elects those type morons….unfortunatley like me over here in Hawaii. gag gag. No matter what non-lib I vote for they NEVER win
- Anonymous
Grayson’s pic is so pig-like I can’t imagine it’s meant to positively motivate anyone. I think it’s possible they are chumming for hits to generate income by angering the audience at right wing sites. I’m not going to help them out by testing my hypothesis though.
- Anonymous
No. I’m in California as well and I get not only Grayson but Sherrod Brown at Blackfive and other lefties on most conservative sites. Google et. al.’s push ad concept is getting to be more and more akin to They Live.

I saw that too, almost reguratated my breakfast, lunch and dinner…(yep, been to RS about threetimes today), so I decided to click on the link and it asked me what I want Gayson…oops I meant Grayson to do. I recommended he stay out of politics, because the LAST thing AMERICA needs is another morally bankrupted person – especially a male one — doing business in DC. Didn’t hear anything back though

just curious but what’s with the “- especially a male one ” comment?

Perry knows damn well he’s not going to act on these three promises . These are three promises that he’s hoping will boost himself in the polls . That’s it . And since when does a Politician stand by his promises ? Never ! Barf
~ - Anonymous
I think he’s the only candidate that WILL act on these issues.
- Anonymous
I agree with ya M_J_S
- Mr. EMT
That works on just about anyone else running.
Perry already has Tort Reform, Castle Law, Sonogram for abortions, and taken funding from planned parenthood among about two dozen other conservative wins for Texas.
A candidate that signs bills such as those into law will do the same with what he is proposing.
The challenge is going to be putting senators and reps who will pass the bills to make it into law. - Anonymous
You have to admit, he knows how to get a conservatives attention. Or at least the wandering attention of those who don’t know him.
- Anonymous
Too bad we don’t have 6 more months until Iowa. Perry could get his butt in shape, Palin would still be hanging over, infatuations with specific candidates would be over, and we would firm up our anti-Romney candidates.
- Anonymous
I just can not give up on Perry, he is a conservative. On the other hand I can’t support him either. I have already gone through eight years of how stupid Bush is, I really don’t want to want to through it again. Not that Perry is stupid but the goofs he has made will never be forgotten.
I’m sorry if I am incoherent, I took five and half shots of tequila to prepare myself to pull a loose tooth that has been bothering me and I am a bit whippy. But the good news is; I got the tooth with the a pair of pliers. Yeah baby.
This is called personal responsibility…time for bed…

But, you have to remember that Rick Perry is not George Bush….. Either through they live in the same state. You cannot compare them two alike. They both are different in their own way…. Rick Perry have shown alot of love for this country… And he wants to get America working again. I love his stragery on the tax plan. I really believe that Rick Perry will be a Persident that will serve this country and wear it with pride.

Perry is known for trying to sound conservative when campaigning then once elected here in Texas, governs like a rino, attacking small businesses with that awful “franchise tax” that destroyed so many with an additional hidden tax. He might try to sound BOLD like Herman Cain to take advantage of the moment, but he is too little too late as one who just talks the talk , then walks across the border to bring in islamic indoctrination even in Texas funded muslim run “harmony” schools!
- http://pulse.yahoo.com/_W3FMTBSVBSRY6R5HWJ4PWP5MCI Lacey
What Texas are you living in? Doesn’t sound like the same one I know of? The honest thing to do is walk back that “harmony” schools untruth. Gov Perry does have a great vision for this country. He is bound to his roots, and would never allow harm to come to his state or this country. His vision encompasses more than just 3 numbers and a bunch of unclear speak, if that is what you are calling “BOLD”. Here is a great place to go to get great information.. we owe it to our fellow citizens to be informed.
http://www.rickperry.org - Anonymous
I am not from TX but to me this Rick Perry seems like the real deal, he loves our country and has ideas to make govt less intrusive in our lives. Isn’t that what conservatives want? To get the govt out of our lives?
I live in MA, due to redistricting, we lose 2 reps. I’m glad, less moonbats in the House. We can the loony liberals moonbats here. I also will not have Fast Ed Markey as my rep, it will be that thug Capuano. That one that was calling for blood in the streets earlier this year. This state has the worse electorate, we do not deserve more reps. - Anonymous
Well that was pretty good. I don’t dismiss Perry, but his debate skills are pretty terrible. The thing that bothers me, his ‘heartless’ and ‘sound of your last name” comments, sound soooo very much like GW Bush and his ‘compassioante conservatism’, i.e. big govt conservative. Then they share the Texas accent and I get cringing flashbacks to GWB.
So maybe that’s Perry’s biggest obstacle, prove to us you’r not a 3rd term of GWB and I will keep an open mind.
I’m really sour on the Karl Rove wing, smart as he is, the occupation of Iraq was a disaster (not the war mind you), and the stomach turning reach outs to Ted Kennedy on education, the homeland securty big brother department, the TSA, attempted amnesty, the RX drug entitlement and all around grow govt and spend spend spend and bail out bail out bail out… ugh.. just prove ur not that like that Rick Perry and I’m open to you.
By the way… what the hell did the progressives NOT like about GWB??? - Anonymous
Man, it’s almost exactly what I’d write if I had a minute to think about it.
Regarding that last line: His Christianity?

Rick Perry has got a plan to get this country running again. Obama has got this country in such a mess, It is going take someone like Rick Perry to turn this country back around again… Mitt Romney is such a flip flopper that he does not know what he believes in. He reminds me of Obama. Smooth talker and remember Obama was a good debater too, but it does not mean he can run our country.. And that is a scarey thought. Rick Perry is not afraid to call it what it is. That is what I like about him. I really believe he loves this country and believes in the America people.
- Anonymous
Lori, while I can’t say I am a 100% Perry fan at this moment I do agree with much he has to say. The FACT that he has signed conservative bills into law in Texas is imo proof of his intentions..
I have no doubt he is for Tax reform and I support a flat or FairTax.He is not the most eloquent speaker, but that is not a priority to me. There are plenty of Salesmen out there that can handle that job.
As far as Romney goes imo he is simply not the right man for the job at this time…
The conservative movement needs a much stronger candidate than a Mitt Romney.
It has taken Perry a couple of months to get his act together, it will be interesting to see how he progresses forward.. but he does appear to have found his voice for now..
He brings a lot of experience and success to the table.Looking down the road if the conservatives can win the White House and do a credible job in the near future then from 2016 and beyond the prospects are huge.
We simply have a highly promising group of young conservatives that only need a little time to develop into the kind of leaders to take America to the next generation…
A lot is riding on this election. 4 more years of what we have now would be a disaster.
- Anonymous
I think Perry, Bachmann, Santorum, Cain, and Gingrich would all make fine Presidents, if we could somehow just place them in the office.
So far, it seem like Cain and Gingrich are the only ones moving the needles much.
On the other claw, I can’t get reeel excited until after the first primary states are done with actual votes.

Agree, I’m getting tired of 8 different candidates. I’m ready for the field to start narrowing, regardless of who wins what primaries.

“I’m gonna address lifetime federal judges who arrogantly rewrite our laws from the bench.” This nugget I’ll leave alone as I’ve talked it to death in other venues.
“I’m the only candidate who has a plan to balance our budget by the year 2020″. Yeah, because other candidates have plans to balance it sooner! Why FY2020? Why not FY2015 or FY2014? Or even start with FY2013 by pushing Federal departments to spend less than is allocated? If you’re going to get serious about making cuts, start right away instead of phasing it in to the point where it might be there if you serve two terms.
“We lack leadership in Washington, DC” Here’s an idea: don’t lead us. The President is not the “leader” of this country. He is no King. He is only a person to command the military and preside over the Executive Branch of the Federal government. If you actually knew anything about the Constitution, that should be plainly obvious.
“Fight to end the IRS as you know it today.” To borrow the words of the late George Carlin: “Well that’s a little vague!” Care to clarify Mr Governor? Will it be more tyrannical than ever or barely a noticeable entity?
“Build a smaller, more humble Federal government.” Not by taking 8 years to balance the Federal budget you won’t. Too much can happen on that long road.
“Fight to create jobs for every American that’s out of work…” Again, clarification is needed. How exactly will you “fight to create jobs”? MMA fight with leaders of business and industry? “If Perry wins this fight, ExxonMobil will be forced to create 10,000 jobs.” Actually, that’d be entertaining, now that I think about it…
“…and they can have their dreams again.” Umm… yeah. I think this guy’s pledging a little much… He might as well borrow the old political lines of “chicken in every pot” and “car in every garage”.
“…yearning for a leader who will tell them the truth…” And that person is you? Don’t make me laugh…. oh wait, too late. If you’re like virtually every other Republican and President who has come before you, you won’t hold to this for long.

- http://twitter.com/flip181 P dubs
Alright! Those founding fathers (Washington, Jefferson, Adams, etc) that set up the Exec, Legislative and Judicial branches were so stupid. Thank god Rick Perry has arrived to save us!
Rick Perry gave a great speech tonight at the Scott County GOP Ronald Reagan dinner, even working in a little joke about his debate flub. In the middle of the speech he announced that tomorrow he will be unveiling a plan that he will uproot all three branches of government:
Tomorrow I’m gonna unveil a plan to uproot all three branches of government and overhaul Washington. It touches every branch of government because they each have contributed to the demise of America.
I’m gonna address lifetime federal judges who arrogantly rewrite our laws from the bench.
I’m gonna address the permanent bureaucracy of the executive branch which thwarts the will of the American people to advance a big government agenda.
I’m gonna put forward some very dramatic reforms for a Congress, that not only spends too much, but is in Washington too much.
Here’s the full speech:
