Rick Perry: I’m a doer, not a talker

Rick Perry has come out with a new ad as he attempts to get his poll numbers up to a more competitive level. And it’s good. I’ve always liked simple, to the point ads where the candidate is speaking for himself, highlighting what they bring to the table. Obama did that in 2008 and it was effective, and in my opinion this works for Rick Perry:

I wanna like Rick.. I really do. “Former Gore campaign manager” I can’t seem to shake that from my head. And I’m well aware Reagan was once a Dem too…

    Perhaps in time…

    • Anonymous

      He debates like Gore…

      I like Rick though.

That’s the least of my concerns with Perry…I’m more concerned with his crony capitalism, mandating vaccines, illegal immigration loving, trans texas corridor building, bilderberg attending, and government growing…to start

    Great ad!

Perry won’t be intolerable, like Romney. If he and Cain go toe-to-toe, that’s gonna be a tough decision. He did good for my state, but he needs to say screw those illegal alien bastards, and call his previous stance a mistake. If he says that, he’s my choice. If he doesn’t, damnit!

I like it too. We need more of Rick Perry and much less of Mitt Romney. Romney is afraid to go on Sunday talk shows. I cannot remove myself from Mitt’s instant messages so I delete them.

Can’t forget “The Texas Superhighway”, where Mexican trucks don’t get inspected until they make it Oklahoma. “I just love them beaners!” Can’t forget using an “Executive Order” ordering inoculations of children from sexual STD’s, deaths be damned. “Cuz I’m da Gov-ner, dat’s why!” Can’t wrap my head on a “voluntary 20% tax rate”, built on IRS precedents, introduced way into the debate season. I thought it was the Tea party battle cry to dissolute the IRS? Can’t get over the childish, Nixon-like dirty information tossing at the last few debates. “He sounds like Johnson, all over again!” A President is SUPPOSED to be a communicator, not someone who says, “I slept at a Best Western. I know what I’m doing!” The man has been a career politician.

About gardasil, what part of opt out are you having trouble with? And deaths? Get over it, the CDC and FDA records show gardasil is safer than the flu shot and every authority on cancer, including the President of M.D. Anderson advise gardasil to prevent cervical cancer.

“To do anything else would be unethical,” Dr. DePinho said.

Under the new flat tax system, taxpayers will have the ability to opt-in to the new system or remain under the existing tax code. Those families or small business owners who made investment decisions years ago based upon the structure of the existing tax code will have the freedom to remain in the current system if they so choose.

That was a pretty impressive load of bull you piled up there.
Did you even bother trying to find out if any of the crap you said was true?

      • Anonymous

I’m in medschool at this very moment, and I fully agree with Perry’s initiative to try and prevent someone’s daughter from being punished with cervical cancer for having sex out of wedlock. If you can opt out, no problem.

        • Mr. EMT

Realize the mandate issue has been dead for over 4 years now and NEVER went into affect. It was defeated upon presentation.
Also there is a huge mistaken assumption on how much power a Texas Governors executive order has behind it.
This issue is more of a foul ball than a strike

          Parents’ Rights.
The Department of State Health Services will, in order to protect the right of parents to be the final authority on their children’s health care, modify the current process in order to allow parents to submit a request for a conscientious objection affidavit form via the Internet while maintaining privacy safeguards under current law.

But, those illegals are his cute, cuddly, little bunnies. And, we can’t be having that, EMT. He needs to send those border jumping bandits to whence they came from.

I agree with EMT; you should let your brain process information, and then transmit the information to your mouth to spew, not your other hole.

Rick will lose in debate and we can’t have that. McCain was a lion with no teeth and we see how that worked out.

    • Anonymous

Romney is a lamb with porcelain veneers

      • Anonymous

Not sure how you mean that. I think he’s all politician though.

        • Anonymous

I replied to the “McCain was a lion with no teeth”….Romney’s a high-class wimp, that’s what I mean. He’s weak.

          • Anonymous

Perhaps a bit stronger. But yes he is too weak as well.

That is a pretty good ad. I like it.

Did anyone else watch Perry’s speech from New Hampshire last Friday? I have watched half of it and am holding off making any judgment about it until I watch the entire speech. But so far it is…. different.

      You mean unhinged??!!

    • Mr. EMT

      Perry today at iowa
He is interviewed with Q&A from the crowd begins at 7:00 minute mark and goes through the 22:00 mark.
He is followed by santorum, then bachmann, then paul, then newt.

I have heard several stories about what happened at NH, from “maybe he had a few” which i think is BS unless a few redbulls.
He acts about how I feel when I have gone a little too long with out sleep and im running on testosterone and caffiene and know if i slow down i’ll put myself in a coma.
Thing about his NH speech is he did not slur or stutter his words and his message was on target.
Even if his behavior makes you say, “i’ll take whatever he is having”

This ad is a good followup to the Sunday gig with Chris Wallace. I’d like to see Perry up his game.

Holy Crap!! He has a neck!!

I like Rick Perry infinitely more than Romney. I think his tax plan stinks though. If he were proposing a flat tax that would REPLACE the 72,000 page code that we have now, I’d love it. Unfortunately, it is in ADDITION to the current code. If I understand it correctly, under his plan, you would have to calculate your tax liability twice and pick the lower number. How does that make it simpler or easier? If I’m wrong, please feel free to tell me.

    • Mr. EMT

Perry’s flat tax plan explains why the choice is there.
It sounds like a good reason, you should probably go see for yourself and decide.

Allow Individuals to Choose Between Existing Tax Code or New Flat Tax System

Under the new flat tax system, taxpayers will have the ability to opt-in to the new system or remain under the existing tax code. Those families or small business owners who made investment decisions years ago based upon the structure of the existing tax code will have the freedom to remain in the current system if they so choose. And taxpayers who desire a simpler, less expensive system are free to move into the optional new flat tax system and take advantage of a postcard-sized tax return that could be filled out in minutes.

      http://www.rickperry.org/cut-balance-and-grow-html/

Whether you agree with the reason or not you should look at the sample tax form.
So easy even tim geithner could do it.
Seriously i think anyone with a high school education could do their taxes in under 5 minutes on that form.

I am even more unimpressed by Perry with this ad. This is nothing but a politician speaking. There is no depth or substance to the contained information.
