Rick Perry: Executive order gives me authority to partially block federal law

Rick Perry argued tonight that he would have the authority as president to issue an executive order to block part of a federal law. When asked what gives him that authority, he said the executive order itself does.

In this particular case, he’s talking about blocking the implementation of ObamaCare, and the portion of the federal law he believes an executive order gives him the authority to block is the implementation that occurs within the agencies that work directly for him.
